Wondering what the perfect gift could be for that aspiring baker in your house? How about the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker from JAKKS Pacific!
Every kid loves baking cupcakes with their mom, and now your kids can do it just for themselves. My two are (or at least like to think they are) aspiring bakers and love to help mommy make cupcakes, cookies and whatever else we happen to be baking throughout the year especially at Christmas time when I tend to do the most. I was thrilled when I could give them the Girl Gourmet Cup Cake Maker to have some fun with.
The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker came with 4 different flavors of cupcakes to make: Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet and Cinnamon Sugar. Sounded yummy right from the start, oh and the mixes are WHEAT FREE for all those with allergies. Once the cupcake maker was taken out of the box it was ready to roll right away, the only thing we had to do was make the mixes and frost the cupcakes.
The cupcake mixes were so simple to start with that my girls were able to add the water themselves and then away they went to stirring and making their very own cupcakes. The cupcake maker even provided the measuring spoons and water dropper so that you could get your mix just perfect. Once they were mixed well we poured them into the cupcake paper and plastic baking dish and popped them in the microwave for around 30 seconds. Now yea, microwaved cupcakes don't sound that enticing but to a 3 year old and 5 year old, it was perfect for them.
We then started mixing the frosting (again just with water added) and put it into the frosting machine. Once the cupcakes were done we placed them underneath and pushed the leaver down to get that frosting out and onto the yummy cupcake. The machine rotates the cupcake as the frosting comes out (which by the way, I do have to say didn't come out according to plan, it was kinda messy and runny), and then you can put the finishing touch on your cupcake with the included sprinkles.
My girls just love the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker and will be getting a few more mixes this Christmas to go with it. I honestly, didn't taste the cupcakes, they didn't turn out to appetizing for me, but the girls ate their freshly made cupcakes and enjoyed them with big smiles on their faces. They were so proud to make these on their own.
This is for sure one of the “Hot Toys” this Christmas that should be under the tree!
