Getting an education in todays economy...

With today’s economy it’s not hard to ask yourself if you should be looking for a different job, or even going back to school. With so many people worried about losing their current jobs, going back to school to train for something better is a viable option.

St. Joseph’s University is offering online management certificates in different field areas. A degree from a respected university, during your off time at home, may be something to look into. It’s hard to get a job right now, so maybe learning something new will prepare you for the future, or the ‘what if’ situation if you do lose your job.

Choose carefully when looking at online courses though, you want to make sure the university is accredited and respected in the working world. There’s nothing worse than having a degree on your resume from a joke of a school. St. Joseph’s University is not only respected but accredited and has many more online degree’s and certificates other than management programs, they also have PMP exam preparation courses which can help you as well.

Yoplait Kids...Get Healthy...Be Active!

I guess I can count myself lucky. My girls are overall pretty healthy eaters. I vowed to start them eating healthy at an early early age, and it’s just progressed as they’ve gotten older. Sure we still have those days were eating is a fight, or finishing their veggies is a struggle, but overall I’m pretty lucky with them, they get all the vitamins they need and thankfully enjoy and love most healthier foods.

Did you know that research has shown that fewer than half of kids aged two to 12 get the calcium they need each day? I can’t imagine that. In our house milk cheese and yogurt is a staple, so at least I know that I can count my kids out of that number. Calcium and Vitamin D are both essential nutrients for building strong bones. A lot of parents have a challenge when it comes to getting their growing kids enough Vitamin D, I know even we struggle with that since Vitamin D is found naturally in very few foods. But there is some help out there. Yoplait for Kids has made it easier to get your children the Vitamin D and calcium that they need in their diet.

My girls both really enjoy Yoplait Kids yogurts. Their favorite is the Vanilla and Banana Dora the Explorer Yogurt. It’s something that’s hard to keep around the house, they’ll eat it ever chance they get. So I’m glad to know that not only are they enjoying something healthy, but they’re also getting the extra calcium and Vitamin D that their growing bodies need!

Yoplait knows that kids not only need a healthy food lifestyle to keep growing, but they also need some physical activity as well. Eating healthy alone isn’t going to give you the strong bones and muscles you need to grow up big, strong and healthy, we all know some physical activity contributes to that as well, which is why Yoplait is encouraging kids to get active as well as eating healthy.

We were lucky enough to receive a great Get Active prize pack from Yoplait along with our money saving coupon. The girls and I cracked it right open and headed outside for some skipping and ball tossing for the afternoon, it was great fun! Make sure after you and your kids enjoy that great tasting Yoplait yogurt, you get outside and are active for a while, playing games, sports or whatever it is you and your family enjoy doing.

You can find our more about Yoplait Kids products by visiting their website www.yoplait.com and you can print out a great money saving coupon HERE for the next time you shop.

The Birth of Cornelius....

We’re big R&B fans in this house, my husband especially, so when I had the chance to check out this new artist named Corneille, I couldn’t wait to check I tout.

Corneille is the newest addition to Motown Records. Not only is he a talented singer, but he’s also a writer and producer as well as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and Red Cross Canada spokesperson. Corneille has a lot on his plate, not just his music.

To learn a little about the artist before listening to his music, I found that Corneille was from Rwanda and during the genocide in 1994 he escaped leaving his parents and other family members who ended up killed. He first escaped to Kinshasa and then to Germany where he was taken in by some family friends.

Since then he has taken his life, and his talents and used them in the greatest way he knows. Music! The Birth of Cornelius is his English debut album and he finds his inspiration from other Motown artist such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and more. He’s had numerous hits in Canada, France and Japan, but how will his music go over with Americans?

Me and my husband popped in the CD and were about to find out. His music is very soothing, and he’s got a good voice, nothing out of the ordinary for us though. I felt more like his CD was something I’d be listening to in a coffee house. Something I could use to relax and unwind with, or have on in the background while reading my Twilight books (lol). Although Corneille was named one of the “Hottest New Stars” of 2009 by the New York Daily News, I honestly can’t see him being on the rise with such artists like Ne-Yo, Seal, Usher or any other “Hot” R&B singer right now.

