Holiday Gift Guide A Gift For Everyone: Powermat

My hubby was so excited for this next review. We’re both gadget geeks but he’s probably 100% more of a gadget geek than I am, this man lives for gadgets and technology! I had heard about the Powermat from him a while ago, and he was super excited about it, so when I told him I had the chance to review the Powermat he was jumping for joy!

If you haven’t seen or heard about the Powermat yet you’ve been missing out. This is the new, revolutionary way to charge almost all of your devices! I’m talking cell phones, headsets, even Nintendo DS! How many of you are like us and have multiple cell phones, and other electronic devices that require charging daily? I bet there’s a bunch of you, and if your like me I hate…Hate…HATE seeing all those wires everywhere all tangled up, it just screams fire hazard to me! Well the Powermat is the solution to that problem with their new wireless magnetic technology that will charge all of your devices.

There are two different Powermats available for sale at this time, a home/office mat as well as a travel mat for on the go. Powermat charges your devices by allowing you to add a receiver/case or by using tips/adapters to your device and simply placing it on the mat, it’s that simple! At first I was a little put off about putting new backing on my Blackberry which would allow me to place it on the mat to be charged but after I’ve noticed the ease of charging, with no wires it no longer bothers me. However, if you choose not to use the receiver on your device or they don’t have one for your device yet, not to worry the universal receiver and many different tips will allow almost any device to be charged on the Powermat.

The Powermat retails for $99.99 and comes with 1 universal power cube and 8 different tips. With the power mat you can charge up to 3 different devices on each mat. Specific receivers for your device start at $39.99; currently receivers are available for: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod, Blackberry Curve 8300, Blackberry Curve 8900, Blackberry Bold, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite and many more to come! Just remember, if your device isn't listed there, the universal power cube and tips are your best bet to charging your device with the Powermat.

Check out how simple it is to use the Powermat...

We’re just in love with our Powermats! We’ve taken our travel mat with us when we’ve traveled and it’s so much easier than remembering individual chargers when we leave, and when we’re returning. It’s also easy for my girls to just plop their Nintendo DS directly on the charger rather than having to find a plug. No cords is a big plus for me, it looks nice and need on our bedroom dresser with just 1 mat, 1 area for charging our phones.

The only downside is the case that comes with the tips, we did find that it took a lot of maneuvering to get all the tips to fit inside, even after we did that, we noticed that the larger tip (for iPods) really can’t be in the case for them all to fit, I’d love to see a larger portable case that fits all of the tips at the same time.
