It’s been a long week it seems already, and it’s only Wednesday!!! I’ve missed a few days of blogging; it’s just been hectic around the house and a lot going on.
My dad is still in the hospital, we have hopes that he’ll be coming home today. A bit of an update, he’s got multiple blockages in his arteries, they still need to do an angioplasty to determine how bad and where they all are, however that’s on hold for a while. They also took a look at his liver and found it to be enlarged but it’s nothing the doctor is worrying about at this time.
While in the hospital he had a gallbladder attack, which is what I’m thinking caused this whole issue in the first place (I have gallbladder issues as well). His gallbladder is inflamed and infected and he’s got gallstones as well. So, for now, they have him on antibiotics and they’ve got a drainage tube in his gallbladder to drain the infection. Once the infection is all out, they’ll do an angioplasty and work on his heart and blockages first, then in a few months they’ll go back in
again and take out his gallbladder.
What a mess!! I feel so bad for my dad, he’s not the type to want to be laid up and in a hospital, I know none of us are, but this has to be really bothering him, especially since he just bought new property and has to fix and clean it up etc. etc. He’s already said a few times how stressed out he is because of all the work he has to do and doesn’t have the time to be laid up in bed.
Looks like we’ll be heading there next weekend hopefully for a visit, we’ve all had colds this week and I didn’t want to head up there and visit him in the hospital while we’re being sick. This is a pretty big deal, it’s not like his body is just a bunch of Mopar parts or something, this is his heart we’re talking about and now he’ll have to have 2 different surgeries to fix him up.
It’s so tough not being able to be there, but I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this stressful time!

I'm glad they've discovered what's going on and hopefully he'll be on the mend very soon. It's good they caught that infection in the gallbladder. I had to have mine out in my early/mid 20s and by the time I got to the hospital it was gangreened. (Please forgive the misspelling.) Wasn't a pretty situation and I have the scar to prove it. Was so bad that I wasn't eligible for the laser surgery.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and try not to worry too much.
It's a good thing that the hospital was able to pinpoint his condition so that they can take preventative measures. Here's to a speedy recovery for your Dad.
Hugs
