Jakks Pacific Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery Set Giveaway...

One of the gifts my girls loved last year was the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker, now it wasn’t as great as we had hoped, it was pretty messy and the cupcakes weren’t that great, but the girls had a blast with it, and really that’s all that matters. This year my youngest has asked for the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery and with the prices on Amazon for it, I couldn’t pass it up.

With the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery, kids can bake and decorate their own tasty creations without all the mess. The Cake Bakery helps teach children the basics of baking in their own home while allowing them to add their own creative touches with fondant shapes and gel decorators. Kids ages 8 and up simply need a microwave oven and some adult supervision to start having fun with baking.

Jakks Pacific also partnered up with the Food Network and Ace of Cakes world renowned celebrity baker, Duff Goldman to be featured on the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery product line in hopes of encouraging kids to push their limits and create fun, funky cakes just like Duff.

Amazon has a great price for this right now at $9.99 (MSRP $34.99) last I checked. You can find more information about the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery or other Girl Gourmet products by visiting jakks.com.

JAKKS Pacific has some other great toys as well that I've featured in my 2009 Holiday Gift Guide be sure to check out the great gifts for children. But for now, JAKKS Pacific would love to giveaway a Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery Set AUTOGRAPHED by Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes to one of my lucky readers.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: BrightFeet Lighted Slippers

There’s nothing worse than getting up in the middle of the night and bumping into something either stubbing your toe or just plain out bumping your entire body into something hard. It hurts! And it’s not fun!

As parents with little ones we tend to get up a few times during the night, and there’s nothing I hate more than going in to check on the girls and not being able to see, worse having to turn on a light and wake them up at the same time. When I heard of BrightFeet Lighted Slippers I had to try them out, what a great idea for not only parents, but those midnight wakers as well.

BrightFeet Lighted Slippers contain LED lights that are pressure and light sensitive and have a illumination of 25 feet and work GREAT! Not only do they light your way, but they’re so fuzzy and comfortable they keep your feet warm as well.

The LEDs are powered by 2 lithium batteries (included) which can also be replaced. Once you step into the slippers the pressure sensor is activated to illuminate but only if the slippers are in darkened conditions. They also have a built-in-timer which will shut off the LED after you’ve removed them from your feet.

The slippers are $39.95 and well worth the investment, no more turning on lights, or bumping into things during the night, also I think a perfect gift idea for new parents or parents to young children. You can find out more about BrightFeet Lighted Slippers by visiting their website www.brightfeetslippers.com or by becoming a fan on Facebook.

Holiday Gift Guide Gifts for Her: Hana Elite 1" Ceramic Flat Iron

My hair can tend to be on the crazy side at times, frizzy, wavy and just plain unruly. Although my hair isn’t full of curls like my daughters, it has a wave to it, some days it’s good, most day’s it’s bad, so straightening it, although time consuming, helps me tremendously to tame my hair so it does what I want it to.

The best flat irons right now aren’t the ones you just pick up for the cheapest price. For a good flat iron you really do have to shell out a decent amount of money, not a ton, but a decent amount. You want to find something that’s not going to burn your hair, and find something that’s easy to use.

Thanks to Misikko great professional flat irons are available at an affordable price. Their top of the line ceramic flat irons are really one of the higher qualities of hair appliances. We got to try out the Hana Professional Flat Iron and I was very impressed.

The Hana Professional Flat Iron has glass-smooth ceramic-tourmaline plates which helps to seal in the natural oils for a conditioned, sleek look that lasts all day. It also features damp-to-dry styling (which is a must for a busy mom like me), it also features floating plates that self adjust to different textures and has an adjustable temperature. We tried this out by using it not only on me but Lyric as well. As you can see from the before and after pictures, even without straightening products, the Hana Professional Flat Iron did a remarkable job straightening her curly hair.

I really like the fact that this flat iron does provide a maximum frizz-free conditioning shine (as you can see from the pictures), and I also love the adjustable temperature dial that has 5 settings ranging from 140-450° F, so when doing my hair and my daughters hair, I can adjust the temperature easily for each of us. The Hana Professional Flat Iron also includes a Luxe heat proof storage pouch, heat proof silicone mat, and special edition tin case, it also carries a two year warranty.

