Excuse my non-posting for a few days...

I just had 3 wisdom teeth pulled today, so I highly doubt I'm going to be in a blogging mood much at all the next few days, but I didn't want to just disappear into no where.

I have some giveaway winners to announce so i'll do that a bit later, I just wanted to quickly hop on and explain my brief absence.

Thanks!

6 years ago today...

I gave birth to my first baby girl! It's so odd in a way how fast time just flies by, I can remember just yesterday getting pregnant with her, and then being at the hospital giving birth, now it's 6 years later and I have a little girl, no longer a baby, who's got her own mind, her own ways, her own independence, doing things on her own, going to school...

It's crazy!!!! Time just zooms by, now we have two little girls who are growing up before our eyes. But I'd like to wish my first born a very Happy 6th Birthday, even though her and myself are sick today, I hope we can make this birthday the best we can.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYRIC!!!

Some great deals!!

I just wanted to pass on a couple of great deals I just took advantage of myself.

If you've been trying to get one of those great Vado Pocket Video Cam's from Creative Labs now's the chance to scoop one up just in time to tuck back for Christmas. You can find the video cam at dell.com for $39.99 today (reg. $84.99) and get FREE SHIPPING as well... No coupon codes nothing, just click on the link and you're on your way to a great deal. The cam's are available in pink or silver.

The other great deal I took advantage of is purchasing the new Snow White Blu-Ray/DVD combo from amazon.com. If you pre-order Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + BD Live w/ Blu-ray packaging), use the promo code snowhite and you'll get $10.00 off the purchase price, so instead of getting the dvd for the advertised price of $24.99 you'll grab it for $14.99. I grabbed this for the girls for one of their Christmas Gifts since they've been talking about it so much, and it's one of my favorite Disney movies as well.

Hope you enjoy the deals!

Keep prying hands and eyes away from adult toys...

**Disclaimer: Some images and content may not be appropriate for younger viewers. This post is for Adults 18 years of age and older and may not be safe for work viewing**

I’m sure many of you have seen my previous posts about all my lovely adult toys that I currently own, and believe me there’s more to the collection than just what’s written about on my blog. As the girls get older, and raid through my things more and more, I have to start thinking of a place to keep these things, hidden away. Currently we use a big plastic tote on the floor of our closet, but it’s not the greatest option and it’s not secure, we need something with a lock, something that’s going to keep little prying eyes out of it!

Thanks to Eden Fantasys, I was introduced to the For Your Nymphomation Sex Toy Case. This really cute, fashionable storage solution is a hard case which also comes with a lock and key set. There’s no way at first glance anyone would even guess what was inside. It’s nice and discreet and the best part….secure! Little prying eyes or hands can’t open it without a set of keys (which I keep locked up inside of our safe!).

The For Your Nymphomation Sex Toy Case comes in a variety of colors to suit your taste and style. You’ve now got the ability to hide some of those adult videos (up to 8 dvd’s), adult magazines (up to a 2” stack) or some of your adult toys and accessories. The case measures 12” wide and 10” long and is about 3.5” deep, not only is it a perfect little discreet case for your home, but it’s also perfect for travel!

When you open the case you’ll find an elastic band at the top which is divided into sections so it will allow you to store toys of multiple shapes and sizes or ‘accessories’ like massage oils, lube or even condoms. You’ll also find a pouch on the top/lid of the case to store various other items of all different sizes.

This case is great! Although with my sex toys collection I definitely need something larger, or just more than one of these cases, but it’s a great start to start hiding away and locking away some of our adult items. I love the fact that the case doesn’t look like it’s a sex toy chest, honestly it looks like it could be a makeup case or something along those lines. It’s small enough and discreet to take with you when you travel, and if it’s left out when you’ve got company in your house, no one will be the wiser or even think to ask, “What’s in there?”

For more information on the For Your Nyphomation Sexy Toy Case or to view the various other sex toy cases available visit edenfantasys.com.

Daily Freebies...

You know what I wish I could find.... A freebie for new kitchen faucets, not that that's ever going to happen, but I really hate our current one, it drips, I have no idea how to fix it, something about tightening a washer or something, yea don't talk to me about that, I'm not a handy woman by any means. I'm just getting sick of the wasted water, wasted money and the constant drip drip drip I keep hearing. Gotta kick hubby in the butt and get him on that to get it fixed ASAP, because it doesn't look like I'll be getting a new one anytime soon! Oh well, enough of my blabbering... Onto your daily freebies!

