The Beautiful Flowers on a day of love

So do you actually celebrate Valentine’s Day? For the most part, we don’t even bother. I was going to get something for hubby this year, something special, just for him. Maybe even delivered to his work, since he does have to work on Valentine’s Day, but with the prices of things, I said forget it.

Myself, I do enjoy getting gifts no matter what the occasion. I’ll be honest, it would be nice to get some flowers this year, but I’m not holding my breath. I saw some beautiful flowers from Martha Stewart the other day and could just daydream about the beautiful fragrance they must have, and how nice my home would smell if I could have them. In reality though, I probably won’t get them, and it’s probably a good thing. They’ll just die, I don’t have a green thumb and I know flowers don’t last forever, but it seems when I have them, they’re lucky if they last a day.

So I guess we’ll each have to settle for ‘fantasy’s’ on Valentine’s Day (hint hint) and hopefully that will be enough. I don’t need a day to express my love for my husband, he knows I love him and that’s all that matters, no matter what day it is.

Web Hosting Geeks

Creating a website isn’t an easy task. I’ve been asked to create a few and even have one of my own (besides my blog). There’s so much to think about when creating a website, not only the name, but where are you going to host it? A lot of people don’t know that webhosting even is something you have to do when creating a website. They simply think that you can just make a site and be done with it. It’s not that simple.

Do your research when looking for a host, there’s a lot of informative sites out there where you can find the best host for your type of website, and you can even view customer reviews at the best places as well, so you know what you’re into when looking for a web host. Just be careful, cheap isn’t always the best route to go if you want a successful site. You want to make sure your up-time is good. Cheaper hosts that promise you everything under the sun, often times have really slow, or bad up-time and that’s not something you want your readers, or customers dealing with…. There’s nothing worse than trying to order or read something and the site loads slow or doesn’t work at all. So be smart, do your research and take your time deciding on the best host for you.

Valentine's Day

It's almost here.... Valentines Day! I know, I know, a lot of people just say it's just another Hallmark holiday, it doesn't mean anything and I'm usually in agreement with that, this year though I have a different tone. I want to express my love for my husband, and (if he knows whats good for him) I love to see his love expressed to me. Yes it's happens on non Valentines days too but there's just something special about it this year....Maybe its because this is the first year we can actually enjoy the holiday and can afford to get each other something.

So what are you're plans for Valentines Day? Anything special that you and your significant other are going to do? What about gifts? Do you send them Valentine's Day flowers, or get them chocolates, or do something else special with or for them? What about your kids, anything special for them? I've never thought of doing anything for the girls, maybe that's a new trend we'll start this year as well.

I know I may be placing a call to ProFlowers and ordering up a surprise for my hubby at work, how embarrassed he would be to get flowers at work, I can hear the aww from all the females he works with now.

Financial Resolutions for a new year...

A new year brings a whole bunch of 'new light' to our lives. We think about things we can improve both in our own selves and how to improve our lives in general. A lot of talk this year seems to be about financial decisions and how to save that money, how to keep yourself out of debt.

So many people are loosing jobs, loosing their homes and it's tough times all around for everyone one way or another. It seems that more than ever people are looking to find a way to save their money, be it by clipping coupons, only buying things on sale or even buying second hand. People are finding ways every day to save every penny they have. But what about those who are in debt and trying to find a way around that with limited funds? Trying to find help sometimes isn't easy, but having resources that you can easily use for a debt management program is available and easy to find if you just do some looking and research, especially on-line.

You can find a debt management program to fit your needs and to help you and your family breath and get all this debt cleared up, consolidated and done with. It's not easy to get rid of debt, and it's not going to happen overnight, but finding the right people and program to help you is the right start.

Tick Tock goes the clock....

As time goes on, our homes tend to look more and more modern. Gone are the old antique styles and great quality that we once remember in our grandparents homes. One of the most timeless pieces I think though has to be a beautiful grandfather clock.

I remember many visits to my great aunts home, and the beautiful grandfather clock that once stood there, and the loud 'gong' it would make as the time flew by. I almost miss the sound of that clock, and can remember it clearly from my childhood days.

Today you are less likely to see these great beautiful clocks in people's homes, it's almost sad that it's an experience our children will never have unless it's in a story book or fairytale of some sort. The room grandfather clock take up, the art and of it is almost lost, but there is hope, perhaps a more modern grandfather clock is what's needed, it is possible to find them. They give homes that 'homey' feel no matter if it's an antique looking or modern clock, the sounds are unmistakable and their appearance is always memorable.

Even a simple wall or mantel clock can be exquisite and beautiful, and even memorable. For some reason I remember the clocks in my grandmother's home and even today strive to find something similar in looks so that I can preserve those memories. Clocks don't just tell us the time, sometimes they are the memories of our times as well.