Although is music is very soothing, has that old school jazz/blues feel to it, it’s not going to be one of my top picks on my IPod. Big R&B fans but we both agreed, he needs a little something more to his voice, although it’s good, it just doesn’t stand out to us. But who knows, this might just be the thing that you’re into, something you’d listen to constantly. For me, it’s just a relaxing background CD that will be played in my home.

The Birth of Cornelius is available in stores and on Amazon.com right now, and you can soon also visit his website www.corneillemusic.com where you'll be able to check out some more about his bio and his music.

Thanks To: Team Mom/Music Moms

Hidden Valley Ranch: Love Your Veggies

As a parent, you know that games are high up on the ‘must have’ list when it comes to kids. It seems so many, especially my own, kids just love to play games, and can play any sort of game from board games to electronic games all day every day if you allow them to.

So why not use the time play games with kids to help out their own health? We all know how hard it can be to get those little ones to eat their veggies and now Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing wants to help you out a little bit more with their new Veggie Adventures game.

Veggie Adventures is a new online game (a free online game) for parents to use to help their kids find that love for vegetables. With three different games possible to play it gives your children a great time, and fun while giving them more of an understanding and love to eat those vegetables. After they’ve finished a game, there’s even a really cute certificate you can print out, so that your child knows they’ve accomplished something great, and to serve as a reminder of just how great those vegetables are!

Younger kids will have a great time with these cute little games, and the girls really loved to have a certificate of their own printed out to show their accomplishments. Head over and try out Veggie Adventures with your child, and give them more power of knowledge about veggies!

Moving on ...

Is it just time to move on? I’m not sure, I really don’t know. Some days I’m ready and running to work on my message board, other days, not so much. Taking over a week off from posting there, from being the ‘head admin’ on the board, I’ve come to realize I’m actually thinking it may be time to move on. I have nothing more to offer there now, at least I feel like I don’t. I’ve evolved myself, I’ve moved on. I’d like to take more time to evolve my blog into a greater blog than what it is. I’ve gone as far as I can go with my message board. I’ve had it for almost 5 years now, and it’s just not helping me in any way anymore.

I’ve made great friendships there, that I don’t intend on loosing, but I think my time as admin, my time as a top contributor to the board may have been coming to a slow, a minimum and I just didn’t want to see it. It takes up much more of my time than my blog, to which I’ve been ignoring a lot lately and find I get much more enjoyment out of blogging right now than I do conversing on a message board.

I have my blog, I have facebook, I have twitter, I have my instant messengers….There’s really no need for the message board anymore, I just hang on and hang on, with really no real reason.

Mommies ‘N Babies has become something great, a great place for women and mom’s to go to to get advice, meet great friends and just chat, but I feel that my presence there is no longer needed, something that may fail if I continue to just stick around, I think there needs to be a change, something fresh something new, someone who wants to take on the challenges and work and just take over the board. I don’t have the desire to do it anymore.

So what do you do in this situation? Take a domain and board that I’ve run (with some great help over the years) for a long while now and just give it up to someone else? I wouldn’t just abandon it, that would be awful, but I’m not sure where to go from here……

Calling all home cooks! The 44th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest is open for entries...

Mmmm...Baking!!! I'm on a diet, so really the smell is enough for me. I'm not a great baker, I'm not even a great cook for that matter, but it doesn't mean I can't try, or don't bake at all. I'm sure there are many of you out there who are 100 times better than me at baking, and that's why I think you should sign up for the 44th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.

Last year at the 43rd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest in 2008, Carolyn Gurtz walked away with the million-dollar grand prize for her Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies! This wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for baking was introduced to cooking at age seven and she hasn't stopped since then. One contest judge stated that Carolyn's recipe was "a new twist on an old classic." Other judges called out its simplicity and approachability and described it as a delightful taste that combines two classic cookies - a snickerdoodle and a peanut butter cookie.

