Release their inner artist

My girls are so crafty and artistic; they could do crafts or artsy stuff for hours on end. Myself, I’m not into crafts so much so when an idea comes along where I don’t have to think so much about an activity for the girls to do, I’m all over it!

ColorMe Company has just the thing for my girls. They offer fun coloring activities for kids that aren’t your normal ‘free printable’ coloring pages. ColorMe Company offers great projects ranging from greeting cards, pillow cases and even T-shits for your kids to be able to put their creativity into something they can call their own.

Letting the girls have the ability to color their own pillow case and T-Shirt, something they could use and display their artwork was a great surprise to them; they had so much fun creating their own little item and were so proud of their work once they were done.

I was a bit worried how long the color would be staying on both the pillow case and the shirt, but if you follow the directions right, you’ll realize there’s nothing to worry about. The colors didn’t run, they stayed on there just as good and just as bright as the first day the girls colored them in. That was the last thing I wanted was for their cute work to go down the drain, literally!

These products would be great for sleepover activities, or even birthday parties, or just something to keep on hand at home for those rainy days indoors with nothing to do. Allowing kids to have some creativity of their own is an important thing, and allowing them to display their artwork will make them proud, they’ll be like my girls and just want to show anyone who will let them.

The ColorMe Company also believes that ‘giving is good’. They take 10% of their gross proceeds and donate them to different children’s charities through a program they have called Charity Choice Program. As a consumer when ordering their products you can select from a menu of charitable categories that are available. On a quarterly basis the funds are distributed to these organizations.

They also have a section on their website where you can submit your child's artwork with their ColorMe Company product. Just check out how to become a ColorMe artist.

You can check out more products and information about The ColorMe Company by visiting their website colormecompany.com

A wonderful scent welcomes you...

I love nice smells in the air. Candles, oils, air fresheners you name it I have to have it in my home. Candles have become a danger in our home though with the kids around, and I’ve become a huge fan of my Glade Wisp Flameless Candle, but I’m always looking for great new ideas to freshen the air.

Glade
has come up with a great idea once again with their newest air freshener. The new Glade Sense & Spray. This new air freshener has a motion sensor that only releases the scent when there’s motion detected, well sometimes. I have noticed that light changes in the room will set it off as well, but no big deal. The great thing is, even if there are constant light changes, or motion around the freshener it’s only set to release a scent every 30 minutes. So you can wave your hands in front of it as much as you want. Once it’s sprayed it won’t do it again until 30 minutes passes, that is unless you hit the ‘boost’ button manually which will let you add a ‘boost’ of fragrance to the air whenever you think it’s needed.

I love the scent that we have. Clean Linen, it’s so fragrant but not enough to knock you on your feet, it’s just right. The unit also comes in Lilly of the Valley scent and you can get refills in many other scents as well such as Magnolia & Vanilla, Apple Cinnamon, Country Garden and Powder Fresh.

We have ours placed near the front door, where there’s enough traffic to set it off, but not too much to set the fragrance off EVERY 30 minutes. I really love the motion sensor addition to this, what a great idea, and when you walk through the door, you get a burst of a clean, fresh scent. Right now Glade is also offering a buy one Glade Sense & Spray get one free coupon on their website, you can find it here.

WIN IT!!!

How would you like to have your home smelling fresh? You have the opportunity to win yourself a Glade Sense & Spray air freshener right here. One lucky winner will be able to have their home smelling fresh and clean thanks to Glade. Leave me a comment letting me know where in your home you’d use the new Glade Sense & spray.

A House Full of Sickies...

A few weeks ago the entire house was sick, what's worse than that? The girls were miserable and couldn't breath, had so much congestion it was just not a fun time.

Thankfully Vicks came to the rescue. The first thing to do was make sure the girls were comfortable while they slept. The Vicks GermFree Humidifier was first on my list to drag out. Simple set up, easy to use and nice and quite while they sleep. There's two tanks, one on each side so that you know you're humidifier will work well past the night. There's also a patented UV light chamber that kills up to 99.999% of bacteria, mold and spores in the water vapor that enters the air. There's also a spot for the use of Vicks VapoSteam which is placed inside of a small cup on the top of the humidifier. The level of humidity is also controlled by a knob on the front of the humidifier which is great. I can see why pediatricians recommend running a humidifier to help sooth cough symptoms and clear up stuffed noses, the girls were sleeping soundly all night.

