What to do with all those leftovers?

Thanksgiving is finally over, but it seems like it lasts for days! I can’t believe the amount of leftovers we have from our Thanksgiving dinner. I really don’t mind though, I love turkey and so do the girls, so I try to find different ways to mix it up, sometimes it can be a bit difficult though.

Thankfully Safeway has compiled almost 20 innovative uses for my leftover turkey, mashed potatoes and other leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner in their Leftovers Lounge. The best thing all of the great ideas are budget friendly as well. You’ll find ideas such as Turkey Enchiladas and Sesame Thai Turkey Salad among many other great recipes and ways you can turn your leftovers into a new meal for your family.

Safeway also has a secret, how about a 2hr turkey? That's right you can learn how to cook a turkey in only 2 hours! This might be a lifesaver for some of you with your upcoming Christmas dinner last minute, or with surprise guests popping up at your home.

Visit Safeway and the Leftover Lounge for more great information and dinner ideas. Keep your leftover holiday meals interesting!

A Gift Card was provided to me from DEI Worldside and Safeway for this posting. Opinions are strictly those of the author of A Wrestling Addicted Mommy; please see my disclosure policy for more information.

Stuck on You: Personalized Santa Sacks

We’re ready for Christmas! But I’m not ready for the traveling that we’re going to be doing. I have to figure out just how to get everything to go with us! This year should be a great one though because I’ll be able to spend Christmas at home, with my family for the first time in almost 8 years. The girls especially are super excited.

Although I’m done all my shopping, and all the gifts are wrapped, I still like to find something a little more ‘personal’ for both of my girls. It’s hard to find personalized items for them since their names are not exactly common. Recently, I had the opportunity to check out a company called Stuck On You who specializes in personalized labels, but also have a ton of other personalized items you can purchase and now carry their very own Christmas line just in time for the holidays.

We had the opportunity to check out their Personalized Santa Sacks and they’re super cute! This also gave me some help in the idea that I could keep the girls Christmas gifts in on the way to my parents. The sacks come in 17 different design styles and allow you to personalize them up with up to 18 characters. They’re very large as well, at first I thought they’d be pretty small but the size amazed me, they’re 17 ½” Wide and 25 1/3” Tall. Perfect for Santa’s haul of gifts! Personalized Santa Sacks come in Boy and Girl designs.

Girl Designs include: Santa Pink, Christmas Pink, Mrs. Clause’s Cupcakes, Pink Modern Christmas, Stocking Red, Pink Christmas Birds, Red Christmas Birds, Christmas Patterned Bird, Name Only (Pink) and Name Only (white).

Boy Designs include: Santa Red, Christmas Green, Santa & Rudolph, Candy Cane Stocking, Blue Modern Christmas, Stocking Blue, Red Christmas Birds, Christmas Bugs, Christmas Monsters, Name Only (Blue), Name Only (white).

Any of the bags could be used for a boy or a girl, or even adults! They would make a super cute gift bag for any gifts, and it’s a keepsake as well. Stuck On You’s Personalized Santa Sacks retail for $44.95. You can find more information by visiting www.stuckonyou.biz.

I have to post.... I really don't want to tear this house apart right now, I'm afraid I won't put it back together, I'm just in one of those I don't care moods.... Oh well, maybe there's some freebies to cheer me up this morning....

Grrrrr..... Don't mess with me today.....

You know, it’s only 9:30am and I’m ready for this day to be over! I don’t’ know if it’s PMS or what but I’m ready to go nuts! I’ve been crying all morning over one thing or another; I feel like crap, I just want to crawl back into bed, and to top it all off….. I can’t find my cell phone! I’ve torn my living room apart looking for my BlackBerry, the battery is dead so it doesn’t help at all, the last time I remember having it is on Black Friday when I was driving back home (and no, not in the car either). I could have sworn it was in my purse, but when I went to look this morning, it’s not there!