You can check out the former grand prize winner Carolyn Gurtz and hear from the Pillsbury Bake-Off Kitchens Manager too viewing the following video.

Anna Ginsberg, a stay-at-home mom who you might know from her blog, Cookie Madness (if your hungry on on a diet, probably not the best blog to take a peek at lol), earned the $1 million prize for her Baked Chicken and Spinach Stuffing in the 42nd Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. At the 2004 competition, the 41st Contest, former librarian wrote her own page in history by capturing the top prize with her Oats 'n Honey Granola Pie recipe. Inspired by pecan pie, Conrad adapted a family-favorite pie and caught the judges' attention with its wonderful flavor and simple preparation.

All it takes is one easy and delicious recipe idea, so we hope you let your readers, friends and family know that it's time to get creative in the kitchen for their chance at a million! One hundred finalists will win a trip to the finals, April 11 - 13, 2010, at the Waldorf-Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek hotel in Florida. Pillsbury is looking for original recipes that taste and look delicious, are easy to prepare and that families across America will love to eat. There are four recipe categories - Breakfast & Brunches, Entertaining Appetizers, Dinner Made Easy and Sweet Treats.

Entries are being accepted online between now and April 20th, 2009, at www.bakeoff.com. You'll also find contest details, including eligible products, prizes and the official rules, at the web site.

Yea I guess you can see where I'm going. I've jumped on the Twilight bandwagon and yes, I'm in love with a fictional vampire.... The girl who REFUSED to read the books, laughed at the silly little obsession her friends had, is now a fangirl. Oh how the world works in mysterious ways.

I learned that any gadgets, electronic devices and appliances draw power even when they're switched off or not in use—just by being plugged in. These items include chargers for cell phones, VCRs, televisions, stereos, computers, and kitchen appliances. As you make your way through your home, look for devices not currently in use and unplug them.

Waiting, Waiting, Waiting...

That seems to be all I've been doing for the past few hours. Waiting for everyone else to get ready to go. I've planned for the past day or so to head to Niagara Falls, so it's nothing new, as I said I wanted to leave early. Yet here we are, or rather, here I am at 11:04am waiting, waiting, waiting for everyone else to get ready.

Why can't everyone get up early, get dressed, and be ready to go? I wanted be be there already, and especially be out of the house before noon.

So I sit here and wait, and I'm bored off my rocker, so I've blogged, I've searched around for sales manager jobs in Canada too. You know, just in case there's something better here, I always think about moving back home whenever we come up, it's a dream though. Things are so much more expensive up here right now.

But, I guess I should go, I'm sure there's something else I can get accomplished. Hopefully we make it sometime soon to Niagara Falls, oh and I hope it's not freezing when we get there.

Healthy Teeth, Fresh Breath...

Here at home we’ve been having a few dental issues lately. I won’t lie; I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist. I haven’t been to one since I was a child. But late last year I’ve started having some major toothaches because of my impacted wisdom teeth and had to head to a dentist for the first time in years.

To date, I still get pain from time to time, and I still have yet to book my appointment to get my wisdom teeth taken out. We’ve also just noticed that my daughter has a cavity sitting on her tooth. Just a small one, but you can see it. So once April hits, and our new insurance hits, I think we’ll all be taking a trip to the dentist.

Until that point though, I’ve been making it very clear that we need to ‘brush up’ on our dental hygiene in the house. I’ve been using only the best toothpaste, and we’re all using some sort of mouthwash as well. Recently I was sent a bottle of Listerine Total Care anticavity mouthwash. I’ve never tried this before, I’m usually using another brand, but since this is here, I decided to give it a whirl.

I love the freshness it gives you, but I do have to say, it was a lot harsher than the other brand I normally use, it’s hard to keep it in my mouth swishing around without my eyes bulging out of my head and tearing up. It’s pretty strong. It’s not stopping me from using it though, I find my breath is fresh and my teeth and mouth feel cleaner after I brush, even more than usual.