I've been looking for flat irons from a Chi Flat Iron, FHI Flat Iron to replace my cheap Revlon flat iron and the Hana Elite is a clear winner and high preference over the other, plugging it in and turning it on provides a quick heat up and the on/off switch is very easy to find. It also didn’t snag my daughters hair like my previous iron; even at the lower setting it did a very good job.

I highly recommend if you’re looking for a new flat iron to check out the Hana Professional Flat Iron by visiting www.misikko.com. I do also have to give them praise on their very fast shipping, if you notice, they also give you free shipping if you order from them.

Product was provided to me from Misikko. Opinions are strictly those of the author of A Wrestling Addicted Mommy; please see my disclosure policy for more information.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: SodaStream

I'm not really a big soda drinker, no one in my family is, but when I heard about SodaStream and had the chance to review their products, I was pretty excited. I mean come on, how cool is it to be able to make your own soda at home? I thought, pretty cool, so I opted to review their product.

We currently have the red SodaStream Genesis machine and a variety flavors in my home we've been having a great time trying and mixing new flavors of pop on our own, and well, probably drinking a lot more pop than we ever have, but it's so much fun, and we just love SodaStream! The ability to fizz up our own water and make soda or even seltzers with it, is such a great concept.

The value, as equally great! The Soda Value Starter Kit comes with your Soda Machine, 2 60 liter carbonators, 4 carbonating bottles and a variety of soda flavors in both regular and diet (your choice).

You can also buy the refills on the website sodastreamusa.com and the prices are pretty reasonable.

It's just so fun to be able to make soda in your own home with some tap water and a few presses on a button and some loud buzzing... Yes, that's something to warn you about. It scared the pants off me when I first used this. You pump the button a few times to carbonate your water and then you'll hear a loud BZZ (Aria my youngest likes to say it's tooting lol), it is pretty loud and may make you jump the first time you hear it, so be forewarned. Once you heard the loud buzzing sound pump it 3 times. Then you tilt the bottle back up and unscrew it from the unit, pour in your syrup and you're done!

The soda's? What about them, how do they taste? Well, with our family they were all approved by us and the kids. The Cola, root beer, ginger-ale, cranberry raspberry (my favorite), as well as the orange are all a hit in our home. I've also mixed a few flavors as well and hmm, they've come out pretty interesting. We'll be one to continue on with the club and hopes of buying another starter kit as a gift for a few family members this coming Christmas.

You can visit www.sodastreamusa.com for more information about their products.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: My Baby First Steps

Your baby has grown so fast! Can you believe that a year has already gone by? Take care of your baby from their 1st birthday until they’re 3 years old. Your baby will discover its entire environment and learn from it, they’ll walk, babble and speak, try to catch every object they can, and put everything in their mouth… Your baby will be the apple of your eye!

That’s the description of the new game from SouthPeak Games called My Baby First Steps. My girls are both big fans of the first installment of the My Baby Girl (or Boy) games, so when we were asked to review the My First Steps game we were happy to do so. The game not only is fun, but it teaches some responsibilities as well.

Check out the trailer below for the game:

First the girls were to ‘create’ their baby girl and my oldest named it after her sister (go figure). Not only do you play with your baby, but you have to feed, entertain and basically take care of all the needs, almost like a real baby! You keep track of their developments in their progress book and the only real object of the game is to take care of your baby. No special codes, no games, nothing to unlock.

The game was easy enough for my 3 and 6 year old to figure out and play with on their Nintendo DS, but the game is also available for the Nintendo Wii as well. My youngest daughter would get mad at the baby when it started crying so much and all I could do was chuckle.

This is a super cute and fun game, you can purchase My Baby First Steps for both the Nintendo Wii and DS for $29.99.

Product was provided to me from SouthPeak games. Opinions are strictly those of the author of A Wrestling Addicted Mommy; please see my disclosure policy for more information.

Holiday Gift Guide Home Decorating: 100 Ornament Sets

We’ve got our tree up but something was missing…. ORNAMENTS!!!

Now I’ve gotten a lot of hand me downs, and threw a lot of them away because they were just old and ick. Over the years with the girls being so young so many broke, or we’re missing pieces etc so it was time to get some new ones. Besides with a new tree you have to have new ornaments.

