Ahhh to be back home! Sleeping on an air mattress for 2 weeks so was not fun! Specifically since we found there was a small leak inside of it and then it would deflate in the middle of the night, which left us on the rock hard ground in the morning.
To be back home! Means sleeping on my nice new comfy mattress where I got a great sleep, and didn’t wake up at 6am every morning. Nope! Today I woke up happy and refreshed at 9am!!
Sad to see vacation end, but so happy to be home!

I'm BACK!!!
Finally I’m back from vacation.
What a long 2 weeks that was, we had a blast though! We drove from Ohio through the eastern states, up to New Brunswick Canada where we spent 4 days at the Fundy National Park. Then we headed out to Cape Cod in Massachusetts for another 4 days. I feel in love with Provincetown!
Lucky for us we had a shuttle from our campground that ran till midnight out to the city. We took the girls out there and then the next day spent some time with just the adults. My best friend came out to meet us when we were in New Brunswick and spent the rest of our vacation camping with us.
Provincetown was so much fun, all the shops, the food, and the friendliness. I can’t wait to go back there again another summer. We’re already thinking about heading there again next summer and possibly renting out a beach house or something.
I think the girls had the most fun at the Marconi Beach. The sun, the sand and the ocean! My youngest didn’t want to have much to do with being in the water with the waves, she was happy just to be in the sand building sand castles, but my oldest and my hubby are little water bugs! They were in the ocean swimming until they couldn’t swim anymore. Well no, my hubby was in there until he was COVERED and I mean COVERED in seaweed! Once the tide started going out the seaweed came in and he was covered from head to toe. I swear we’re still finding seaweed now that we’re home.
The girls also loved finding sea shells and rocks as we walked the ocean floor when the tide was out in the Bay of Fundy. We walked over a mile out on the ocean floor and found so many cool things; we also did find garbage out there which sickened me. I picked up what I could and brought it back in and disposed of it properly.
So now, we’re home, and it’s time to unpack all of our clothes and camping gear and do some grocery shopping as well, I’m so tired, it was a great vacation but it’s also great to be home and get back to normal again. Once I've got all my unpacking done and all my photos uploaded I'm sure I'll be sharing a ton of them with you.

Fast Effective Abdominal Exercises...
I admit, one thing I’m not crazy about is abdominal exercises. Although I make sure to do them every single time I head to the gym, it’s probably not one of my favorite workouts, especially since I seem to do so many of them!
I recently found some great exercises that are really effective and they only take about 5 minutes of my time. Now I haven’t seen any real changes, but I have a lot of ‘stuff’ to get around lol. It seems like that mom pooch will always be there, but I’m determined to make it smaller and smaller and finally GET RID OF IT!
Eating right along with the right abdominal exercise to tighten up that core is key, also working out not for the sake of just having a better appearance helps out as well I found. When I started thinking I need to lose weight and exercise because I want to be healthier, I found that I started losing weight and keeping it off!
But to focus on one area today, here are some really great 5 minute exercises that I’ve found are helping me reduce belly fat
~ 2 sets of 10 on each side- medicine ball circle woodchops
Grab a 5-10lb medicine ball in the palms of your hands with your arms extended. Make a wide circle to one side and chop down to the alternate side of the body.
~ 2 sets of 20 Penguins
Lay on your back with your knees bent, feet planted on the floor. Lift your shoulders off the floor and grab the inside of one heel with the arm on that side and alternate sides to complete each set.
~ 2 sets of 30 Belly Busters
Get into plank position. Then lift your butt up high into the air and bring it back down, keeping your back and your legs straight. Use the strength in your abdominal's to bring your butt up and down without allowing your back to curve.

Time to make a change...
Speaking of furniture, I think we really need to update. We’ve done a few things, but we need to get this house into more of my sort of style, rather than the old owners and the hand me downs we got from everyone when we moved in.
I’d really like to get some more modern furniture. Especially for the kitchen, furniture and appliances, I’m sick of the old fridge and old gas stove.
I think once summer is over and one of the kiddos is back in school, I’m going to get into some more DIY stuff around the house and get it looking like something I WANT rather than what we have.