Listerine Total Care anticavity mouthwash gives you more than the usual protection against bad breath and cavities, it's a six in one total care mouthwash it also gives restoring minerals to your enamel, it strengthens your teeth and fights plaque even above the gum line. I have a feeling I’ll be ditching my other band for this new Listerine, as someone who’s afraid of the dentist the more help I can get the better, besides there's no mouthwash that is more complete!

Vacation is coming to an end...

Vacation is winding down, I can’t believe how fast a week has gone, it’s already Friday! Why does the week go so fast when you’re having fun? We've already done Disney on Ice, and the girls loved it, except for the AWFUL tantrum Lyric decided to have after it was over. I'll talk more about that when I get back.

We have yet to take the girls to Niagara Falls, it’s been so COLD here, yesterday it even snowed, can you believe that? Leave it to me to head to a colder climate for vacation, smart move Gina. Hopefully tomorrow we’re looking at a warmer temperature so we’re going to head out there again. Lyric has been asking and asking to go to Niagara Falls, but I’d rather wait till it’s a bit warmer, even if we have to wait till the summer to go.

I’ve been doing a lot of shopping on vacation, spending lots of my hubby’s hard earned money hehehehe! Finding a good Sale is something I just can’t pass up, and with the exchange right now, I’m saving quite a bit of money. Heck, who am I kidding, I'm still shopping online while I'm here too, gotta keep my eyes open at all times you know, saving money is something I love love love to do!

Today is a lazy day; we’re cooking dinner heading out to the market for a bit and just spending the day around the house. Two more days till we leave to head back home, I hate going back, I miss Canada so much, but it’s something that has to be done.

A resouce to healing your families skin...

Neosporin is probably the number 1 first aid product you have to have in your home if you have children. It’s not enough to keep just one tube around either. Even though I have girls, they’re so clumsy and always rough housing, it’s a must have in our house. You’ll find one in the first aid kit, one in the junk drawer downstairs, and even one in my purse.

Did you know that Neosporin + Pain Relief First Aid Antibiotic/Pain Relieving Ointment and Cream is the #1 doctor recommended brand to prevent infection and provide temporary relief of pain or discomfort in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns? It’s good to know, because it’s the #1 ointment and cream we turn to whenever we need something for those icky cuts/scrapes.

Neosporin is great for use on kids because it doesn’t sting! And that’s a big plus when it comes to cleaning the cuts on a child. My favorite thing that Neosporin has come up with though is the Neo To Go Spray-On. What more could a mom ask for to have in her purse. Especially with the warmer weather coming up, trips to the park, you know those cuts and scrapes are going to happen and the Neo To Go Spray-On is just the thing. With it being nice and small and compact, it’s easy to just slip in your purse and go.

Neosporin not only gives great pain relief and aids against infection, but it’s also very good and preventing those icky scars that you don’t want hanging around once your injury is healed. Funny thing is, just as I got my samples, I had just run out of our last tube of Neosporin and I was just about to buy some more. It’s a must have to make sure even the smallest scrapes aren’t getting infected. Neosporin is a hit with me, my kids and our first aid kit!

World Championship Games

Nintendo is almost a lifeline in this house. Ok, well maybe not, but it’s part of our daily routine in some ways, be it me using my Wii Fit, Rodney playing some games on the Wii, or the girls getting to take time out to play their beloved Nintendo DS. So we’re always on the up and up about new games that are coming for any of our systems.

The Game Factory right now is promoting the newest game for the Nintendo DS called World Championship Games – A Track & Field Event. This is a game that features 13 different track & field events which you can play alone, or use as a multiplayer game via WiFi.

The fun thing about this game, isn’t that it’s so ‘realistic’ but that you can customize your own athletes that you wish to use within the game and with the option of using Nintendo WFC to play 2 – 4 players, it makes running, throwing, jumping, shooting and all the other great track & field games even more fun to play.

Taking a moment out of vacation mode...

