Sick of these kids and their disaster of a room...

So yesterday I kind of was in a funk, and it seems to be continuing on to this morning.

My daughter had soccer yesterday which was great, she’s being way more aggressive and getting in there with those boys (she’s the only girl on the team) and getting that ball. However, what got me in a funk wasn’t her soccer game, it was the constant fighting, arguing and yelling that happened before and after the game that did it…

The girls REFUSE to clean up their room. Sure, they’re 4 and 7 but the room is beyond a mess. I’ve cleaned that room from top to bottom one
too many times and now it’s time they take on their responsibility of doing it. You’d think I was asking them to go and get an herbal colon cleansing or something with the dramatics that happens over asking them to clean their room.

Like seriously, I should take a picture but even *I* am too ashamed to post that on my blog with the way their room looks, picture one of those hoarder’s room that you see on the show hoarders… It seriously is THAT BAD! Toys, clothes, books, stuffed animals you name it it’s in a huge pile all over the floor; I can’t even walk in their room…

It’s taking me all I have to not just go up there and do it myself. I have to literally sit here on the floor in front of their room in the hallway to make sure that they clean; otherwise they fight or play and don’t get anything done.

We’ve tried rewards, chore charts, consequences you name it, it doesn’t matter…. So hubby is taking it into his own hands and they’ve been warned. My oldest has soccer today at 4, they have until 3pm to clean that room from top to bottom, we pick up hubby from work after soccer and when he gets home if it’s not done, anything and everything (besides clothing) that’s not in its place goes in the garbage…

I HATE having that done, all that money on toys, I can’t do it…. So I think I’ll be dropping the girls and hubby off at home and going somewhere for a bit, because I’ll be completely surprised if this room gets done at all…

Anyone have any other suggestions because we’re out of them, and honestly as much as a fight, tantrum and crying that’s going to be done once their things go in the garbage, it won’t me a damn thing to them tomorrow morning….

Have you filled your drama quota for the month?

Ugh! Where do I begin?

From sickness, to dealing with drama with my oldest child, going on a weekend trip to visit my parents and then busting my netbook, it’s been a trying couple of weeks.

A few weeks ago we took the girls up to my parents for the weekend to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, had a blast, I cooked the entire dinner, picked some apples…. It was a nice trip. We get home and there’s just drama to be had with my oldest daughter, who decided that she now doesn’t want to go to school anymore….

Find out some of the boys were bugging her quite a bit, so we had a talk with her teacher after some tears and worry. However, my child has a big head already from everyone telling her how pretty she is all the time, and her teacher knows this….. Yet, what does she do? When we’re explaining how silly boys are and sometimes boys bug you at that age because they like you, her teacher decides to tell my daughter “You’re the prettiest girl in the class, you’re always going to have this problem with boys”….

That has now filled my child’s head RIGHT UP!!! Now it’s always, well the boys bug me because I’m the prettiest in the class….. It’s great that she’s got this confidence, always has, but she already knows she’s pretty, her teacher tells others not to tell her that because she’s already got a big head about it, now it’s even worse… Ahhh my coincided child…. Oh well, I guess it’s better than thinking she’s ugly….

So my other woes, I busted my netbook…. This is the 3rd computer I’ve busted lol… I’m not talking about getting a virus, or the hard drive being garbage or anything else, I’m talking about literally busting the computer…. I’ve done it before… Dropped it, fell on the floor, busted…. Dropped the new one, fell on a ceramic tile floor, busted in pieces…. This one….. My phone flew out of my hands and right into the screen…. Hubby tells me I’m going to be banned from computers soon, and maybe it’s time for a desktop, yet I’m sure I’ll find a way to break that too….

Right now, thinking about Orlando Vacations and Disney World vacations would be a nice change of pace right now, but alas, we’re broke! And with Christmas coming up, there’s no way I’ll get a vacation anytime soon like that….

Hopefully my drama quota for the month has been filled!

Oh where, oh where has my motivation gone?

I
’ve lost my motivation. I haven’t been to the gym in a few weeks, there’s been various reasons, I’ve been sick, been super busy, haven’t been home, don’t have the time, I can go on and on.

