I hate this weekend.....

Seriously, what the hell, am I getting a bad dose of karma or something, because I have no idea what I did wrong!

This weekend just hasn’t been a good one… Never mind the fact that I’ve fallen asleep early every night, and have be ‘interrupted’ by children who decided not to sleep in on the weekend so I can get some morning nookie since you know, I’ve fallen asleep every night I’ve actually wanted to get some…UGH..

Last night I decided to try out my new George Foreman grill which came with a deep dish plate to make lasagna (yes, this is a review item I’ll be reviewing on my other blog). I decided to make a yummy dinner, spinach lasagna, fresh Italian bread, and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting for dessert… Then to send the kids right to bed afterward ;)…

However, that just didn’t happen… The lasagna was a DISASTER… It made me so pissed off I didn’t want to do anything for the rest of the night but lay down and watch cheesy movies (I watched 50 First Dates and Maid in Manhattan), the lasagna basically EXPLODED in the grill, got burnt on the top, and the girls hated it…. Cupcakes were a score, but dinner was ruined….

As I cleaned up the mess that was ALL over my counter, all over the grill and even on the floor I WHACKED my toe on the chair… SO BAD that I let out a super loud SCREAM and could barely walk on that foot… I was convinced it’s broken….

I then later notice THIS is what my toe looks like…..

To make matters even better, I fell asleep after Maid in Manhattan on the couch, and my lovely husband decided that I just need to stay there for the entire night…Which means, I can barely move my neck this morning…It hurts like a MOFO……

Someone throw me a few Davidoff cigars and some wine, lord knows I can sure use it today... Can I just go to sleep and restart this weekend next week?????

Plus Size Lingerie & Costumes....

I found recently with starting to lose weight, I’m embracing different things in my wardrobe, not only the clothing I buy and wear out and about, but also the lingerie that I wear inside the bedroom.

I’ve never been a huge fan of lingerie, it’s probably because I have such a bad body image of myself, but recently I’ve started to like it more and more, and hubby couldn’t be happier! I’ve gotten a few cute outfits that I just love (and hubs does as well!), but I’ve never thought of opting to go the costume route until now.

Lingerie.com offers not only a wide selection of hot, sexy lingerie but they also offer hot, sexy costumes as well! This also isn’t a place where you’ll just find sizes for 0-8 either, they have such a wide range of sizes for just about everyone, including plus size lingerie as well.

I decided to be adventurous for this review and pick out the Study Buddy costume to surprise my hubby with. It was so cute and sexy that I couldn’t pass it up, and the great thing once again, it was offered in plus sizes as well. I was so excited once it arrived to get it on and show it off and one those kids hit their pillows upstairs I went to unbox and get it on!

I don’t think I need to tell you hubby’s reaction, he absolutely LOVED it! I was a little skeptical at first because it’s well, less clothing that normal for me, but I loved it too! It was so comfortable!!! The top was easy to put on as it’s made of a stretch material so it will fit those of us with smaller chests, and those with larger ones as well; it was easy to put on and ties up in the front. The thong that comes with the outfit is so cute and has a little A+ on the front of it. Again comfortable, stretchy and fit great! Then there was the school girl skirt, I have to say I LOVE IT, comfortable like the other pieces and sexy as well as it leaves a little room for a ‘peek’.

I have to say, this being my first costume, I may have to go back and get more because I just had too much fun wearing this and felt sexy at the same time. The outfit’s also held up well from wear, to wash.

I can’t wait to see where my next lingerie adventure will take me, but I love having the ability to shop online anytime I’m in the mood to get a new outfit and love the Lingerie.com caters to my size as well.

You can view more outfits, costumes and other sexy wear by visiting lingerie.com, shipping is discreet, returns are no hassle and the prices are great as well. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter as well, let them know Just Because I'm A Mom sent ya!

Review item was sent to me by lingerie.com for my candid review. Please see my disclosure policy for more information.

What to discuss... Hmmm...

Just Because I’m A Mom has officially launched…. I want to make this place a little different, a little more interactive, a little more about us moms as WOMEN and not just as Mom’s.

Sure, I’ll have lots of product reviews and giveaways going on how can I not, I love doing both, but I’d love to have more topics and discussions going on here as well. Plus, the reviews and giveaways won’t be ‘mom’ oriented, they’ll be women oriented! You’re not going to find reviews on the latest cleaning products, or hottest kids toys, oh no, but you will possibly find reviews for the hottest adult toys and great fashion and beauty products.

So here’s what I want to know…

If there’s any topics, discussions, posts, products, reviews etc that you’d like to see me post about, LET IT OUT!! I want to hear it all, even if you have to leave a comment anonymous, doesn’t matter; I want to hear from you and what you’d like to read about…

Now, let’s get to it, leave those comments and let me know of a good topic or anything you’d like to see me talk about…

Don’t forget you can now follow me on Twitter and ‘like’ my page on Facebook.

How to make a vacation relaxing...

I was searching the net to find a good picture to describe my feelings lately…. The feeling… CRAZY!!

I stumbled upon this…

Yes she’s certifiable… But that’s not the crazy I’m feeling…

I think it’s more like this…

CRAZY, as in my kids are driving me crazy I need a VACATION!!!