To bring you some exciting news....At least it is to me...It's been a few weeks since I've weighed myself... So my parents have a really accurate scale so I decided after my workout why not. I'm BLOATED, AF should be here any day now and I feel HORRID... Jeans are tight, shirts are tight, ugh... Rodney was like don't do it, your just gonna make yourself feel WORSE...

I said oh well it's more incentive to stay on track....

So I got naked, stepped on the scale and prayed

I'm down 21.8 lets call it 22lbs.... I"M ECSTATIC right now!!! And now about to go to my Nonna's for lunch, not a good idea, homemade Italian food YUM! But I have a vegetarian chili in the crock pot for dinner for us, and I'm gonna be good, I don't want that 22lbs to go away, I want it to UP and UP and UP (in terms of weight loss).. I'm just SO HAPPY!!!! I never thought I'd hit the 20lb mark, but I have, and gone past it as well!!

Andrew "Test" Martin You will be greatly missed...

I'm supposed to be cleaning and getting things ready to leave today, but as I hop on the internet this morning I get devastating news. A lot of you may not know who this man is, may not even care, but to me, this is an enormous deal and I've been in tears ever since I found out.

Former WWE star Andrew "Test" Martin was found dead in his apartment in Tampa Florida. He was only 33 years old. There's not a lot of details as of yet except that he was found dead in his entryway to his apartment. I'm devastated, I can only keep his family and friends in my thoughts. Years ago I met Test in Toronto, as he is a fellow Canadian, and I've been a big fan of his for years.

Sometimes things like this hit you just like it was someone you regularly knew, because sometimes that's how you feel when you follow someone week by week, know their back story/history, and follow their career after leaving WWE and TNA.

Andrew "Test" Martin R.I.P You'll be greatly missed.....

Win Free Liquid Sunshine!

As parents, there’s always one staple that’s in our homes….Milk! It seems like the cost of milk just keeps going up and up and up, and although I’m lucky to pay under $3 a gallon, there are many people out there who pay $5 or more per gallon. On a family this can be devastating, especially if you have little ones in the house. Well the Got Milk? Campaign wants to help you out.

To raise awareness of the importance of the “suhshine vitamin”, the Got Milk? Campaign is debuting a new website called GetYourD.com and visitors to the new website have an opportunity like none other, they have the chance to win a FREE Year’s Supply of milk – “liquid sunshine”.

We know how important it is for our bodies to get enough Vitamin D, well milk is one of the few food sources that helps us get that. Did you know milk was the leading source in vitamin D in the American diet? I didn’t. Three 8-ounce glasses of lowfat or fat free milk provides 75% of the daily value for vitamin D. Not only that, but milk provides 8 other essential nutrients including calcium, potassium and vitamin A.

There will be a total of 21 winners who will be randomly selected to receive free milk for a year. Just head over to GetYourD.com and register, the contest ends March 15, 2009 at 9pm ET. There’s no purchase necessary to enter.

To enter visit: http://getyourd.com/win_liquid_sunshine.php

Raising girls isn't always a piece of cake...

Raising girls is tough, as females ourselves we know this. I’m not looking forward to the tween or teen years when my girls will come up with so many questions I might not know what to do. Don’t get me wrong I want to answer all of them, I want to be open and honest and have them know they can come to me for anything, or ask me any question. But, sometimes us mom’s need help on answering those tough ones.

Finally we have that help, within our reach without doing a few google searches either. A new website is there for us. This site is a 24/7 place where we can find reliable, expert advice and peer support that we need to raise our daughters. Where can you find this? www.daughters.com.

New Moon Girls Magazine and the online community www.newmoon.com have created www.daughters.com for parents, grandparents and caregivers of girls. This is an interactive community where users can find various answers to questions about raising girls 8-15 years old. You’ll find a fully-searchable collection of more than 250 expert articles, interactive community features even an “Ask the Expert” and “Parent to Parent”, where you can go for advice from experts and help support other mom’s and parents.

Be sure to visit www.daughters.com and get all the help you need answering those not so easy questions.

A Digger you'll be happy to see....