What a week!

What a week this has been, sorry I haven't been around much. With the crayon fiasco and then I wasn't feeling well, then my oldest wasn't feeling well, now my youngest is laying down beside me not feeling well, it's been a busy week! At least for me, being sick means not having to worry about weight loss supplements for a little while.

Yesterday I had to step out yesterday to pick up some things for my daughters 6th birthday this Sunday as well as picking up cupcakes for her class for snack today to celebrate her birthday.

One thing I"m thankful for, no restrictions what what we can and cannot bring into her class to eat! They could have been homemade, or store bought but with the way our week went I just couldn't find the time or energy to whip up 24 cupcakes for her class.....

Thankfully I was able to get the crayon out of a few things this week but we still lost 2 dress shirts, a Toronto Maple Leaf's jersey, an Italy soccer jersey, and a few pairs of jeans which I'm not worried about because they were just the girls play clothes anyways. I did get a little upset about the jersey's they were pretty special so now I have to replace those for sure.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips!!! With the tons of oxy clean, tide stain release, detergent, and WD-40, some of the crayon finally came out. The only thing left I still have to tackle is the dryer, right now I've just been hang drying because I've been too tired to do the dryer, but if my youngest falls asleep I just might find the time to do a little of that today since I"m feeling better.

A Frigidaire Announcment!

Today is an exciting day in the Frigidaire world; they just announced their new celebrity ambassador! They chose none other than the very sweet celebrity yet fellow mom Jennifer Garner, which I think is a great choice!

Jennifer is introducing Frigidaire’s new line of appliances, designed with features that help Moms save time in their busy schedules. Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner are also challenging other mom’s to pledge a bit of our own time to help children in need by introducing their “Make Time for CHANGE” campaign which supports Save the Children’s U.S. programs that are dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives.

Frigidaire and Garner are asking Moms to think ahead to November 1st – the day all of us change the clocks and get an extra hour – and pledge to use that time to help make a difference in the lives of children. Save the Children created the CHANGE program (Creating Healthy, Active, and Nurturing Growing-up Environments) to promote healthier lifestyles for children living in poverty by providing nutritious snacks and regular opportunities for them to be physically active.

Starting today, everyone who goes to Frigidaire.com and raises her hand with a pledge to make time for a child, will commit Frigidaire to donate $1 to support the CHANGE. As an added bonus, everyone who pledges her time will be entered for a chance to win a new Frigidaire Professional double wall oven.

But wait! There’s a second chance to enter to win a Frigidaire professional double wall oven as well, just head over to the giveaway on the Mom Central Community by clicking HERE! All you have to do to enter is to tell them about your pledge and how you would give back your time to children in need. Mom Central will pick one lucky winner in a random drawing from all entries received!

If you could please help me out...

This would make my day! Never mind that it looks like I'm going to have to replace all the clothes that have crayon all over them because NOTHING is helping... NOTHING! I just found some WD-40 and now I have a headache and it's not helping either...

ARGHHHH!!!!

Anyways, if you (and any of your family/friends) could click on the following link for me, it would be appreciated, I could win $500 and buy some new clothes....Don't worry, it's not spam, no web site directories or anything of the sort, just a great video to show you just how the new Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry sheets work!

www.thissheetworks.com/gina_turner

Thanks in Advance!!

Living in crayon HELL!!!

Anyone with kids and a husband knows you got to check the pockets before you put the laundry in. Cell Phones, wallets, business cards etc. etc anything important or non essential to the laundry could be hiding in there, that’s why I always check the pockets in things….Until last night..

Laundry needed to be done, some of the girl’s clothes and most of hubby’s work shirts were dirty so they all needed to be washed as well, with the exception of maybe 1 or two of his dress shirts that he wears for work, so into the wash they went last night. I was super tired so I asked hubby to put the laundry in the wash into the dryer for me which he did.

This morning getting the girls ready to head to school, making sure my oldest had every hair in place because today is in fact picture day at school, I hear yelling and screaming and cuss words and my name coming from downstairs. I can be honest with you, I didn’t rush down, in fact I almost ignored him at first, once the girls were ready I headed down to see what the dramatic issue was, I’m figuring it flooded downstairs, something with the water heater something to do with the house or appliances, but I was wrong, it was much worse (from the dramatics coming out of hubby’s mouth) every single piece of clothing now looked like the colors of the rainbow! Ty-dyed with red, blue and yellow blotches all over everything from my daughter’s jeans, socks, Toronto Maple Leaf’s hockey jersey to every single dress shirt hubby owns (basically) and wears to work.

