This fun fact, "Dolly Madison created a sensation when she served ice cream as a dessert in the White House at the second inaugural ball in 1812", was the answer to a question on a history exam that I took years ago. Most of the class, including me, did not answer the question correctly, because the information was under a picture in the textbook. It was never mentioned anywhere else in the book. From then on, I read all the captions and information with the pictures in textbooks.