One of the things I love to use when the girls are sick is the Vicks Soothing Vapors, when you don't have the Vicks VapoSteam to place inside a humidifier the Soothing Vapors are great, they just plug into any wall outlet and give you the soothing vapors of Vicks as they clear your airways and let you sleep soundly. As a family when we're sick you'll find one of these in everyone's bedrooms. There's also a little green glow that comes along with it so it's great for a nightlight for a child's room. They're easy to refill and they come with 5 pads to start out with and each pad lasts up to 8 hours.

My newest love though has to be the Vicks Digital ComfortFlex Fever InSight Thermometer. I'm a worry wart and am always curious how high of a fever too high is, well now I don't have to worry about thinking when I take a temperature, this is also perfect for new parents who often worry about temperatures as well. The thermometer helps you determine when a fever is getting better or worse simply by the color changing display. The readings are very accurate and give you a reading in about 8 seconds. There's even a memory recall to help you keep track. This thermometer has given me a piece of mind and takes the worry out of taking a fever.

All these great advances in technology for when it comes to being sick, makes it just a little more comfortable and easy to bare.

Balance for Children

Water....It's one thing I probably don't drink enough of. I'm pushing myself to drink at least 64oz a day, and for me that's a big struggle. I don't know what it is, but water just doesn't do it for me. This year is a new year and a time for a healthier me, so water is going to be a big deal in this house from now on. Thankfully my girls are a little different from me. They'll drink whatever you give them, even if it is *gasp* plain ol' water!

Balance Water Company
has provided mom's with a great bottled water, Balance for Children. Now I know your probably thinking about what flavors the water comes in since it is for kids, but there isn't any flavors to the water, it's just that....water. There's no flavors, colors, preservatives, artificial additives, sugar, or calories. What there is inside the water though, is very unique. Something I've never heard of or seen in water before. In Balance for Children water you will find 4 different Australian flower essences, yes that's right... Flowers! Balance for Children uses the essence of the Bush Fuchsia, Crowea, Black-Eyed Susan and Paw-Paw which all help restore balance and promote calmness and focus in children without disrupting their natural energy.

I was a little standoffish at first, I mean, flowers in the water? It said that there was no flavor but I just couldn't help but think of there being any, so the mean mom that I am had the girls try it out first. Hey, it's kids water best have the kids try it first right?! Well after no yucky faces and them just saying “Ahhh cold water” I decided to try a bottle myself. To my surprise, there's no flavor, no aftertaste, it just tastes like clean, refreshing water. In our pack of 6 bottles the girls ran through them quickly, they loved the easy to hold bottles and the ability to have bottled water all for themselves.

Balance for Children comes in a colorful 6 pack carrier which contains 6 – 13.5 fl oz (400 ml) bottles and retails for $7.49 - $7.99 in stores such as Toys R Us. Balance's complete line of products include: Balance for Women, Balance for the mind, Balance for travel and of course Balance for Children.

You can learn more about the Balance line of Waters by visiting their website balancewater.com

Early Risers....

I have a couple of early risers. Well, at least one of them. Lyric will get up at the butt crack of dawn some days, and although she entertains herself or decides to wake her sister up and they go watch TV, I still don't like the idea of them up so early by themselves, never mind that they're loud and wake us up.

I've found the greatest invention ever (in my eyes). The Kidsleep Clock! This is perfect if you have little ones like mine who get up out of bed at all hours. The clock has a digital clock attached to it, as well as a wake up indicator. Two disc's come with the clock, the one we used the most is the wake up one. Once you set the clock, you set an alarm as well, and it's not one of those noisy ones that scare you to death in the morning. The disc's are used as the alarm. Here's how it works.

There are two images on the first disc, the top half shows the bunny up and about, the bottom half shows the bunny sleeping. You set the time you want wake up to be (ours is set to 8am). When it's night time, you'll see the bunny sleeping is lit up, you'll continue to see the sleeping bunny lit up all night (it's just a glow, not a bright light) until 8am when the light will switch to the top image of the bunny walking about, that's when the kids know that it's now time to wake up and they can get out of bed!