My teeth are giving me issues again, I knew this was going to happen; I have a ton of work that needs to be done on them but UGHH!!!! I don’t need any of this right now. I feel FAT, I feel like I’ve gained all the weight back that I lost, I feel like I look like a big fat huge ugly blob and I have no motivation right now to do anything about it….

I’m going to fall apart, like an rv breakdown soon if things don’t go my way. I’m at that point where I’m flying off at the handle at anyone and everyone today. GOD sometimes I HATE being a woman!

So off I go, to tear the rest of the house apart hoping to find my BlackBerry…….. Hopefully this day goes fast so I can just go back to sleep.

Do you have someone on your naughty list this Christmas? Or maybe it’s you who’s been the naughty one, fear not, there are the perfect gifts for those ‘naughty’ people this year and they all come from Eden Fantasys.

Why not get into the holiday spirit this year with something to make you a little ‘jolly’ like The Candy Cane! This beautiful high quality glass wand will be sure to give you the joy you need this holiday season. With a curve just right to hit that g-spot or the smooth straight shaft this candy cane does a double duty, and gives you (or him) the ability to get a great comfortable grip while in use.

Glass toys are one of my favorite and this is no exception, there’s no friction, it’s easy to clean, and you have the option of using this toy by warming it up in a bowl of warm water or cooling it down with colder water or sticking it in the fridge. This toy is perfect for couples or for solo play.

If you’re into playing games as a couple to spice things up, try out Cosmo’s Steamy Sex Games. This deck of cards has twelve fun and sensual games that promote intimacy and are easy and fun to play. Games like creating a sexy story; truth or dare and trivia will get your attention and get a couple excited to continue on to the more playful challenges. The best part of the game, having the ability to tease and get your partner all riled up and enjoying themselves without them being able to do anything back, until the game allows.

Cosmo’s Steamy Sex Games continue on to different games such as the daring dice discovers game, sexy tarot cards, a sexy scavenger hunt and the ability to even bring props into some of the games. Now as busy parents I know this might not be the easiest thing to ‘play’ on most nights, but take a weekend away and surprise your partner with something a little different.

With 118 cards and the perfect storage box to keep them in, Cosmo’s Steamy Sex Games is the perfect gift for a naughty couple to get some sexy playful time inside (or outside) the bedroom.

Who say’s Christmas has to be nice, Eden Fantasys brings out the naughty in all of us, why not make up a stocking of ‘naughty’ gifts for your loved one this Christmas, be sure to check out all the different stocking stuffers you can purchase by visiting www.edenfantasys.com.

Holiday Gift Guide Home Decorating: Treetopia.com Artificial Trees

Have you done it yet? Have you got your Christmas tree up?

I’ve been a little early; I’ve had mine up for a few weeks now. To admit, I was a little overly excited this year to do it, with a brand new tree and some great new ornaments that couldn’t wait. This year we were provided a beautiful artificial Christmas tree from Treetopia.com. We’ve gone through various trees since we’ve been married. Not being able to afford much our first Christmas a $16 tree was our tree for a few years, then a few years later I wanted a new tree and found someone giving away a beautiful white Christmas tree on freecycle.org so I couldn’t pass it up, I have always wanted a white Christmas tree, but apparently my family didn’t so we got rid of that one, this year was the hunt for a new tree and Treetopia was the perfect place to find one.

Treetopia has a wide variety and assortment of artificial Christmas trees from something a little funkier to the more traditional tree. No matter who you are, you’ll defiantly find something to suit you and your families tastes. Now if it was up to me, I probably would have opted for one of the more ‘funky’ style of trees, maybe the Twilight Black Christmas Tree (starting at $329) or the Smurftastic Blue Christmas Tree (starting at $189); however my hubby probably would have killed me! He’s more the traditional type, so I went with something a little more ‘traditional’ for his sake and picked out the beautiful Pre-lit Balsam Spruce Artificial Christmas Tree (starting at $99).