Don’t German’s make some of the ‘better things in life’? Well, when it comes to sex toys it’s no exception. Fun Factory is one of the ‘luxury’ brand of sex toys, and one of the better ones around. When Eden Fantasys came to me asking to review another one of their products, the Dinky Digger by Fun Factory, I jumped at the chance.

The Dinky Digger II – yes a silly name – is a soft 100% silicone, waterproof vibrator. When I first got a glimpse of this product, I couldn’t help but chuckle just a little. Just looking at it, it wasn’t really my thing. I mean Fun Factory makes some great products, but this just isn’t something I normally would pick up off the shelf or order online, which is fine by me. I’m always willing to try out the latest and greatest and let you all know how it works out.

The Dinky Digger is very soft, and although has well……a mole it seems to look like carved into the shaft, with a slightly curved snub nose (great for g-spot or clitoral action). I took one look at it out of the package and thought, well….Let’s try it out, here goes nothing. With some smooth ridges and textures I thought for sure I was in for a pleasurable experience. First things first though, get those batteries in.

This is where I started to have a bit of trouble getting the battery cover off. After reading the instruction on how exactly to get this thing off, my hubby grabbed it and figured it out. In we popped 2 AA batteries (not included), and off we went to explore the wonder of the Dinky Digger.

I do have to say that it is a little short, but the variable speeds it has that can be easily adjusted with the dial is great, from a slight vibration to something more powerful, adjusting the speed yourself is fairly easy. However, I was a bit disappointed with this toy, only after a few minutes of varying speeds and thinking it might get better, I was in for some pain. Not a lot, not excruciating pain, but enough for me to say ok, enough this hurts.

The pro’s I can see with the Dinky Digger is that it is great for some clitoral stimulation, but any penetration it’s a no go for me. I also love the fact that it’s so soft and that it’s silicone, it makes for an easy clean up. The varying speeds are a plus too; it gives you the ability to choose what your comfort level is. My con’s, it’s a bit short, for some reason penetration gave me a few ‘ouches’ and is something we’re not able to do with the Dinky Digger, also the battery compartment is very hard to open.

I can’t give this toy a 10 out of 10, I’m not exactly sure what I would give it on a scale, but it’s defiantly not on my top list, it could be for someone else’s though, I have seen and heard some great reviews on it, and with it being a Fun Factory toy, I was really surprised that it wasn’t my ‘cup of tea’.

You can purchase the Dinky Digger II at Eden Fantasys, or check out some other great adult toys while you’re there by visiting their website www.edenfantasys.com.

Big sound quality from a small source...

I’ll admit, I’ve been a slacker in the iPod department. As much as we’re up on gadgets and technology, we never really had a reason for an iPod as our phones typically do the exact same function. So, up until recently I’ve never bothered to really want one. That is until I was introduced to the iHome iH15W Colortunes Color Changing speaker. Right then and there that’s when I knew I had to have an iPod.

The iHome iH15W stereo system with built in subwoofer not only looks pretty with all the different colors you can choose or even have it cycle through, but the sound is amazing! I didn’t expect much to come out of this little cube, but it packs a punch! I’ve been looking for an alternative to my book shelf system, and wanted to find a way to listen to my MP3’s without having to burn them to CD, and this seems to be my replacement.

Even without using an iPod the iH15W stereo system allows you to use other aux audio sources with it as well, which is great for us non iPod users. Check out the video below with me testing the system with just the use of the mp3’s on my cell phone. The quality is great, and the 5.5” cube gives you a whole heck of a lot of sound.

video

The cube has two Reson8 speakers and a passive subwoofer which gives you some THUMP to your songs. I did however convince my lovely husband to finally get me my own iPod Nano, and I’ve been using my iH15W almost daily. The great part is that you can simply dock your iPod into the docking station and leave it there, as it plays your music and it even charges your iPod at the same time, so no more batteries or dead iPods for me!

For me, my favorite thing is the sound quality, but if you ask my girls, their favorite thing about our new little gadget is the colors, the cube is translucent and the colors change just with a simple touch. You have the option of no color, single colors, fading colors, or colors simply cycling through.