This has worked GREAT in our house! The girls no longer get up until they see that bunny up and walking around, then they rush into our room and tell us it's time to get up...So I get a few more hours of sleep rather than just waking up at 6am....It helps at night time as well, they know if that bunny is in it's bed, that's where they need to be as well.

The clock also has a 2nd disc that can be used for a night light only for babies. The disc has an illustration of a little sleeping bunny on it and emits a low glow for the perfect night light for babies.

Once the kids are a little older, you can change the clock to having an actual alarm sound. The small bird chips emitted from the clock give a child a great wake up alarm that's not so loud it scares them. There's also the small digital clock on the side that they can now read to see what time it is. There's also additional faces/disc's that you can purchase with other characters on them.

I say this is a MUST HAVE for parents with toddlers or younger kids. A great gift for a baby shower as it can grow with the child. You can check out the Kidsleep clocks by visiting their website www.kid-sleep.com

The Potty Caddy

Thank goodness we're past the potty training stage. Aria just recently has showed us that she's fully potty trained. No more diapers, no more pull-ups! YAY! It feels so nice. We did it all on our own, well, she did it all on her own. I found it much easier to have Aria trained than it was Lyric. I guess she just wanted to be like her big sister.

We got lucky, however when Lyric was training I used all the books, dvd's and whatever else I could think of to get her interested in being potty trained. One thing I saw recently that I wish was around when we were training both the girls is The Potty Caddy. Unfortunately for me, I found it a little too late, fortunately for all those potty trainers or potty trainers to be, it's not too late for you to discover.

The Potty Caddy has everything you need to start your little one on their potty training adventure. Everything INCLUDING the toilet paper!

The Potty Caddy is a portable caddy for your child to take with them on their trips to the toilet, the toilet paper (once all used up) can be replaced with your regular roll you use at home. The caddy also comes with a chart and sticker (which works every time with kids). An odd thing I found.....Since I have 2 girls... Targets... Yes, the Potty Caddy has a set of toilet targets I guess to make some 'fun' out of potty training your little boy. Odd, to me at least, but whatever works! You'll also find a really cute illustrated book inside the caddy to help your child learn more about their new adventure by helping to answer questions they may have about the new potty/toilet and the process to make it a little less scary. There's also some really cute kid friendly mini magazines so your little one can be just like daddy sitting on the toilet reading. It's pretty darn cute!

I wish I had this around with my girls when they were training, it would have really helped encourage them and kept the training fun at the same time.

You can find out more about The Potty Caddy or purchase it for yourself by visiting Amazon.com

WIN IT!!!

You can win your very own Potty Caddy for your potty trainer. All you have to do is leave a comment about your potty training experience. It can be your own experience (if you remember) or that of training your children, can't think of anything? Well then just tell me why you need this Potty Caddy.

A Cupcake for you, A Cupcake for me...

Wondering what the perfect gift could be for that aspiring baker in your house? How about the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker from JAKKS Pacific!

Every kid loves baking cupcakes with their mom, and now your kids can do it just for themselves. My two are (or at least like to think they are) aspiring bakers and love to help mommy make cupcakes, cookies and whatever else we happen to be baking throughout the year especially at Christmas time when I tend to do the most. I was thrilled when I could give them the Girl Gourmet Cup Cake Maker to have some fun with.

The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker came with 4 different flavors of cupcakes to make: Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet and Cinnamon Sugar. Sounded yummy right from the start, oh and the mixes are WHEAT FREE for all those with allergies. Once the cupcake maker was taken out of the box it was ready to roll right away, the only thing we had to do was make the mixes and frost the cupcakes.

The cupcake mixes were so simple to start with that my girls were able to add the water themselves and then away they went to stirring and making their very own cupcakes. The cupcake maker even provided the measuring spoons and water dropper so that you could get your mix just perfect. Once they were mixed well we poured them into the cupcake paper and plastic baking dish and popped them in the microwave for around 30 seconds. Now yea, microwaved cupcakes don't sound that enticing but to a 3 year old and 5 year old, it was perfect for them.