The Balsam Spruce is easy to set up, so easy, I was able to do it myself without the help of hubby. The branches are fully hinged; there are no hooked branches to deal with or color coding to remember. The unique three-toned PVC needles bend in well with any room and they really do feel almost realistic. The lights are also beautiful with a choice of no lights, clear pre-lit or multi-colored pre-lit. The Balsam Spruce features bright beautiful lights where if one bulb burns out, the rest will still stay lit. It also comes with an off season storage bag for easy storage, a premium folding metal tree stand and a 3 year Light and Foliage Warranty. One of the really great things I love about this tree, is the On/off foot pedal to allow you to turn the tree lights off or on easily without having to reach back behind the tree to unplug.

I do wish the tree was a little fuller, but overall I’m very happy with it and so is the rest of the family as it stands proud in our living room waiting for Santa to fill the bottom up with presents! Price for Treetopia Artificial Christmas Tree's vary, but the prices for most tree's are very reasonable for what you're purchasing and the quality you'll be receiving. Also don't forget the FREE ground shipping that accompanies most of their trees.

With trees of all shapes, sizes and colors and with quality products and fast shipping (via Fedex) there’s nowhere else to even think of looking for your next artificial tree. Visit www.treetopia.com for more information.

Giveaway Winners!!

Sorry for the lack of posting, I'm so behind on a lot of things blog wise. Not only do I need to announce winners for some giveaways, but I also have a TON more great reviews, product features and giveaways to go with my Holiday Gift Guide.

Thanksgiving was great, it was just a small dinner with my family it was also hubby's 30th birthday, so we made a great day of it, all of the cooking I did for a family of 4 didn't make it seem like a small dinner though, which reminds me, I gotta get that kitchen floor mopped, stupid laminate tile in there, I really wish I could get some granite tile instead.

It seems with both the girls home this week, there's no real motivation for me to blog and when I get the bug to blog, the screaming, fighting and silliness get in the way of me actually getting any work done, thank goodness tomorrow is Monday and things go back to normal! I do have some exciting news about myself, and an update on my Father that I'll get to in some later posts.

Now onto the winners!!

Making a K'NEXion with little builders...

My youngest is into the ‘building stage’ right now, she’ll take just about anything and build something with it. We’ve decided for Christmas we’ll be looking for the perfect building set for her age (3-4), nothing that’s just for babies, and nothing that’s to small that mommy and daddy are going to step on and kill ourselves with.

Team Mom and KNEX provided us with a great sample of the perfect gift for my daughter! The Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection Building Sets. These sets are for ages 2-5 years and help children build and play with some of their favorite Sesame Street Characters, one of which being my child’s favorite Elmo!!!

Once she saw Elmo she was ready to build, build, and build! I love the set because it doesn’t come with an overwhelming amount of pieces, and the pieces are large enough for her little hands to handle without being too large like they were a baby and pleasing mom and dad because they’re not so small that she’s going to lose pieces where our feet will find them first. She builds with confidence and excitement, loving the fact that she can take the pieces and build what’s supposed to be made, or think outside the box and get creative!

There are four sets in the Sesame Street K’NEX collection and we can’t wait to grab some more this holiday season so she can build her own little Sesame Street.

Want to win $1,000 in K’NEX products? Right now K’NEX is holding a Make A K’NEXion contest where you can have the chance to win over $1,000 worth K’NEX toys as well as be featured on the knex.com website. All you need to do is make a video including select K’NEX products.

Also, during the months of November and December K’NEX will be donating 10% of online sales on knex.com to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

For more information visit www.knex.com.

Dad is still in the hospital...

It’s been a long week it seems already, and it’s only Wednesday!!! I’ve missed a few days of blogging; it’s just been hectic around the house and a lot going on.

My dad is still in the hospital, we have hopes that he’ll be coming home today. A bit of an update, he’s got multiple blockages in his arteries, they still need to do an angioplasty to determine how bad and where they all are, however that’s on hold for a while. They also took a look at his liver and found it to be enlarged but it’s nothing the doctor is worrying about at this time.