Yea yea I know, I just came back from vacation… Ok but really, was it? Two kids, my husband, my best friend, and... MY PARENTS! Truthfully although we had fun, I wouldn’t exactly call spending two weeks camping with my parents relaxing…

What I need is a vacation away, a relaxing one with no nature interfering in my sleep, no setting up of tents, and heck even my kids and parents can tag along if they like…

What I need is a vacation home all set up for me, some peace a quiet, a relaxing pool and some fun things to do for the night or rainy days…

What I need is a stay in one of the Carolina Designs Outer Banks vacation rental! That will put me in a more mellow mood.. Wouldn’t you rather see me like this…

Who wouldn’t love to stay in a 5 bedroom home with 2 master suites? I’ve never stayed in anything like that before, and heck even if we took the kids and parents, we’d have babysitters and still be able to find ‘alone time’ in the house! Never mind the fact that I’d only be 635 yards from the beach.. But wait, do I really want to deal with all that sand? Hmm…

Nah let’s sit pool side instead let the kids and grandparents enjoy the beach while me and hubby relax with some yummy drinks alone by the pool! A rainy day you say? No worries, not only can we hide up in our private refuge not bothered by anyone, or maybe just sneak off to one of the two master suits, the kids can have fun in the lower level game room and play with the pool table, or Xbox.

The adults can enjoy one of the 10 TVs, 3VCRs and 2 DVD players. Guess there will be no fighting over who wants to watch what huh?
Better yet, I think I’ll steal hubby again and relax in the hot tub..

My dream is all about relaxing, and including family at the same time… I’m thinking we need to take a trip to Outer Banks vacation rental, and SOON!

Time to get back on track!

I admit, it’s been hard to get back on track after vacation. It seems like I’ve been gone off and on all summer, and really I have been! I think the longest I’ve been home al l summer has been two weeks, and even then, nothing was as usual as my best friend was staying at our home.

My workout and diet has gone completely downhill. I’ve been eating and drinking things I really shouldn’t have been. Chocolate, cake, desserts… Oh man I’m in big trouble once I step on that scale I know it. Even for someone who doesn’t drink pop regularly, you’d think I had a Soda siphon and Cream dispenser at my disposal with the amount of sugary goodness I’ve been consuming.

Today was the day to make it all stop though. I woke up early and headed back to the gym, my sanctuary! I feel like I haven’t been there for ages, and that’s the truth it felt so good to get back there, work out and get back on track. Even though it was a quicker than normal workout, it was better than nothing and felt great once it was done.

The only thing I need to do now is get back on track with my diet. So, meal planning and grocery shopping it is tonight! We’ve got my mother in law spending a few days with us this weekend, hopefully it doesn’t knock me back off track again, but I think if I have our meals planned, healthy snacks around the house and plenty of time made to go work out, I should be fine. Besides, it’s only a few days I can’t get that far off track.

Next week though, I might have to have one or two cheat days as me and hubby will be celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary!!! I can’t believe 8 years has flown by so quickly, but I’m so happy we’ve made it to that point.

Wordless Wednesday...

My BFF had a belated birthday cake waiting for me when I came back home for a visit...

Our Visit to Hopewell Rocks...

Time has now come to a wind down, vacation has passed and it honestly seems like forever since I’ve had a normal schedule. I’ve honestly been on vacation off and on since the beginning of summer all over the place, now its time to get back to work and our jobs...

Our ‘official’ family vacation this year was a long trek. We, along with my parents drove up to New Brunswick Canada camping, and on the way back home also spent a few days in Provincetown, MA. Vacation was great, we have so many memories, pictures and the girls had a blast. One of the most memorable things had to be walking the ocean floor in Alma, NB when the tide was out. We had to have walked well over a mile out on the ocean floor finding sea creatures, rocks and shells, as well as getting stuck in mud!

Another fantastic memory was visiting Hopewell Rocks while in New Brunswick. This park is just beautiful! A must stop when you’re visiting New Brunswick. During the low tide you can explore the ocean floor and visit the coves and amazing rock formations.

They have posted tide times so you know when you need to be around for the things you want to explore. Twice a day, every day, the tides shift and these are some of the highest tides in the world! It’s amazing to explore what’s beneath the water, but beware there is a TON of mud; I wouldn’t recommend visiting in nice shoes. We got stuck a few times, covered in mud and although there’s a wash down station when you head back up, you’ll want to make sure you’re wearing water shoes or sneakers, flip flops just didn’t cut it!

Once the tide is in, you can still explore the Bay of Fundy by kayaking around the sandstone pillars, or you can take the time to visit the multi-media center to learn about geology and the tides.

Hopewell Rocks is a beautiful park, you’ll also find guides along the way to explain or answer any questions you have. One guide we stopped to talk to had samples of the water, mud and even seaweed which my best friend and father decided to try out since it was edible. GROSS!

If you ask my oldest about her favorite part of vacation, she’ll tell you Hopewell Rocks!