Christmas Lights Etc. was the perfect place to go shop online for a new set of Christmas Ornaments. Their newest addition to all of their wonderful Christmas decorations was the new 100 count Christmas Ornament sets (starting at $37.99).

We decided on the set with the cherry, red and black colors and couldn’t wait for them to arrive; once they did I got the box right open to decorate my naked tree.

The colors were great and vibrant, no chips or loss of anything they were all intact. My biggest complaint and this is with most ornament sets that you buy, is that it didn’t come with any hooks. Some of the ornaments came with a tie of some sort, but others that needed a hook didn’t come with them so I had to search and search for remaining hooks that I had, luckily they weren’t far and right in my Christmas box.

The ornaments provided a great look to our tree and we’re so happy with them. They also do have other colors of the sets as well with various ornament shapes and sizes.

Christmas Lights Etc. are not only providers of some great ornaments but they can provide you with just about all of your needs for your Christmas decorating this year.

For more information about the ornament sets, or to see some of their other great Christmas decorations visit their website at christmaslightsetc.com.

Holiday Gift Guide Gifts for Children: Green Toys Indoor Gardening Kit

My oldest daughter is into gardening, she planted her very first vegetable garden this year and decided to plant way too many things, needless to say it didn’t work out so great, but hey she learns from her mistakes and that’s what I love to see, her learning.
When I was offered to review a product from Green Toys I couldn’t resist the Indoor Gardening Kit for her.

The Indoor Gardening Kit is like most of the other toys from Green Toys in which they are eco-friendly and the pieces of the kit are made from 100% recycled milk jugs, they also don’t contain any Phthalates, BPA or external coatings.

With 3 planting pots, a planter tray, a trowel, soil pellets and 3 packets of organic seeds the gardening kit has everything a little gardener could dream of and with winter on the way, allowing her to have the ability to grow sunflowers, basil and zinnia indoors is so exciting to her.

It’s fun to teach both of the girls about gardening, and how things grow. Placing the planter near the window allows them to watch their plants grow each day. This is a great educational toy for kids, and would be perfect for those who are interested in gardening or just how things grow.

The Indoor Gardening Kit retails for $19.99 at most retailers. You can find out more information about this toy or so many others and where to purchase them by visiting www.greentoys.com.

Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: Roku Digital HD Video Player

Since we got rid of our satellite TV and premium channels, I do miss the availability of movies I had and was able to watch whenever I wanted; digital cable is just not the same. We threw around the idea of getting a Netflix subscription so that we could rent movies easily on DVD, but with kids, my big worry was them breaking/ruining those DVDs so we decided against that as well.

This is why I was so excited to be able to review the Roku Digital Player. This small little magical box sends you quality (and some HD) streams right over the internet to your television. We did have to purchase a subscription to Netflix which was fine by me, our $8.99 a month subscription with the Roku player gives us unlimited access to instant movies and even TV series to watch whenever we please and we still have the ability to order DVDs if we wished to as well. We also have access to Amazon’s Video On Demand movies and shows as well.

The setup was fast and easy, you just plug it into the wall, grab the HDMI cable and plug it into the back of the Roku and TV and set up our WiFi and we were ready to start watching. Cables are provided for you if you don’t have an S-Video or HDMI cable.

We’ve already watched a ton of movies and TV show series. I love that I can watch some old TV shows that I haven’t seen in years, I just finished the entire series of Gimme A Break, and me and the girls have just started watching the full series of Fraggle Rock as well. Hubby is enjoying being able to watch Law and Order SVU from beginning to season 10 right now, and the movies we get to watch are incredible. I think we watch things on the Roku player now, more than we watch actual TV.

The Roku Player also comes with a small remote, I think that’s the only downside to this great little box; the remote is small so I have lost it a few times.

With access to over 12,000 movies and TV shows on Netflix, and over 40,000 movies and TV shows on Amazon On Demand I don’t think you’ll ever run out of something to watch. It’s great having access on your TV instantly without having to wait for DVDs in the mail, or purchase movies one by one on Pay Per View.

The Roku Digital players start at $79.99 and would be the perfect gift for just about anyone this holiday season. I can’t see what we’d do without or Roku Player now; it’s definitely one of our most loved electronics! You can find more information by visiting www.roku.com or finding them on Facebook and becoming a fan.