While in the hospital he had a gallbladder attack, which is what I’m thinking caused this whole issue in the first place (I have gallbladder issues as well). His gallbladder is inflamed and infected and he’s got gallstones as well. So, for now, they have him on antibiotics and they’ve got a drainage tube in his gallbladder to drain the infection. Once the infection is all out, they’ll do an angioplasty and work on his heart and blockages first, then in a few months they’ll go back in
again and take out his gallbladder.

What a mess!! I feel so bad for my dad, he’s not the type to want to be laid up and in a hospital, I know none of us are, but this has to be really bothering him, especially since he just bought new property and has to fix and clean it up etc. etc. He’s already said a few times how stressed out he is because of all the work he has to do and doesn’t have the time to be laid up in bed.

Looks like we’ll be heading there next weekend hopefully for a visit, we’ve all had colds this week and I didn’t want to head up there and visit him in the hospital while we’re being sick. This is a pretty big deal, it’s not like his body is just a bunch of Mopar parts or something, this is his heart we’re talking about and now he’ll have to have 2 different surgeries to fix him up.

It’s so tough not being able to be there, but I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this stressful time!

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: Cupcase Individual Cupcake Holder

There’s a big issue going on, one that must be addressed by us mom’s out there who try to send our kids to school with a yummy cupcake or muffin! The smooshed cupcake!! This isn’t something we should stand for; a lot of us work hard to bake (or buy) these delicious goodies to hear that they’ve been squished to a pulp once they’ve arrived at school ready to be eaten at lunch. Not acceptable!

If only someone could provide us with a device, something that could protect our precious cupcakes on the ride to school. If only someone could provide us with a cupcake holder of some sort.

Vat19 has flown in to the rescue! Vat19 has a variety of products that are a little more unique than normal. Their fun and unusual gifts are perfect for stocking stuffers, or to find a gift for that hard to buy person this year. They’ve also provided me with the awesomeness of the Cupcase Individual cupcake Holder!

This cupcake holder has been the safety net that our cupcakes have been hoping for, it allows my daughter to devour her delicious cupcake without having to lick the bag it was transported in. Thanks to the Cupcase Individual cupcake holder her cupcakes and muffins arrive safely to school.

Simply place your cupcake or muffin inside these really cute plastic cupcakes, there’s a platform to stabilize the base of your cupcake as well as a thin plastic prong on the top which will secure your cupcake from the top. No more smooshed cupcake, no more smeared frosting. Once your cupcake is inside the Cupcase you can shake, rattle and roll your cupcake around without fear, it’s safe and secure and ready to be transported from the kitchen to school or wherever else you may need to transport the little guy.

The Cupcase comes in two styles: Pink Frosting with Chocolate Cake OR Chocolate Frosting with Vanilla Cake. They’re about 4” tall and 3.5” in diameter. The lids snap close easily and open easily as well for little hands, they’re also dishwasher safe!

End cupcake abuse with the Cupcase cupcake holder! These would be a great stocking stuffer this holiday season. For more information about the Cupcase Individual Cupcake Holder or for other great fun and unique gift ideas visit www.vat19.com, you can also become a fan on Facebook.

....Relaxing....

Don’t look for a lot of posts from me today. I’m sick once again, big surprise! Ever since I put my oldest in Kindergarten it seems we’re sick, sick, sick and once we think we’re getting better, we’re sick again… BLAH!!!! I so wish I could just go away to some gulf shores hotels and rest in peace and quiet!

