My Easter was horrible, how about yours?

My Easter was horrible this year! How was yours? It started out to be looking like it was going to be a great weekend for all of us. We had family and friends coming for the weekend to spend Easter together, had a great Easter Dinner planned for Sunday night, and Rodney and myself even had planned some time for just us while we could take advantage of some babysitting. Everything was looking great until Saturday afternoon.

Saturday we spent most of the day hanging around the house, playing with the girls making an Easter Bunny cookie house and shopping as well. We were really looking forward to Sunday, heading to Detroit to go see some Indy wrestling and go support my friend Elijah (Burke) since it’s been a while since I’ve seen him, especially in the ring. It was supposed to be myself, my husband and my best friend heading to Detroit Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. Apparently, that wasn’t going to happen…. My father was under the impression that they were leaving Sunday afternoon, not Monday like it was originally planned. No one communicated to him that the plan was for them to leave on Monday and not Sunday like normal. It was a holiday on Monday for my mother and my best friend who didn’t have to be at work until Tuesday.

What a disappointment. I was so upset not only would I not get to see Elijah, but that guy deserves and needs all the support he can get when it comes to wrestling and getting back into that ring, with WWE out of the picture for him, I need to show him all the support he could get, but unfortunately that wasn’t going to happen now.

I wasn’t really in the mood to cook for anyone now, so we decided to get Rodney to pick up dinner on the way home for everyone. We couldn’t fully decide on what to get, but eventually we decided on Red Robin. Rodney was going to pick it all up that was until I told him the bad news about Sunday. He was so upset, and decided it would probably be better for us to all go out for dinner now, because he didn’t want to be in the house with all this tension right now, he was pretty upset.

We head to Red Robin, which is the girls favorite restaurant wait to be seated and order up our food. I splurged all weekend with stuff I normally wouldn’t eat, I feel horrible today because of it and have already been drinking slimfast, water and working out all morning. Things were going great, everyone was loving their food, and then the horror happened. Lyric threw a HUGE tantrum because she didn’t want to sit down on her seat. I gave her a few options to stop crying, to come talk to me, and the tantrum wouldn’t stop. Talk about embarrassing! She then had the last option to get over to me and stop crying before I counted to 5 or she would be going back to the car until everyone was finished and ready to go.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5…. No Lyric. Rodney picked her up, and out we went to the car with her kicking and screaming at the top of her lungs, through the restaurant and out to the parking lot, all the way to the car. So embarrassing!!! But I didn’t want her to continue with this mess while people were staring at us. Rodney went back to the restaurant and Lyric and I sat in the car. Trying to get her to calm down but it wouldn’t stop. The kicking, the screaming, the yelling, finally when everyone got back and was done in the restaurant she was still going on. Rodney was so pissed off that he told her if she didn’t stop, Easter would be canceled for her. No candy, no chocolate, no Easter egg hunt….

I’m sure by now you can see where this is going. Easter Sunday was filled with candy and chocolate for Aria, but nothing for Lyric. Nothing but staring out the window watching her sister get all of the eggs herself. The Easter bunny did leave Lyric one thing though, a nice letter explaining why she wasn’t able to participate in the hunt, and that if she behaved maybe in a few weeks she could have another hunt with the extra candy and eggs he left for mommy and daddy.

We’ll see how this goes, I’m sick of the tantrums, but so far, this extreme measure of having her miss out on all the Easter fun has helped and she’s been listening and been an angel since yesterday morning. She understands exactly why she didn’t get to participate, and what she has to do before she can.

The last bit of bad Easter, was last night. Apparently Aria had been sneaking chocolate all day long without anyone knowing the wiser. We were up half the night with one sick, pukey child. I can't believe the amount of chocolate this child threw up. Today, she's great though. Chocolate has been hid, and no more of that will be going on today.

The joys of parenthood! Gotta love it!

BCWA Superslam 7 & Elijah Burke!

Seems like Easter will be a busy time for me this year, I have some family coming down for the weekend, to include my parents, my FIL, and my best friend, oh I can’t forget the dog (Talon) as well. It’s going to be a full house but I don’t mind, not one bit.

Sunday will be a busy day of Easter Egg hunts and cooking, and it looks like some wrestling as well. Former WWE Superstar Elijah Burke will be in Detroit wrestling for the BCWA Superslam Seven show. Since Elijah is my boy, I have to take the time out of my day somehow to get up to Detroit and support him in any way I can. I’m not big on Indy wrestling, yes I like the glitz and glamor and cheesy story lines of WWE, but I’m determined to get there to show my support for my good friend.

He'll be taking on a local Toledo wrestler Black Velvet which is sure to be a great match, both these guys have great talent in the ring.

If you’re a wrestling fan and supporter in the Detroit Area or close enough like I am, come on out on Sunday April 12th to the Tri-City Trade Center, the show starts at 2pm doors open at 1:30pm and tickets are only $5.00 and $3.00 for kids under 12.

Maybe you’ll even be lucky enough to bump into A Wrestling Addicted Mommy while you’re there, be sure to say Hi!

APRIL 12th 2009
SHOW STARTS AT 2PM DOORS OPEN @ 1:30PM

WWE Released Elijah

How sad!

My boy Elijah Burke has officially been released from the WWE. This makes me so sad, talent that was great and as usual for WWE wasn't used to his full potential. He was released on the 13th and I haven't talked to him in a hot minute as we've both been busy with our own lives. I look forward to hearing from him soon and finding out what his future holds. He's got such great talent in the ring and as well as on the mic, he'll definetly find something worthwhile I'm sure of it!