Atlantic Global - Timesheet and Planning Software

As a busy family, it's often hard to effectively manage different appointments, projects and time. Think of how hard it is for us mom's at home to use time management, the organization and calenders we use just to keep our lives on track.

Now imagine a business. In order to be successful at all you have to figure out how to manage your time, your projects, your costumers and your operations in general.

Being able to keep track of things will keep your business flowing successfully. The use of hand written sheets is outdated and can contain many errors either by management or employees, they're also very time consuming. What's more effective than reducing your time so that it's available for more important uses.

Using time tracking software from Atlantic Global will help you take control of your business with less time and less cost than using those same old hand written time sheets. This software will not only be a blessing to time constraints and situations but will enable your employees to track the information as well and have access to it in real time. This will not only help you but your organization to become for self sufficient and organized in a time efficient manner.

Web Hosting....

With owning my own message board/website a lot of work goes into it. One of the most important things besides your domain name pick is your host. Most people think it's a pretty simple thing, you find the cheapest host for the best value and stick with that. They're dead wrong.

Most of the times the cheapest host isn't the best. Because it's so cheap a lot of different sites are probably using it and your downtime will more than likely be pretty substantial because of so many sites being hosted on the same server. You want to find a host thats going to work for you, keep your site on-line and functioning well even when there are high server loads.

One of the best things to do when searching for a host for your website is to research, research, research. Ask other site owners with sites similar to yours how their traffic is and who they're using as their host. Check out different sites that compare the best web hosting places, and read the reviews and see what each offers.

It's not an easy decision, but one of the most important ones. No one wants to go to a website that has a slow lag all the time, or doesn't function easily or fast. Make the right decision, not just the cheapest one. Sometimes the old saying “You get what you pay for” is true, very true!

Debt Consolidation

The economy is in shambles, and although most of us have known that for a while and have been struggling, only now has the government and economists officially said that we're in a recession. With holiday's on the way struggling times don't seem like they're going to go away any faster or easier. The more we look ahead, the more we can see problems on the way.

There is help though during this times, one of the ways we can try to free ourselves from this debt is by looking into debt consolidation tips and resources. People are always looking for the extra help, the extra tips to keep more money in their pockets and less of it going to pay into bills or debts and this is one way to make sure it can happen.

Debt isn't a fun thing especially when your already struggling and living paycheck to paycheck. It seems like today this is how most American's are living. You often feel like nothing is going to go right, the walls are closing in on you or even if one good thing happens, another brings you down and gets you further in debt than you already are.

Check out your options, look into consolidation, see what you can do to keep your payments lower, keep your spirits lifted and don't get discouraged, there's more than one family out there who are in the same situation. We just have to hold on, look at our options and figure out what the best thing to do is.

Annoying Phone Calls

You know, I really hate the situation we’re in. Rodney was unemployed for a while not by choice but because of the state of the economy it forced his company to close. So even with unemployment we still got behind and we got into a bit of debt, we were working on closing those debts off before he lost his job but with being unemployed it’s just not possible.

The worst thing about this is the very annoying, very rude phone calls that you get from these collection agencies. I’ve now resorted to just now not answering my phone anymore if I don’t know the number, I’m just so sick of the harassment even when you tell them to stop calling. I’ve found that online you can now find something called a Harassing Caller Report, this has actually been helpful, I’ve been able to plug in some phone numbers that don’t leave messages to find out they’re ‘unimportant’ to me.

InstallShield Update Service

Computers are so important today in our lives. It seems like everything I do now has a computer related to it in one way or another, I honestly can’t tell you one person that doesn’t have computer technology somehow in their home. We do need to be able to use this technology and understand it as users though and unfortunately a lot of people don’t and rely on other’s to help them.

We need to be able to at least perform functions at optimal capacity when working with computers be it with the hardware or software. Software especially needs to be research and learned and the user has to have the ability to understand and update software as needed to get optimal performance. Most often times you can do this simply by visiting the software’s main website and finding the updated information there and how to update your program. You can also use the installshield service agent.exe this will allow you to access update information via your computer and the internet by allowing it to send notification to you about updates that are available. As a user you can set the frequency of update notifications to your computer so you can check periodically. Using applications like this make a computer even more user-friendly for those who don’t have the knowledge of updating programs/software.

Typing at the speed of light...

I came across something rather interesting today, both a video and a press release. I have to admit, I'm quite intrigued about it actually, this really sounds like something I personally could use and benefit from and I'm sure some of you other bloggers out there as well. Who couldn't use the 'extra hands' when writing blog posts?

Check it out if you have the chance:

Here is another great video review by Lisa, who coincidently writes the blog Lisa Reviews. She writes about how she can write at 150 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard

I think one of the key takeaways from her video, the key insight that is, is that she is able to write a lot more in those spare moments of time that she has while she's doing other things. Sometimes it's great to multitask, but it's even more important to be able to accomplish useful goals in those spare two or three or four minute pockets of time that we all experience throughout the day.