What to do today...
Finally we’re going to get a beautiful day! The grass really needs to be cut, but I really don’t want to do it! Such a man’s job!!!!
I think today I’m going to clean up inside the house, especially the girl’s room, which seems to be a disaster as usual. I may even move around furniture in the living room. I really wish we could go shopping sooner rather than later for new tv stands, but that’s going to have to wait. So until then I think I’ll just do a bit of re-arranging in the house, to make it look a little fresher.

Can you break a chair?
Sometimes I wonder, as we’re growing as an American Nation, (the wrong way I may add, I mean growing in stomach size) does it mean that household furniture needs to be created to hold the ‘heavier’ American now?
Shopping for patio chairs I noticed weight limits on the chairs but how many people now a days are way over that weight limit?
I’m trying to keep my weight going down down down, but a lot of people are ignoring the issue at hand, we need to become a healthier nation, and fast! I think household furniture shouldn’t accommodate the heavier set American, why? Because it just gives the excuse to keep the weight on!

Remembering an old friend...
I'm remembering my old friend, my HP Pavillion Laptop... I loved that thing, however in the end, it wasn't so great to me!
It was overheating NON STOP which apparently was a problem with this model, and then one day it finally overheated one too many times and turned off, never to be turned on again....
I still have a big gripe with HP and probably won't buy another HP product again because of how this went down!!!! You know how you get a 1 year warranty with your computers normally? Well we had the same with my HP, I also had the same with hubby's Dell. However the difference.... When hubby's computer had an issue and was a couple weeks out of warranty (less than 30 days), Dell still honored it and helped him out for FREE.... HP however refused to do so, I was only 16 days out of warranty and they wanted me to ship my computer to them and pay them $389 to just SEE what the problem was..... Maybe I'd still have my 'friend' if I had bought the extended laptop warranty, but alas, I did not...
My lovely laptop may it R.I.P at only 1 year and 16 days old..... What a piece of GARBAGE! But I still remember you my friend...

Cravings are EVIL!!!
I think the worst part of dieting and finding a new way of eating is the cravings! Especially for us women when it’s “that time of the month”, the cravings for sweet, salty and just plan pig-out junk food is what gets me every time! It’s hard to ignore, but even when it’s not “that time of the month” every once in a while I still get those cravings for those “not so healthy foods”. Sometimes I think they should give out Junk Food insurance and give me an insurance quote just like I would be getting a cheap auto insurance.
It hasn't been a great eating week for me, we've been traveling, we've had BBQs and we've been eating out, A LOT! I’ve noticed with the cravings are if I see something that I love, but I haven’t eaten in a long long while, especially if it’s put in front of me, I’m more likely to over indulge so I need to learn that everything IS ok, in moderation. If I’m craving that White Castle burger, go ahead and have ONE to curb that craving before it gets worse. Yea but really, is that going to happen?
I am an emotional eater, stressed out; depressed, happy or sad food always comes into play. I need to look a bit deeper than the food for this lifestyle change in order to curb these cravings, I need to listen to myself, eat when I’m hungry and ask myself why exactly I’m hungry at that time. Is it because of my emotions or feelings ore because I’m bored? Or is it because I’m actually hungry and need to eat because of a missed meal or wrong choice?
First things first from now on, when I think I’m hungry I’m going to grab a nice big glass of ice cold water and see if that helps, I don’t drink enough and I need to get this water drinking in more than I have. I also need to get off my butt more often. Sure I’ve been working out at least 4 days a week, but I need to expand my physical and mental activity to keep my mind OFF of foods and the cravings I tend to get.
How do you kick your cravings? Any tips or tricks to help me out?

Makeover Anyone?
My girls, while I was sorting through every inch of clothing they've ever owned decided that they need to come inside and go up to their room to play, that's all fine and good still allows me to finish the work I was doing. That was until I head upstairs to check on them since they were being quiet. All you mom's know what I'm talking about, that quiet where it's too quiet and you just know they're up to no good....