It was so much fun becoming friends with him, running his myspace for him during the past year and all the lovely things he spoiled me with. Elijah is and will always be family around here no matter what his future holds.

One thing I can be happy about tho, is Christian Cage returning to WWE. I've been waiting for this for a while. I'll have my three boys back...Edge, Christian and Jericho my three Canadian boys, so I'm happy with that.

With the Survivor Serious PPV going on right now, Rodney's in the background giving me updates while he watches it on his computer, I sit here watching the American Music Awards and reading and learning about conversion rate optimization boy I'm a mess tonight, too many things going on and then hearing the above news. Wow, what a night...

The Black Pope Unveiled...

Apparently. Those of you know I'm a big wrestling fan, also a big Elijah Burke supporter and friend of his as well. Currently run his Myspace page, as well as co-admin/webmistress of theelijahexpress.com

It's been sad to say that WWE has not utilized some of their great talent. Elijah Burke is one of those guys never used to his potential. However, it seems that the push we were waiting for might actually come. Spoke with him the other night and he told me big changes were on the way. I expect that one of these changes will be my prediction of him moving to Smackdown, which would be one of the best moves for him. On other change seems to be his new "Black Pope" gimick he's been talking about for a while now. Finally as of Sunday night at a dark match, we have a new photo of the new 'look' that our Black Pope Elijah Burke will be sporting.

I'm hoping they go a little more into the gimmick than just this look, I personally friend and fan speaking, am not feeling it. If he's going to be "The Black Pope" I feel they need to add a little more to the look for the gimmick to go over more with the Fan's.

My Day Was Just Brightened to the MAX!

So of course you know, I'm a wrestling fan. Hence my blog name. I also am friends with Elijah Burke and run his 'Official Myspace' for him as well.

I've had a heck of a morning, I've got some reviews and giveaways to post but I have to wait till later tonight cause my net has been screwy all morning, and I hate to start and just loose things, I've been FRUSTRATED beyond belief.

I got some packages in the mail today. One of them, just brightened my day to the max. I am still so excited over it.

Elijah Burke sent me a wonderful package full of autographed items from him to me. I just love that guy, he's always thinking of other people besides himself. How nice of him to do it, I mean come on, who thinks of that???? I got an autographed shirt, hat, arm sleeve and promo pic, along with May's WWE Magazine, A WWE Diva shirt and some personal pic's from his Hall Of Fame night on Wrestlemania (which I have to send back to him). I'm just thrilled beyond thrilled now. Plus I get to go to a house show on May 12th and see him as well (hopefully). TICKED just TICKED with joy this morning......

Here's my full package:

Kofi Kingston and ECW

So I'm sure most of you wrestling fans have already been introduced to Mr. Kofi Kingston. He's got some really sick moves in the ring. He's not just one of your run of the mill new guys in WWE. Kofi has some outstanding moves, nothing like I've ever seen before. Makes me wonder, if these other guys in the ring can actually keep up with him.

So far, it seems like no one can.

Kofi Kingston defeated Shelton Benjamin last night and currently has an undefeated streak. Great news for a new guy on the block. I really truly hope they push Kofi because i believe he has a lot of talent and a lot of potential. He's still very young an can go really far in the wrestling business.

But, I do have to say......... WWE, what is UP with not using my boy Elijah as he deserves to be used?? Elijah Burke is so underused in the WWE right now, he's one of the better guys around. He's got the ring skills, and the mic skills, what more do you want from the guy? Yet week after week he seems to get shafted, oh wait no, he won the other week against Nuzio. Yea that's hard to do...

WWE please start using your actual TALENT that you have on the show, instead of pushing guys who have no real potential (ahem....CM Punk).

Wrestling On The Brain....

Today is just one of those days, I woke up with wrestling on the brain.

Perhaps its because i've been a slacker and really need to update Elijah Burke's myspace page for him before he decks me LOL. I miss that guy, can't wait to see and hear from him again, he owes me a phone call.

Lucky for me, Elijah is overseas right now, but he's written two blogs to the fans himself, so that should buy me some time. I gotta work on that today..... Elijah just celebrated his birthday on April 11th, I won't disclose how old he is, cause well, then I'd have to disclose my real age as well LOL... So Happy Birthday to Elijah!!!!! He had to spend it overseas this year, but hopefully he got to have a great time and had a great day.

May 12th Smackdown/ECW will be coming to Toledo. Now, I know that *I* will be going, that's a given, if I have to make my hubby drop me off so I can stand outside like a freak trying to get pic's and autographs, than so be it. My Mother In Law has been called and asked to come babysit for us so we can both go together, but if she can't I'll be damned if I don't go by myself. Hopefully Elijah won't be missing this house show. I'm looking so forward to it tho, its been since Summertime since i've been to a live show, and this time, hopefully, unless the draft drastically changes things, I'll get to finally see Edge again in person. It's been close to 8 or 9 years since I've met him, and when that happened, it was in a restaurant in Toronto (his home town) and I had no idea who the heck he was cause I wasn't really into wrestling back then. It will be nice to see my fellow Canadian ;)

Anyways, that's my babble about wrestling today, its on my brain, I woke up thinking about it, thoughts about the 'rumored' upcoming draft and how its going to affect me and my dealing with the how show lol.

I have some thoughts on who's going to be drafted where, and some hopeful wishes too, I'll keep those all to myself right now tho.