With Dragon NaturallySpeaking a four minute pocket of time can translate into 600 words! That could be three or four e-mails or one or two long blog articles if you're a blogger like Lisa.
Slick

For just $99 you can get started with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and have it trained in running in about seven minutes. The software with version 10 is simply amazing.

I have been writing about Dragon NaturallySpeaking for almost 2 years now. I have been able to type at rates of up to 167 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. That speed was clocked while I was taking a typing test, but even in practical situations when I factor in not only the time it takes to type, but the time that it also takes to edit the words I typed, the end result is that I can still achieve about 100 words a minute, INCLUDING editing time! J

That is extremely fast, and the inclusion of editing time, speaks to the advances that you can see in version 10 as compared to older versions such as version 8 or version 9. It's a lot easier to edit on the fly with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.

So if you're looking for a practical tool for your home office, for your writing or blog work, or even just to keep up with e-mail in your spare time, Dragon NaturallySpeaking can give you the power to Type at $150 Words Per Minute for $99!. Heck, I think I paid that much almost for my last keyboard so that I wouldn't pound my fingers to death. :-)

Sincerely,
Brett Bumeter

PS this article includes about 376 words that I wrote with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. It took me about 3 1/2 minutes to write and edit this article, which is just a little bit better than 100 words per minute and that includes editing time.

The Housing Market

The economy is in bad times, the housing market is in the slumps. This often makes me wonder why the heck we bought our house when we did. I mean of course we’re not psychic how were we to know this would happen? We bought our home at a pretty decent price, but yet my curiosity gets the better of me and I search the listings and check out the houses we could now have at the same price. So much bigger and better, it makes me want to kick myself sometimes, but then again, with the way things are, who knows if we would have been approved for a mortgage.

It’s funny how things all over the country are different, some places there’s a boom in people buying houses while in other’s there’s a slow down. Take for instance the Leander texas real estate market, the houses that are available at such a decent price are just amazing. It makes me think, hmm could Texas be a move for us? Yea, I don’t think so.

Time for Halloween!

It’s that time of year!!! You’ve probably seen so many posts on different blogs about Halloween and Halloween Costumes. So have you decided what you’re going to be this year?
I think I’ve pretty much got my costume down, I needed to find one with limited resources, but I won’t spoil my costume just yet. I’ve looked around and thought hmm, what can I be this year?

Maybe a queen, or a devil, a naughty kitty, a ghost or something else, I just couldn’t find that right costume. I’d love to dress up as something sexy, but I’m just not feeling that right now and besides, if I don’t get to go to a party like I plan to, then what? Walk around trick or treating in something cute and sexy and freeze my butt off while children look at me funny because I’m dressed inappropriately for them for Halloween? I don’t think so. Besides, my costume might already turn some heads and make people think what the heck is she doing anyways, a few people might want to throw eggs at me and really not like me too much for who I’m going to ‘portray’ this year.

Oh well, what can you do? I’m sure once my outfit is complete you’ll see a lovely picture of it up on my blog, but until then I’ll just keep you guessing. So what are you going to be for Halloween this year? Do you have your costume yet?

Find It..

I don't know about you, but I do a lot of screening of calls on my phone. I'm not a big 'phone talker' so unless I know who you are, the phone isn't getting answered. What I do however is check out the phone number when I see it calling, sometimes the area code is a weird one and I'd like to know where the heck that phone call is coming from. Thankfully I can Find Area Codes easily online and my problem is solved!

Top Sites

Sometimes when I’m bored, I just surf around the net, there are so many new things to find if you look hard enough. We all usually just go to the same websites daily, but I really like to find new and interesting sites to visit. I like to find the Top Websites around the web and visit them and see why are they the top? Yea, I can be kind of a nerd at times I guess. It’s also interesting to find places that have User Website Reviews, those I find quite interesting. I wonder what they would say about my own site?

Can it be comfy?

Recently we bought a new air mattress. See here’s the thing, we had a really cheap mattress for our own bed, it was starting to really kill us every night and in the morning our backs were just as sore as ever, so with being that we really couldn’t afford a new bed at the time, we threw ours out and took the bed that we had in the guest room. Still not the perfect bed for me, but much better than what we had.

What we didn’t think about at the time was well, where are our guests going to sleep now (at least until we can afford to buy a futon for that room)? Our solution was to get a really great air mattress. Which wasn’t an easy task, how comfortable would it be? After reading through an air bed review we finally decided on one, and thankfully it’s a 3 in 1 and to my own surprise actually very comfortable, it doesn’t feel like it’s just an air mattress at all, and our guests seem to agree.