We then started mixing the frosting (again just with water added) and put it into the frosting machine. Once the cupcakes were done we placed them underneath and pushed the leaver down to get that frosting out and onto the yummy cupcake. The machine rotates the cupcake as the frosting comes out (which by the way, I do have to say didn't come out according to plan, it was kinda messy and runny), and then you can put the finishing touch on your cupcake with the included sprinkles.

My girls just love the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker and will be getting a few more mixes this Christmas to go with it. I honestly, didn't taste the cupcakes, they didn't turn out to appetizing for me, but the girls ate their freshly made cupcakes and enjoyed them with big smiles on their faces. They were so proud to make these on their own.

This is for sure one of the “Hot Toys” this Christmas that should be under the tree!

The Third Day of Christmas...

On the third day of Christmas A Wrestling Addicted Mommy gave to me....A pillow with a pretty pic of me!!!

The holidays are fast approaching, a lot of times you get stuck on what exactly to get a person. I know that for me, it's often a problem to figure out what to get the grandparents, or my in-laws.

This year I've had an easy solution to that problem by finding a place called Pic Street. Photo gift items are probably one of the best things to get in times like these, Grandparents always love to have pictures of their Grandkids or Great-Grandkids around so why not send them a picture in style? Let's say on the form of a pillow. I have to say the easy process and wonderful outcome was a surprise. You sometimes worry about the quality of the picture on items but I was impressed with Pic Street as the picture on my Microsuede pillow came out perfectly (due to my computer being junk, I unfortunately don't have the picture of my pillow for you to view)! The process was so easy, just simply upload your favorite photo(s) to the Pic Street website and make your configuration on size and where you want the photo placed, it's that easy anyone could do it.

One of my favorite features especially as a mom with young kids, is that the microsuede pillow that I have, is stain resistant! How great is that, it's so soft and comes in a variety of colors as well. The other plus is that the pillow sham is washable and is also hypoallergenic (100% polyester pillow insert).

Pic Street also has other photo gift ideas as well such as jewelery, purses, wall hangings, belts, wallets and much more. Visit www.picstreet.com to check out their entire selection and upload your favorite picture on an item today, what a wonderful gift to give to someone special.

On my third day of Christmas, one lucky winner will receive a 16” suede or linen photo pillow from Pic Street (ARV $60). All you have to do is head over to the Pic Street website and take a look around, tell me what one of your favorite products are besides the pillows and who's picture you'd put on your pillow if you won.

Dust Free Electronics

We're a tech savvy household. I don't think that in our home there are many things that are not electronic in one shape or another. One thing that doesn't fair well with electronics is DUST! And for one reason or another dust is a common problem in my home, as much as I do dust it just seems to return, but with many of my electronics using sprays or some other cloths simply aren't good for the items themselves and can ruin them.

That's why I was happy to hear about the Weiman E-tronic wipes. These wipes were specifically designed just for your electronic items to keep off all that dust, fingerprints, dirt, and anything else that can be found on them (usually because of small children in your home). The E-tronic wipes not only repel dust and dirt but they also eliminate static from them and keep them streak free and lint free. The Weiman E-tronic Wipes are also ammonia-free so that harsh ammonia smell won't be found in your home or on your electronics.

With uses for most of your electronics like your TV's, computer screens, laptops, cell phones, telephones, stereo's and many many more you can tackle that dust without the worry of ruining your costly and precious electronic items.

The E-tronic wipes are no difference in size from your other typical cleaning wipes and even come in a great sealed canister to easily access each wipe and to keep them moist when not in use. In my opinion the wipes work great, and I was happy to finally see the dust taken off of my husbands laptop and my computer screen cleaner than ever.

With the holiday's on their way, one of the most given items as gifts is always something electronic, so why not head over to the Weiman website and add a package of the Weiman E-tronic wipes to that special gift as well.

Potty Training can be entertaining...

Potty training is not always fun for the child or even for the parent. I know potty training my youngest recently I’m always looking for new, better and fun ways to help her along the way.