Uhoh!

We now are the proud owners of a rainbow colored dryer and rainbow colored clothing! YAY! This is not fun, I’ve been trying all morning to get this darn crayon out of the clothes, soaking it in hot water with oxy clean and tide stain booster then washing it to realize nothing came out! Soaking again we go! I decided to hop online and vent via Twitter and Facebook and then head over to trusty old Google to find the mystery miracle that’s going to save our clothing and dryer while the clothes are soaking in hot water, detergent, Oxyclean and Tide stain booster again.

I get a tip from my friend Natalie at Red Sox Mom to try WD-40 on the clothes, something I don’t have right now, so if none of this works hubby will be picking up some of that on his way home. I got most of the crayon off the dryer already just by turning it on for a bit to warm up the crayon and wiping it down, although there’s still stains within the dryer, so it looks like I’ll be picking up a new Magic Eraser as well to see if that gets the rest of the stains out of there.

I’ve found solutions online from WD-40 to parchment paper. That I do have so I took a shirt and took some parchment paper and headed upstairs to the ironing board and went to town, trying to get this darn crayon to lift off the shirt and onto the parchment paper…. I tried, and tried, and tried and tried…. It didn’t work! The only thing it did was lift some crayon right onto the ironing board so now I have crayon on the shirt AND the ironing board and NOTHING on the parchment paper! I’m going to SCREAM!!!!!!

The clothes are going to take FOREVER to clean, it's not something that's just going to take a bit of natural baby products detergent or regular detergent alone is going to help with, that's if they get clean at all, if not, that’s hundreds of dollars worth of clothing that’s going to be put into the trash, I am not looking forward to that since we’re broke right now and hubby needs shirts for work daily, one or two isn’t going to cut it.

Anyone have any tips for the clothing or the dryer? How to banish the crayon for good from both?

I think I may just get hubby to pick up a giant bottle of wine for me tonight as well, because this is going to be one heck of a day I can already tell!

Our wonderful run in with the cops...

Over Labor Day weekend we decided to take the girls up to Canada for the long weekend. One last little ‘vacation’ of sorts before the summer ended. On a whim we decided to take the girls and my best friend and head to Toronto to go to The Canadian National Exhibition for the day.

Trying to head out early probably around 9am or so we got on the road and made our way to Toronto, but first we realized we had to gas up the car, so we pulled into the Shell gas station which was located on Centennial Parkway and Queenston Road in Stoney Creek Ontario. As per usual (and we've done this with this station before with no issues) our Visa card being American doesn't process correctly within the Interac system in Canada, it always thinks it’s a debit card when it’s clearly a credit card, so in order for it to be used and processed correctly it must be manually processed via an imprint machine and authorization number.

We have never had an issue with this before at this station or at any other's we've been to and are always upfront with the cashier on why it won't process with the Interac system. On this occasion we did the same thing but the clerk refused to listen to us and kept trying it through the Interac System. My husband once again explained to her what she must do and she said no I won't do that today. He came out to the car and I went in to see what the issue was, she stated we should have passed it through the pump and she tried enough times she wasn't going to do it manually today. I said we have never had an issue before with this station doing it, she said and I quote “well I will not do that today”.

I asked her for her manager or the owner's information and she had stated that she was the manager and the owner and she would not give me information. I then asked her name and then she became VERY rude when I asked for a business card, she said she didn't have one. I then stated that I would like the corporate number and she gave me the local Hamilton number for that gas station thinking I was dumb. When I called her out on it she again got VERY rude and belligerent. I once again asked for the corporate number and she proceeded to literally THROW credit card pamphlets in my face and told me to find it myself.

At this point we were just trying to pay for our gas and get out of there but after this rudeness of being called names, had pamphlets thrown in my face and then told I am not a Canadian because Canadian's do not act this way. I then proceeded to tell her to take her foreign self back to her own country. Rude on my part yes but I was fuming mad, shaking and almost out of breath at this point you'd think I had mesothelioma and after the way she treated me and my husband, it's surprising I didn't say worse.

My husband finally found a bank machine that would work with our Visa card, which is usually a hit or miss, and paid cash for our gas when she REFUSED to give us a receipt. She then told us to GET OUT OF HER STORE and then called the police. As I had two children in the car, and we had done nothing wrong we waited outside for the police to arrive.