This fun, cute, and sophisticated design is a must have for any music lover if you’re looking for something less bulky with a lot more sound. The iHome iH15W would be great for any party setting as well. You can find out more information about the iH15W or any more of the great iPod accessory products that iHome offers by visiting their website www.ihomeaudio.com.

Brush up on your brogue...

I’m 100% Italian through and through, until it comes to language. That’s something I’ve always regretted, never learning to speak Italian and I’d love my girls to learn it so we’re slowly working on that. Learning another language is pretty important these days and can get you further on in your career.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, instead of donning a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” shirt, or raising a pint of Guinness why not get in touch with your Irish heritage and learn a few key phrases in Gaelic? Starting March 12th, Rosetta Stone is inviting consumers to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit and brush up on their brogue by offering a free week of Rosetta Stone Irish Language tutorials online on their website.

Rosetta Stone fully immerses users into the historical Irish language, recreating the instinctive language-learning experience with the help of vivid images and speech recognition technology. The easy-to-use platform allows users to learn Irish the same way they learned their first language and the program’s addictive quality helps users stay engaged and facilitates success.

You can access the Free Rosetta Stone Irish program trial by going to www.rosettastone.com on March 12th at 6pm and then clicking on the registration link. The free trial will run from March 12 – 19th 2009.

It's really clean, it's really natural....

I really hate cleaning with chemicals, so I think it’s just great that more and more companies are going to natural, non toxic products for cleaning. Whenever I have the opportunity to try out a new cleaning product, that’s not bad for me, my family or the environment, I jump on the chance. So I was thrilled with trying out SC Johnson’s Nature’s Source Natural Bathroom cleaner.

Nature’s Source products use plant-based, biodegradable cleaners that have just the same cleaning power as Windex and Scrubbing bubbles or any other brand name that you already know and trust. The difference is, Nature’s Source products clean naturally and effectively leaving nothing but a fresh scent behind. Not only are the Nature’s Source products 99% natural, but they’re also packaged in recyclable bottles and partly produced by renewable energy from a local landfill. Nature’s Source is also recognized for safer chemistry by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment program.

What more can you ask for from a product? Nature's Source is great for the environment, a wonderful fresh clean scent instead of that harsh chemical smell a lot of other cleaners have, and it does a heck of a job cleaning as well. My tub, my sink, and even my toilet have that clean natural shine to them! We’re very into using these new products in our home, even better, this is something I have no problem letting the kids help me clean with, knowing they can learn and help to clean without the worry of chemicals. It’s really clean, it’s really natural, and that’s what I want!

I hate being a woman...

Sometimes I hate being a woman

Why?

PMS!!! Plain and simple…. It’s bad enough that I have to diet so I don’t continue to be fat, but to diet, feel good, and then get PMS to make you feel even MORE fat, and MORE like you’ve made no progress royally SUCKS! Then here comes the cravings… The craving for the EVIL thing on my diet…CHOCOLATE!! Take today for instance, I’ve done my workout, I’m drinking loads of water, ate well and felt good….Now I have cramps, I’m bloated, I feel like a beached whale, and all I want to do is stuff my mouth FULL of a big giant piece of chocolate cake and wash it down with a tall glass of cold milk (fat free of course).

I hate being a woman…

Why can’t we crave more sensible things like jewelry or clothing or even wholesale electronics? Why must we crave the things that will only make us fatter in the long run? Why do I have to work so hard to get skinny and then have EVIL aunt flo come around and not only make me feel fat, but try to get me fat once again…

I hate being a woman…

Meet your favorite Superstar and Diva

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a WWE event. I guess that’s what happens as you get older, have a family and kids. The girls love coming to wrestling events now, especially Lyric she is another WWE-holic just like her mommy and daddy… Which is great, but can I be honest? I can’t go all FAN GIRL WILD with my kid there, so we don’t get to go to a lot of events. If I know one of her favorite wrestlers will be doing an appearance close to us though, we usually take her so that she can meet them. She’s met so many great wrestlers so far, and I guess she’s a good pawn for me to get to meet some too, who am I kidding?!?!