So an update on my dad, thanks to everyone for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. He’s still in the hospital. Thankfully he’s had no more chest pain. All of his blood work, EKG’s and tests have come back normal that was until they did his stress test yesterday. They found multiple blockages, but no damage has been done to his heart. Today or tomorrow they’ll be doing an angioplasty to see how bad the blockages are, and then he’ll be having whichever surgery they deem necessary. I got to talk to my dad briefly last night, his worry? He’s got too much work to do to be laid up in the hospital! I swear, this man is a workaholic! I told him work is secondary right now. It just really sucks that I can’t be up there, and now with me and the girls having colds, it wouldn’t be a good idea anyways. I hate having to rely on phone updates ugh…

Tonight though, for me I finally get to get out of the house, with no kids!!! I’ll be going to see New Moon! I’m so excited!!!! It will be nice to get out of the house without the kids, without hubby and have a girls night out, right now I could use it! Until then, I'm taking advantage of my hubby being off today and resting, resting resting!

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: The Popcorn Factory

Yummy Popcorn! It’s one of our favorite snacks in this house. Normally we just eat microwave popcorn in the bags, but every once in a while we’ll splurge and get some yummy flavored gourmet popcorn from various places.

One of my favorite places is The Popcorn Factory. Having fresh, tasty, flavored gourmet popcorn in a giant tin for us all to enjoy…YUM!!! Thanks to The Popcorn Factory the girls and I got to enjoy some popcorn out of the Falling Leaves Popcorn Tins which included a 3-way mix of Butter, Cheese and Caramel popcorn. I had to pry their little hands out of the tin before they devoured the entire thing, and believe me, our tin wasn’t small it was a whole 2 gallons of popcorn! The one thing I love besides the popcorn inside is the beautiful tins for whatever occasion, something you can re-use for various things and makes a perfect gift during the holidays.

The Popcorn factory has tins and gifts of popcorn in various sizes, and themes at a range of different prices, there’s just about anything to fit in anyone’s budgets, and the popcorn, not only tasty but fresh, for days!

Right now The Popcorn Factory is celebrating their 30 year anniversary and to celebrate they’ve launched a 30 Gift Giveaway Sweepstakes. From now until November 23, 2009 one lucky grand prize winner will win 30 gifts for both their friends and family (up to a $6,000 value), for more information about the 30 Gift Giveaway Sweepstakes click here.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: Parrot Minikit Chic

Gadget Geek! I’ve mentioned it previously; we’re a family of gadget geeks, specifically when it comes to cell phones. Hubby is the guru of all gurus when it comes to talking cell phones and cell phone accessories. He’s always got the latest and greatest and is excited to try new products and accessories once they hit the shelves (or even beforehand sometimes).

When I had the ability to review the Parrot Minikit Chic I couldn’t wait to tell him, I knew he’d be just as excited as I was, maybe even more! Now, I don’t drive (yet! Newsflash I just booked my road test for the 24th) but hubby does and he’s always talking or texting and fumbling around with that darn phone of his somehow, and I’m always yelling at him to stop because let’s face it, it’s dangerous! Headsets are great, but if you’re like me and have tiny ears it’s hard to find one that works, so with my impending ability to drive alone, the Parrot MiniKit Chic hands-free device is the perfect solution!

At first look the Parrot’s Minikit Chic looks cute! Perfect for me and my still. The Bluetooth speakerphone is black with silver and grey flowery designs, nice and pretty for me, but not too pretty for hubby! The design is small, not as small as a headset but about the size of a cell phone itself and comes with a built-in clip so that you can easily place it on your car’s sun visor, which is super easy to install, you just pry the clip open and slip it on your visor.

Not only does the Minikit Chic let you talk hands-free but it also incorporates your contact list from your phone, so all you have to do is tell it who you want to call. No fumbling around in your address book! We did notice this worked great with the Samsung Omnia and Blackberry Curve however with my hubby’s new Droid the contacts list incorporation didn’t seem to work. The other great thing about the Minikit Chic is the knob on the top which allows you to scroll through menus easily while you hear the menu choices without having to take your eyes off the road.