I’m sitting here this morning, knowing I need to go to the gym; I actually have a short amount of time to go before hubby has to go to work, but what am I doing? Sitting here on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket, still in my PJs watching GMA and complaining about cramps….

My period showed up in the middle of the night last night, unexpected, a week early, and now I’ve got cramps, cramps and more cramps. Combine that with lack of motivation, bloating, and I really don’t feel like going to the gym at all.

Maybe I’ll go tomorrow? Maybe I’ll go next week? I need to find my motivation and get back into my routine, 52lbs gone and I don’t want a pound of it to come back, but with the way I’m feeling today, I feel like at least 10 have….

Why is it that we get into the swing of things, we get going then BAM all of a sudden the daily routine is gone, all of a sudden we’re back in a slump! I need to get out of it, I have to get out of it, I WILL get out of it!!! I just don’t know how to make myself do it exactly.

Maybe if I had a slew of security cameras on me all day that broadcast on my blog, that way you guys could see what I’m doing at all hours of the day, maybe that would get my butt in gear. Something about other’s knowing exactly what you’re doing on a daily basis seems to kick my butt into gear, somehow when I have others pushing me, I can get the unimaginable done, but when it’s just my own motivation trying to get me going, FORGET IT!

Any motivational tips???? I’d love to hear them, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is welcome….. For now though, I think I’m going to try to get back into the swing of things, even if I only get on the treadmill for 30 minutes and come home, something is better than nothing!

Wish me luck!

Sometimes it comes down to meds....

Where have I been? I’ve slacked not only here but on my other blog as well. It’s been a rough couple of weeks around here. I blogged last week about how hubby was away for training for work for a week and how my anxiety was at an all time high, well it didn’t subside once hubby ended up coming home either.

Remember how I said things were driving me so crazy, I wanted to pack up all my camping gear and camping tents and just run away? Well that’s exactly how I felt and that’s when I felt like I was falling off the deep end.

I finally went to my doctors and did something about my anxiety and the depression it was bringing me. I finally did something, finally got on some meds, and am finally starting to feel better.

I’m not 100%, I’m not my complete self again I can’t feel that yet, but the fact that I’m going to talk to someone, the fact that I have some meds that I’m hoping will help have calmed my fears, have made me feel better, have allowed me to get out of bed, get out of the rut or at least start getting out of it and start living a life again.

I’ve suppressed my anxiety for as long as I could by myself, it was time to get help and that I did. I’m not a big fan of meds by any means, but I felt myself it was finally time to do so.

So with that small blurb about where I’ve been, I hope to get back on track with my home, my self, and my blog within the next week or so, actually blogging today is a good start, but I have a ton of stuff to do around my home which has gone through hell and back as well. Bare with me….

What a week....

What a week it’s been. My anxiety as it all time high levels, I’m stressed out, and BLAH!!!

First off, hubby is away for the week, yea yea, most of you would probably be thankful for that right? NOT ME, lol although let’s be honest, he can get on my nerves and I do like breaks, but when he’s away, my anxiety flairs up and I hate being alone! I’m one of those odd people that actually like my hubby being around, and being home and spending time with me… Go figure! I can say, anxiety is really good for appetite suppression though, I haven't had any appetite all week!

We drove him to the airport Monday, and will be picking him up Friday night… I know not a long time, but it feels like weeks to me. There’s no way I could ever be a military wife, I don’t know how you guys do it….

My stress, it comes from my period being a week late….That’s right, we’re careless! We have sex and lots of it, and we don’t use birth control of any kind, no condoms, no nothing… Birth control makes me crazy with mood swings, and condoms…seriously…not that I’d ever tell my girls this because condoms ARE important (when you're NOT married) but come on, what a way to ruin the mood and the sex at the same time, ugh… HATE THEM!!

We don’t want any more kids, no way, no how… The thought of having any more ‘diva’s’ in this house is enough for my husband to want to have a vasectomy, however he still hasn’t found the time to go and do it….