Those WWE fans that are in California are in for a treat, I wish I could make it out there, but Cali is just a bit far for me. Especially because my hubby’s favorite Diva will be there, and he has yet to meet her.

In support of Wrestlemania 25, the Kmart store in Harvlan Center (5704 East Whittier Blvd.), Commerce, CA is having a special meet and great as well as autograph signing with The Miz and Layla Thursday March 12 between the hours of 6 – 8pm. WWE Superstar The Miz and WWE Diva Layla are coming to a Kmart store near you, this is a chance to get up close and personal, as well as get a great autograph for your collection, and don’t forget your camera’s either.

Starting on March 8th and continuing through April 5, Kmart will have a WWE boutique located at the front of Kmart mainland retail locations which will include the best in WWE licensed product including apparel, toys, DVDs, stationary and gaming accessories. Those customers who purchase $50 of WWE merchandise at Kmart will receive $10 off the Wrestlemania 25 pay-per-view.

Additional information can be found by visiting www.kmart.com/wwe or check out the appearance schedule at www.wwe.com to find out when your favorite superstar or diva will be in your area.

I Don't Want To Miss....A PSA contest....

Getting the flu is no fun, especially if you’re an active, social teen. All the things you miss out on once you get sick, to a teen, is just DEVESTATING!!! That’s why Brook White, a former American Idol finalist has teamed up with Dr. Harley Rotbart the author of Germ Proof Your Kids and also an infectious disease specialist, as well as the Clorox Company to bring you I Don’t Want To Miss… This is a national contest that brings teens into the know and encourages them to learn and speak about flu education and prevention.

The main focus of the program is a PSA contest to which teens can submit a short 45-60 second video entry to the website idontwanttomiss.com. They can share what they wouldn’t want to miss out on and why flu prevention is important to them because of it. This gives some teens some creativity as well as teaching them about flu prevention.

For the first time this year, the CDC expanded flu vaccination guidelines to include all children six months through 18 years old. However, a new national survey shows that only 16% of parents with teens are aware of this new recommendation.

The winning contestant will win an acoustic concert from former American Idol finalist Brooke White at his/her school! The second place winner will receive a guitar autographed by Brooke White herself, and three runners-up will win autographed photos.

Don’t miss out on this PSA contest, get your teen involved. Visit idontwanttomiss.com to enter or to check out more details.

Debit Cards for Teens

My girls are still too young to realize exactly how much hold money can have on us. We do try to teach them early the value of a dollar, and they already love filling their banks with any and all coins they find to ‘save up’ for when they’re older, but what about those who have teens who have a little more independence how do you teach them about money, how do you make sure that they’re making the right choices and not spending every dime they earn?

Discover Card wants to help parents out. They’ve created the Current Card, which is a card for teens from the ages 13 – 18 and is a tool to help parents teach their kids about managing money. In this day and age a credit card, or debit card is the most used form of cash, especially when making purchases online, and the last thing you want to do is hand over your bank card, or credit card to your teen. This is the perfect alternative.

The Current Card by Discover works just like a debit card that you’re already familiar with, once the set limit is reached the card can no longer be used, no overdrafts, no credit to spend. The cool thing about this card is though that as a parent you can set the spending limits be it daily, weekly or monthly. You can also block the card from being used at specific merchant categories such as liquor stores, or even ATMs. You also have the ability via online, email or text message to track your child’s spending habits with the card.

This is an amazing new tool for parents to keep a better eye on their children and the money they have, but the card is also a great tool for kids as well. Kids can direct deposit their paychecks directly onto the card, there’s coupons and discounts available to the card holder when they use their card at specific merchants, and for current Discover Card holders (parents), if you earn cash back or miles with your regular Discover Card, you can now use this to load the Current card as well.

Check out the Current card by Discover by going to their website www.currentbydiscover.com