I went upstairs to find their room TRASHED.... Every toy, every stuffed animal all over the floor in the middle of their room. Not only that, but I found them both on the bed, pencil crayons in hand WRITING ON THE WALLS!
I about lost it.... Here I am trying to 're-organize' things slowly as they do share a room but are getting older and are needing new space. Here I am stressing about making more room in their room for them, here I am stressing about getting new mattresses and beds for both the girls.......Here I am stressing that they've completely RUINED their room...
The writing on the wall is so bad its going to have to be repainted, the vinyl wall décor is going to have to come down, the rug needs to be cleaned because they wrote on that with marker and who knows if it will come out. My girls need a MAKEOVER in their room badly and I can't afford it at the moment. I think tonight I'm definitely going to need a sleeping aid to get over this mess.. OYE!!
Can't get to sleep...
I’ve had a hard time sleeping lately. I don’t know what it is, whether it’s stress or excitement about or upcoming vacation or what, I just can’t get a good night’s sleep!
Any suggestions on how to get a good night’s sleep for once? What are some natural sleep aids that you use to make sure you’re getting enough rest at night?

Fountain of Youth?
You hear about celebrities finding amazing techniques to look younger, ok maybe not amazing, more like expensive and obsessive, but have you ever thought of doing something like that on your own?
Ever thought of using human grown hormones to help you look younger (click here)? I have to say, it’s not something I’ve ever thought of, and can’t say I would. But man, to look as young as some of these celebrities do when their in their 50s or 60s, I’d love to be able to look like that too.. But do I want to take the risks associated with it as well?

I'll let you in on a little secret...
Happy Monday morning, Is it really? Nope it's not, its TUESDAY!!! Thank goodness for holidays!! I'm so tired, our weekend was so much fun but I'm wiped out... I still have to do some cleaning, unpacking and all that jazz and get back to normal... I"m also PMSing I'm not happy about breaking out! I need something like acnepril to help me out today!!!
There’s something you might not know… I have well no make that we have (as a couple) no friends. Like seriously! There are a couple of girls I’m friends with around here, but we don’t get together as much as we should. As a couple though we really have no friends, last week hubby had a work BBQ we had to go to at one of his co-workers homes and it was a fun, great night! I said to hubby on the way home, I really wish we had friends around here because I’d love to do something like that more often.
We both moved here from elsewhere, places where we both had friends/family but now they’re states and even countries away and we never have made friends here, heck I wouldn’t even know how lol. Silly to say but it’s true; when you’re a kid it’s so much easier to make friends! Our neighbors are douchebags, or they’re old, or the other couples we just don’t talk to much everyone basically minds their own business around here, which I LOVE, but man, I wish we had some friends….

Woman Beater? You sing and dance? Oh then we forgive you!
Ok, I have to comment on it, because frankly I’ve heard about it all day and I’m really sick of it. If you don’t know, last night was the BET awards, I missed most of it, I’ll have to watch the beginning, but I do have to comment on Chris Brown.
Why, Why, WHY are we still glorifying this woman abuser??? Seriously, I get that he’s talented, I get that he loved Michael Jackson but I would have much rather seen Usher perform the tribute to Michael Jackson last night instead, who probably could have done a much better job in the first place.
Chris Brown doesn’t have an ounce of my respect, yet all I’ve seen all day is people PRAISING Chris Brown and his performance last night, have you forgotten what he does in his spare time? Have you forgotten the brutally beaten Rihanna photos? I guess most people really don’t care. We're more up in arms over other things like health care and finding cheap insurance, which we should be. BUT Parents need to step in and take a look at who their daughters are falling head over heels for, I wouldn't want my kid drooling over an abuser, or for them to even think he'll only do it once, or she provoked him!
And what was with the tears last night, and him breaking down in the middle of “Man In the Mirror”? Can we say TOTAL PUBLICITY STUNT! Seriously, Chris Brown may be a talented singer and dancer but an actor he is not. I had zero respect for him before, and I have even LESS respect for him now for him using a tribute to his apparent ‘hero’ to try to make amends with his fans and boost his career.
I can’t really say anything BAD about the tribute, he did a good job dancing that was about it… I guess what still bothers me is all these young kids looking up to him like they do, these young girls not giving a shit about what he did to Rihanna, which I’m sure he’ll do again at some point to someone else. A man with that type of anger you can never trust! Yet these girls still fall all over their feet and scream at the top of their lungs for him….
I guess some people would say as well, why are we glorifying a pedophile still, well I don't believe that Michael Jackson ever did those things, in fact we have no proof, we have no evidence we have no guilty verdict. Chris Brown however, we have the facts, we have the evidence we have the guilty verdict!