The park is open from mid-May to mid-October and is located on the cost of the Bay of Fundy. What exactly you’ll see at Hopewell Rocks is the amazing work of time and the tide. Cliffs and coves have been carved by the water and tides, and on top of these enormous formations are beautiful trees. During the low tide there’s so much space to walk through, you can literally spend the entire day here. The rocks at Hopewell rocks are called flowerpot rocks, looking at them with the trees on top you can see exactly why they’re called that.

When the tide is high, these formations look just like small islands that are surrounded by water, it’s amazing to see the difference, unfortunately we were only able to get there during low tide, so the only way we could experience the difference in looks was by photos in the multi-media center.

Hopewell Rocks is a great family friendly place to visit and a must see attraction while visiting New Brunswick Canada. There’s even a playground to let the kids run out their extra energy before you hop back into the car, don’t forget to visit the Tidal Treasures gift shop to purchase a memento of your visit.

For more information about Hopewell Rocks and The Bay of Fundy visit their website at thehopewellrocks.ca.

Review is only by the opinion of A Wrestling Addicted Mommy, other views and opinions may vary, please see my disclosure policy for more information. I was provided a discounted group visit by Hopewell Rocks.

Time for an eye appointment...

How long has it been since you’ve had your eyes checked?

I honestly can say, I can’t even remember. I think it’s been a good 8 years or so now, YES that long! I’m horrible with any type of doctor’s appointments, I really need to get in and have them checked. I know I do need glasses or Contact lenses, the last time I was at the eye doctors she had a prescription for me for reading and driving, I know my eyes have gotten worse since then but I just cope.

I also have an Astigmatism in my left eye, and I can really tell that I need to get in and have my eyes checked. The blurry vision in that eye alone bothers me to no end on some days.

I just really hate going to any type of doctor, and hearing the thing about needed glasses just puts in my head that I’m getting old, and I hate that! I hate seeing any part of my body failing at anything, because it reminds me that I’m getting old.
An eye appointment is nothing I know, it’s an easy one, but with my anxiety, I still have a small panic attack, blood pressure goes up and I start freaking out.

Sometime before the end of the year I’m sure I’ll get in there eventually. Hopefully I can get a pair of somewhat cute glasses, that’s my other issue; I really don’t want glasses, UGH! I LOVE sunglasses I have hoards of them, but actual prescription glasses, ICK, I hate them, I hate the way I look in them, and I find them so annoying to wear. I don’t know how hubby does it, he’s got to wear them all day every day and is almost blind without them…

Man, I am so not looking forward to walking into the office and having my eyes checked…

Time to start thinking of fall and winter activities...

School is coming back in session and although we’ve had a fun, carefree summer vacation I’m starting to think of activities for the girls to engage in over the fall and winter months.

My oldest usually plays soccer, she loves it and I want to continue on with it, but in reality, she needs something with a bit more discipline and structure.

I’ve been looking at some Martial arts DVD’s and thinking, hmmm maybe this is something we can enroll her in. I’ve her how much discipline it gives you and maybe it would help her out with listening and focusing more on the task at hand, I’m just not sure if it’s something she would enjoy or not.

So, I’ve asked her a few times if she’d like to join something like Karate, she just kind of looks at me and asks why? I don’t really have a fun filled answer for her, I just ask her isn’t it something that you think would be fun? She’s not sure. “I want to play soccer” she says, which is great! I still plan to keep her enrolled in that, but I’m also thinking this may help her out and be enjoyable for her in the long run as well.

I’m sure we can all benefit from some Martial arts training in one way or another, and heck if she decided she did like it and kept it up, not only will it help her with the discipline and structure, but as she gets older she’ll find it helps her with self defense should she ever need it as well.

I realize it sounds more like I’m trying to convince myself to do this for her, but really I’m just trying to see the benefits in it. And heck, if she doesn’t like it then so be it, I’m not opposed to pulling her out, there’s no way I’ll be one of those parents that makes their kids stick with something they don’t like just because I want them to do it…

Getting back on track...

UGH!!!!!

Seriously I can scream that from the top of my lungs. It seems like since I've been home from vacation nothing has gone right, I've got a TON and I mean a TON of work to do, but I just don't feel like getting back into it..

A 2 week vacation was awesome, I got a break from 'working'/blogging but I just can't get back into it, never mind the fact that I'm PMSing right now and feel like I've gained a ton of weight over vacation. I'm right back on the eating healthy and working out track though, so I guess it's just one thing at a time to get back on routine with my life.

Working out gives me a great feeling, a feeling that not even the best diet pill could give me. I love that sore feeling that I get from working out, which I have today, but it's not stopping me from going again tonight... 1 hr of cardio here I come!

Weird Dreams...

I had one of the weirdest dreams the other night. I was running through a building, to what or from what I can't recall, it was just a bunch of doors and windows and I was running. Something I clearly remember seeing was a bunch of exit signs all clustered together into one corner, but there was no door, no window or anything there, it was just a bunch of exit signs.

Each sign was lit up, some were on the wall, some were in a pile on the floor, but they were all bright red. I had no where to go but to keep running and running down a never ending hallway it seemed.

I probably should look it up in a dream dictionary or something to find out what it means, but at this point I really don't care. Sometimes we have the strangest dreams.