I discovered a great potty training tool for young ones. It’s a DVD called Pocket Snails Potty Adventure. With funny characters, lots of sing along songs Pocket Snails is sure to provide your little ones with engaging and educational entertainment that will help with their potty training process.

The adventure provides a Potty Steps Map which allows the child to view and follow during the program and then match it up to their potty time routine. Jake and Wendy are the two main characters in the Potty Adventure DVD and with your child’s help they embark on their potty process step by step with encouragement and motivation to get your kids to say goodbye to those yucky diapers and hello to the potty!

My youngest is now fully trained. I can’t say if the video helped in that or not, but I can say that she did ‘get it’ and she enjoyed watching the Pocket Snails Potty Adventure DVD very much. I’m sure that any preschooler who’s trying to reach that next level would enjoy it.

Pocket Snails Potty Adventure has received recognition from very prestigious organizations including the NAPPA Honors Award, KIDS FIRST!® Endorsement - Coalition for Quality Children s Media, a 5-Star Rating from The Dove Foundation, the Seal of Approval as well as the Award of Excellence and Editors Choice Award from The Toy ManTM , and also Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children s Products Award for the entire Pocket Snails series as well as so many more. They’ve won over 25 awards in total to date.

You can purchase this great DVD for your little potty trainer and go on an ‘adventure’ with your child by visiting the Pocket Snails website at www.pocketsnails.com

WIN IT!!!

How would you like to win the Pocket Snails Potty Adventure DVD for your potty training child or someone you know? I’m giving 3 lucky readers a chance to win a DVD themselves. This Little Piggy....

I have a couple of girly girls. They love makeup, nail polish, getting their hair done, shoes and clothes it’s fun, but at times, like when I’m trying to do my own makeup and my own nails, it can become annoying because well, they want to join in too.

With things like my nail polish, I really hate to give it to them to try to do themselves, some of it takes a while to dry, and especially with my youngest, I really don’t like the fact that her fingers go in her mouth so much with nail polish on. I’ve now found a little solution to my problems for the girls, now they can have their own nail polish instead of trying to get into mine all the time.

Piggy Paint is a non-toxic fingernail polish made just for little girls (or boys too I guess). The inventor of piggy paint is a mom who a 2 year old and a 4 year old who, just like mine, love to get their fingernails painted, but she like myself was a bit worried about the toxins and the girls putting their freshly painted nails in their mouths, so she decided to come up with a polish that is not flammable and one that is water based with natural ingredients and made in the USA!

Piggy Paint is non-toxic, odorless, water based, hypoallergic and also comes in vibrant fun colors and dries as a hard finish. It also dries pretty quickly as well; we found that in about 60 seconds or less the paint was dry on the girl’s nails.

The girls loved their piggy paint and the fun colors it came in, if you check out the website they give some great tips and suggestions for putting Piggy Paint on your child’s nails as well as great ways to use Piggy Paint as a learning tool for children.

Piggy Paint also has their own nail polish remover as well that is also non-toxic, odorless, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, made from natural ingredients, and doesn’t contain any acetone. I was pretty impressed with the remover, and likely will use it for my own purposes as well because I can’t stand the smell of normal nail polish remover. Another plus is they’ve added Aloe Very and Vitamin E to the remover as well to supplement the natural oils that product nails and cuticles.

I think Piggy Paint would be a great stocking stuffer this year for Christmas. To check out all of their products and colors visit Piggy Paint via their website www.piggypaint.com

WIN IT!!!

Piggy Paint has provided me with one of their great gift sets for one of my readers. If you enter, one lucky reader has the chance to win the Mistletoes Gift Set which will include: a set of 3 Piggy Paint nail polish in red, green and clear sparkle top coat. As well a bottle of their Piggy Paint Remover will be included as well. To enter simply head over to Piggy Paint and let me know what your favorite color of nail polish that they offer is.

Boo Boo's Be Gone!

Being a mom you know about the scrapes and bumps and “boo boo’s” that go on in a child’s life. It seems that no matter the child they’re just attracted to getting hurt. I once thought with girls this wouldn’t be so much of an issue but I was horribly wrong.

My girls probably get as many scrapes, bruises and bump as any boy out there, if not more. They’re a bunch of klutz’s I’m telling you. Once one bump has healed another one seems to pop up out of nowhere.