Wordless Wednesday...
Ok, maybe not so wordless....
Last night was the opening of Eclipse! Yes, I'm a HUGE Twilight fan!! And I'm also TEAM EDWARD!! I went with my friend Leslie from Leslie's Life and Lay It On Me Designs. That's me on the left...
We had such a great time, but let me tell you... Waiting in line for 3hrs before hand, not bad at all, although my butt got numb sitting on the floor, and we were pretty board.. Watching Eclipse AMAZING! I loved it it was great, but coming home after 3am and then not going to sleep until after 4 is NOT FOR ME ANYMORE!!! I feel like I'm so tired still that I'm hung over... Ugh! That will teach me LOL...
It was so worth it though, I want to go see it again!!! Is it bad I'm almost willing to drag my 6 year old out there to see it just so I can see it again too? She LOVES Jacob and has seen the other two movies, I just might have to re-think her asking me to go, I would much rather pay for another ticket to go see Eclipse than buy her the personalized soccer balls she's been asking for....

A new camera?
I was talking with hubby the other day about cameras.
We went to a family reunion this past weekend and I brought out ‘the beast’ as I call it. It’s a huge camera, and it’s not even a digital SLR or anything, just a regular ol digital camera that looks like one. It’s only a 10 mp cam as well..
I didn’t use it once! I said I felt silly pulling it out to use it, as my phone takes great pics, and is only 2 mp less than the huge camera.
I really would like to get a new camera though, but what I really want is a digital SLR, which I don’t think will be happening anytime soon, digital cameras just aren't in my budget right now.

Cherry Chicken Salad
Hmm, what's for lunch today?

I was preparing our dinner to stick in the crock-pot and figured while I was at it, I'd get lunch ready and stick it in the fridge until we were ready to eat. I remembered a recipe that sounded VERY yummy, Cherry Chicken Salad, I had all the ingredients so decided to give it a shot. Besides it was super easy and not something I'd need to pull out the all clad copper core cookware to make!.

Cherry Chicken SaladI also had to give it a little taste test to see if it was edible, and YUM, YUM, YUM!!! Can't wait for lunch today!!! Recipe was used from choosecherries.com.Ingredients:
3 Tbsp fat-free plain yogurt
1 Tsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 Tsp honey

Combine the yogurt, vinegar, honey, and gingerroot in a medium bowl.
Add the chicken, walnuts, and cherries. Mix well.

Packing Lighter...
When you’re out camping sometimes you forget a lot of the ‘luxuries’ that you have at home.. Even the small ones, like batteries!
Lucky for me, I’m pretty stocked up thanks to Rayovac, let’s just hope I remember to bring them! What I’d love to have though is some of those rechargeable lanterns.
We’re taking an RV with us so recharging them wouldn’t be an issue, it would make for less packing, and less worry about remembering those darn batteries!

Promoting while driving...
So in a few weeks we’re headed on a long road trip with the entire family. We’re also able to have the use of a Hybrid vehicle courtesy of Toyota. I’m excited, I think I’m more excited about the fact that we get to drive a different car than our own rather than the trip itself.
I’m also looking at having some promotional products printed out to take with me along the way, specifically vinyl stickers on the car as we go on our trip.
We’re on a short trip right now and my kids are already driving me nuts, I think after 2 weeks is up I’m going to need a vacation all by myself!