Voice clarity is great! I could hear hubby perfectly when he was driving and vice versa, no issues there unlike with some headsets that pick up everything but the callers voice. The voice prompt is also easy to understand, and just reminds me a lot of the voices on my GPS nothing different, however when asking it to do something like call a specific person you do have to speak clearly without a whole lot of background noise for it to understand. Additionally it will also announce who is calling you (if they’re in your address book), so you don’t need to look at your phone while driving to see who it is.

The Parrot Minikit Chic ($99.99) is the perfect gift, don’t want the design for the man in your life, no problem they also offer the plain-black Minikit Slim with all the same features. Be safe while driving this holiday season and beyond, with all the new laws in place about having to have hands-free devices, this is the perfect gift!

To find out more about the Parrot Minikit Chic or any other devices visit www.parrot.com, or become a fan of Parrot on Facebook.

Daily Freebies!!!

Before I move on to my Daily Freebies, I just wanted to ask for a few thoughts and prayers. I got a phone call this morning from my brother who told me my mom took my dad into the hospital last night with chest pains. I've since spoken to my mom and she said everything came back normal, but because the nitro worked they want to keep him for a day or two for observation.

I really hate living far away and not being able to be there right now, I'm a worry wart to begin with so when something like this happens I get crazy worried and just ugh... I'm going to try to keep myself busy today while I wait on a phone call from my mom to hear more, you'd think my worrying and stressing would be a good appetite suppressant but it's quite the opposite. So if you all could please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers today it would be appreciated.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: Powermat

My hubby was so excited for this next review. We’re both gadget geeks but he’s probably 100% more of a gadget geek than I am, this man lives for gadgets and technology! I had heard about the Powermat from him a while ago, and he was super excited about it, so when I told him I had the chance to review the Powermat he was jumping for joy!

If you haven’t seen or heard about the Powermat yet you’ve been missing out. This is the new, revolutionary way to charge almost all of your devices! I’m talking cell phones, headsets, even Nintendo DS! How many of you are like us and have multiple cell phones, and other electronic devices that require charging daily? I bet there’s a bunch of you, and if your like me I hate…Hate…HATE seeing all those wires everywhere all tangled up, it just screams fire hazard to me! Well the Powermat is the solution to that problem with their new wireless magnetic technology that will charge all of your devices.

There are two different Powermats available for sale at this time, a home/office mat as well as a travel mat for on the go. Powermat charges your devices by allowing you to add a receiver/case or by using tips/adapters to your device and simply placing it on the mat, it’s that simple! At first I was a little put off about putting new backing on my Blackberry which would allow me to place it on the mat to be charged but after I’ve noticed the ease of charging, with no wires it no longer bothers me. However, if you choose not to use the receiver on your device or they don’t have one for your device yet, not to worry the universal receiver and many different tips will allow almost any device to be charged on the Powermat.

The Powermat retails for $99.99 and comes with 1 universal power cube and 8 different tips. With the power mat you can charge up to 3 different devices on each mat. Specific receivers for your device start at $39.99; currently receivers are available for: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod, Blackberry Curve 8300, Blackberry Curve 8900, Blackberry Bold, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite and many more to come! Just remember, if your device isn't listed there, the universal power cube and tips are your best bet to charging your device with the Powermat.

Check out how simple it is to use the Powermat...

We’re just in love with our Powermats! We’ve taken our travel mat with us when we’ve traveled and it’s so much easier than remembering individual chargers when we leave, and when we’re returning. It’s also easy for my girls to just plop their Nintendo DS directly on the charger rather than having to find a plug. No cords is a big plus for me, it looks nice and need on our bedroom dresser with just 1 mat, 1 area for charging our phones.

The only downside is the case that comes with the tips, we did find that it took a lot of maneuvering to get all the tips to fit inside, even after we did that, we noticed that the larger tip (for iPods) really can’t be in the case for them all to fit, I’d love to see a larger portable case that fits all of the tips at the same time.

You can learn more about the Powermat by visiting www.powermat.com, if you have a gadget lover on your list for Christmas, this is a MUST HAVE!