My friend (who is Asian and was very upset by the following statements) got out of the car and went into the store to see if she could find out why the police were called and if we needed to stay. The woman then told her to get out of her store and my friend was being very nice to her, trying to find out what we should do. The lady then repeated to her very rudely "get out of my store, do you not understand English? How many more times do I have to repeat this in English for you?" At that time my friend left and we waited for the police.

The police came, we explained the entire situation and they were pretty mad that they were called out for this thinking it was a drive off when it wasn't. They said it was not a police matter; the woman then proceeded to tell the police that my husband threatened her and she was fearful. The police basically laughed at her and told us just to leave and not to bother with that station anymore, that they were sorry and unfortunately they can't fix people with bad business practices and to have a nice trip.

I can’t believe this woman and the way she runs her business and treats her customers. I’ve since alerted all of my family and friends in the area about this station and her rudeness, we won’t be visiting at least that Shell station EVER again. What a day that was, one I’ll never forget! I did contact their corporate office via email once we returned, which basically was a waste of my time since all I really got was a generic we're sorry message.

Ringling Bros. Circus!

I’m not a huge fan of the circus. It’s been many many years since I’ve been to one. My girls have never been to one either, but they’ve been asking lately and I just might have to break down and take them, just so they have the experience at least once in their life.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is underway and I know my girls would enjoy the show, as a mom to keep my kiddos happy I’ll just have to suck it up and head out the door with them and enjoy the fun and enjoyment (and smells lol) of the circus!

Right now Mom Central is extending a really great and special family offer for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey shows. When purchasing your tickets look for the box marked “MC Promotion”.

• Offer #1: Get 4 tickets for just $44 by entering the code "MOM" at select ticketing channels. Offer good on all weekday performances, which includes all weekday evening and Friday matinee performances; minimum purchase of 4 tickets required; additional tickets above 4 can be purchased at $11 each.

• Offer #2: All weekend performance tickets will be $4 off the original price.

Come Together with Macy's and Feeding America

Macy’s, one of my favorite department stores! They’ve started a great fundraising campaign called Come Together that aims to feed 10 million people suffering from hunger.

Macy’s and the Come Together campaign are inviting everyone to rally around the cause by hosting special dinners in their homes and asking their guests to pledge a donation to feeding America. In return, Macy’s will match these donations dollar-for-dollar until the goal of 10 million meals is reached!

Here’s how you can get involved and participate in this great cause:

HOST- Friends and families across the country can host dinner parties from casual to formal, send invitations and manage party details including themes and recipes on www.macys.com/cometogether. In lieu of bringing traditional host gifts, guests are suggested to make a donation to Feeding America.

GIVE – Donate $1 directly at any Macy’s register, one dollar provides dinner for seven.

SHOP - Macy’s customers can shop for the cause and get special savings in-store on October 17, when Macy’s hosts a national Shop For A Cause day. A portion of the $5 in-store ticket sales will benefit Feeding America.

I’m sure by now everyone has seen the TV spots featuring Macy’s ‘Star’ designers urging you to get involved in this great campaign. Also, on top of the 10 million meals Macy’s is also donating 1 meal for every Twitter follower they get up to 35,000 followers by 10/20. So be sure to follow @macysinc as well.

So Come Together and help feed those who are hungry! Visit www.macys.com/cometogether for more information.

A look back, into the future!

Taking a look back into the future, AT&T ads from 1993 are a little creepy, sort of. Technology has come such a long way, but 16 years ago, they were predicting what our life would be like now. How many of the products in this ad can you say you’ve already had and are not obsolete, or currently have yourself or in your home.

Gift For Him

Slick Shave Gel, produces the closest, most comfortable shave of any product on the market. The unique formula lifts and weakens hair so the razor cuts a blunt end rather than leaving a pointed end exposed. The blunt cut is less likely to penetrate back into the skin. The lubricants (glycerin and lanolin) produce a slick lather that reduces the drag of a razor. The hair dries straight, resisting natural curl that can cause ingrown hairs and ‘razor bumps’.

Smooth! Skin Therapy is a patented formula that straightens and strengthens hair, realigns hair follicles, and softens skin that can be a barrier to secondary hair growth. This all natural formula contains no acids, alcohol, aspirin, or steroids. Mink oil heels and penetrates deep into the skin