Thankfully I have a little remedy now to help those tears from falling for long.
I’ve talked about The Happy Company (see review) before, well I have another product from them that makes their company even better! They’re not just for mom’s to ease our minds and relax us, but The Happy Company also provides comfort and relaxation (of sorts) for our children too. The Boo Boo Soother is almost like a magic patch in our home, once it’s brought out after a “boo boo” occurs the tears stop and the magic healing begins.

Ok so it’s not really magic but for kids, it seems like it. These cute little gel packs are great to have around the house for any and all “boo boo’s” that are going to happen. The Boo Boo Soother’s are little gel packs that you can keep in the fridge so they’re nice and cold for when they’re needed. The gel inserts are covered by a soft cotton pouch with cute and colorful graphics on them made just for kids. They’re also machine washable so that’s a plus for us moms.

If you’ve got the case of the “boo boo’s” at your home just like I do, the Boo Boo Soothers are a must have! With patterns for both boys and girls, they’ll be a welcome addition to the hugs and kisses that come after a fall. I’m sure your kids will enjoy them just as much as mine, instead of screaming and crying at the site of a small bump or bruise now they just run to the fridge, get out their boo boo soother and sit down on the couch with it on their boo boo for a while.

You can find out more about Boo Boo Soothers and where to purchase them by visiting the happy company on their website www.thehappycompany.com (you can find the Boo Boo Soothers under the Mommy and Me section).

WIN IT!

The Happy Company has provided A Wrestling Addicted Mommy with three (3) boo boo soother’s to giveaway. All you have to do is head on over to The Happy Company’s Website and take a look around, then come back and tell me which pattern of Boo Boo Soother’s you’d like if you won. Three winners will be chosen at random.

Beverages for kids

There are so many beverages out there right now that are geared towards kids. I’m finding more and more ‘water’ products available for kids now more than ever. Fortunately I have no real problems with getting either of my girls to drink water, but I know they’d much rather have some flavor to what they’re drinking, I don’t really worry about what they’re drinking so much right now (besides pop, that’s a TREAT if they get it.). The girls are nowhere NEAR overweight but we want to make sure that they make healthy choices even when it comes to their beverages.

Recently we got to try a beverage for kids called Bot. It’s a ‘water’ beverage designed as an alternative to high sugar fruit juice and other drinks your kids may be drinking. Bot Beverages contain 75% less sugar than juice and are only 40 calories per bottle (not that I think calories should even be a concern if your children are not overweight). It also comes in four different flavors: grape, orange, lemon and berry. We got to try all of them. Now, I’m not a fan of flavored water, so for me they were well, not very good so don’t take my judgment. Besides they were meant for kids. The girls tried all four flavors and they really did like them, they loved the orange and grape but weren’t big on the berry, and honestly they didn’t like the lemon at all although they did attempt to drink all of the flavors to give them a try you could clearly tell what their favorite flavors were.

The bottles are 100% recyclable and small enough for little hands and mouths. Bot Beverages are great in the way that they don’t sweeten their drinks with artificial sweeteners; they continue to use sugar, just less of it. It’s a great alternative to other drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade or other flavored waters that you might give your children there’s a lot less sugar and with the no artificial sweeteners that makes it even a better option for kids.

Bot also gives 1% of their annual revenue each year directly to an environmental organization that is part of the solution for a healthier planet. Last year they contributed The Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor, New Jersey.

It’s easy to mail off just about anyone or anything now thanks to PictureIt Postage. PictureIt Postage is a place where you can create your own stamp. You can use pictures of your children, yourself, your dog, anything you want.

I opted to create my own stamp with a picture of the girls once I got a chance to visit PictureIt Postage online. With just an upload of the picture and a few easy steps (which the website walks you through, anyone could do it) my stamp was created. Once your photo has been uploaded to the site, you have editing tools to use as well so you can make sure the stamp is perfect and just what you’re looking for, whether it be just changing the orientation, zooming in or out, or changing the color or adding text, PictureIt Postage makes sure that your stamp is one of a kind.

Once I completed my order shipping was very quick, I received my stamps in the mail within a few days, and I just love them.
