The Weightloss Journey

How’s the weight loss going Gina??? I bet that’s what some of you are asking. We’ll I’d love to tell you but when I went to step on my Wii Fit today for it to tell me how I’m doing I got a shocker of some news.

You see, I’ve been doing some Walk at Home Fitness videos along with some other activities for a while now to give me a change of pace from the regular Wii Fit action, so I haven’t weighed mysef oh in about 16 days or so. I’ve started off by doing the Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home videos. Now you must know, I’m not one for workout videos, in fact, I hate them. I have so many of them but can’t get past doing them the first day or two. I either can’t keep up, or I just give up because they’re too hard, or I get bored. But because I needed a change of pace I decided to do some of the Walk at Home videos. I have five of the videos now at home, to workout with and to review, so I decided to do a video each week and to rotate them after that.

I started with the Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home Walk this Way: An easy 30 min. Walk At Home for Beginners. I wasn’t expecting so much, I mean it’s walking come on, and how boring was this going to be? Well, I was in for a shocker. Being a beginner, this video gives you a beginner’s 2 mile walk introduction to the Walk at Home video series and I can say, I am impressed! I actually stuck to doing this video for 5 days during the week (I take 2 days off of exercising). I love Leslie, she’s upbeat and personable, not one of those annoying tiny workout instructors that you want to yell “SHUT UP” to while you’re working out. Leslie Sansone is great; she keeps you motivated and is so friendly while instructing you, if that’s what you can even call it.

The exercise was great; it gave me a workout and a sweat, yes even though it’s walking, and kept me wanting to come back for more. This was something I could actually do, something I could actually keep up with! The video is 35 minutes and with the beat of the music which you walk to, gives you a full 2 mile walk. The Walk This Way video includes in the workout a warm up walk, a brisk pace averaging 4 mph, it also includes mile markers which allow you to choose a 1 or 2 mile walk. At first I thought there’s no way I’ll be able to get through 2 miles, but the exercise is so uplifting and upbeat that you’ve done 2 miles before you know it. The video also features multi muscle moves, this is a compound exercise that gives you a bigger calorie burn rather than just regular walking. There’s also a cool down walk and a stretch at the end.

Any of you who are looking for a great way to get exercise in this is the way to go. All ages, shapes, sizes and genders can keep up with the Walk at Home Walk This Way video, there’s no discrimination. From beginner to advanced exercisers this is a great video.

This week I’m starting my second video The Big Burn: 2 Miles of Intervals, I had my first workout about an hr ago, and WOW I’m still loving it! I’ll have my review on that video next week. To get back to my weightloss well, I guess I’ll have to update you more on that later. Considering I had a great WOOHOO moment when I first stepped on my Wii Fit today only to be let down for it to say I’ve lost a total of 46 lbs….that’s when I knew the battery needed to be charged, I’d love to have lost 46lbs but in 16 days, that’s just not possible.

You can check out Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home videos on her website www.walkathome.com

Keep up the good work. Yes, 46 lbs would be nice in 16 days but...I actually hope that you didn't lose that much because then you would be sickly. LOL!

I just ordered the set last week. I have been doing Leslie's workouts since 2005 and just did the 5k one today. Loved it! I'm giving my mom the one for beginners and I'm looking forward to trying the Walk This Way one. I will also be buying a few of her 5 mile DVD's to give me another jump start.

You should see my shelves, I pretty much have all of her workouts and others of course.

Glad to hear you're using her videos.

hm, this makes me think i should try that video. I have it, a friend of mine gave it to me, but I have never used it because I have a treadmill and figured well isnt my treadmill better? But, maybe not. I wonder if I could do it ON the treadmill?