Yes, my period has been in limbo for a week… Last week my husband said I was acting ‘weird’, emotional, moody and just odd… He asked me a question, a question I didn’t want to hear, a question that made me want to grab my camping gear and camping tents and run far, far away. The dreaded question was, “you’re not pregnant are you?” OMG! PLEASE LORD NO!!! He said the last time I acted like this was when I was pregnant… And ever since that dreaded question, I’ve been in fear….

A week late… A husband out of town for this week, do I test? Do I not test? Do I really want to see a + sign on a stick and be alone knowing that I’m going to freak the hell out??? I think NOT! So I wait… Hoping, and praying and CURSING my husband, because you do know that if it’s positive and I am pregnant it’s now all HIS fault for asking that stupid question!

Two nights ago I was on the phone with hubby saying our ‘good nights’ when I screamed out THANK THE LORD! OH MY GOD! THANK GOD!

Hubby was like what’s wrong? What’s going on? My only question was what the hell do you think I would be saying all that for? His response “I don’t know!”. I’m sure you all could guess.. MY PERIOD SHOWED UP!!!! A week late, but it finally came!!! YAY!!!! My husband just cracked up, saying check you out getting all religious now and stuff lol… My only response was SHUT IT!

So my stress is somewhat down now, but man I hate these scares, someone needs to go get snipped and QUICK!

I woke up and it's a start to a brand new GOOD day!

YAY for a new day!!

My allergies aren’t bothering me too much this morning, which is great. It’s freaking COLD here in Ohio though; it’s almost noon and its 64 degrees. Not that I’m going to complain at all, it’s a nice break from the heat, but I’m COLD! Windows are all open; I’ve got on a sweatshirt and wrapped up in a blanket, hoping that this day continues to go well.

So yesterday I let you all in on the fact that I got a job! Its part time and pay will be about $8/hr. Luckily I won’t need to rush out and get a new wardrobe, or id badge printer or even any HID proximity cards, because I get to do it from home, which is GREAT!!! It’s not anything luxurious, but hey, extra cash is extra cash. I’ll be doing some light office work from home for a fellow blogger, a local blogger that writes Saving Money In Toledo. I’m glad to help her out, but to get paid for it at the same time is even better! Especially since Christmas is coming around the corner, I can use all the extra cash I can get, these girls get spoiled off their asses come Christmas time….

So I’m scrounging for content today to write over here, I had a great post thought out last night about couples and finding the time to actually ‘do it’, but it’s gone, lost into space with who knows what else I had in that brain of mine, that only wants to work apparently at night when I’m in bed…

So what’s up with my readers? Anyone have anything they’d like to blurt out there, a topic I can write about and get interesting with? Let me know, I’m open to hearing any and all suggestions you have from me!!!

I am slowly going crazy....

Ahhh life…

It has it’s ups and downs… And lately it seems like it’s been more down than up.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my life, I’m happy with a lot of things, but why is it that everything wrong seems to all happen at once?

Not only that, but my kids are driving me absolutely BATTY! If my oldest isn’t throwing a hissy fit for one reason or another, my youngest is crying about something. They don't want to listen, they repeat themselves 9458430963 times... I AM ANNOYED!!! I have a headache today, my allergies are killing me, and I just want to get away!

I’d love to sail away on one of those Royal Caribbean cruises, but alas we’re BROKE as usual…. Would be nice to get away with hubby since it never seems to happen, nor does it seem it ever will…

A girl can dream….

On a good note, I got a part time job today working from home, so YAY! Hopefully that’s the start of GOOD things to come.

And that's my venting/ranting for today, I thought it would help, but really.... It didn't...

I hate this weekend.....

Seriously, what the hell, am I getting a bad dose of karma or something, because I have no idea what I did wrong!

This weekend just hasn’t been a good one… Never mind the fact that I’ve fallen asleep early every night, and have be ‘interrupted’ by children who decided not to sleep in on the weekend so I can get some morning nookie since you know, I’ve fallen asleep every night I’ve actually wanted to get some…UGH..

Last night I decided to try out my new George Foreman grill which came with a deep dish plate to make lasagna (yes, this is a review item I’ll be reviewing on my other blog). I decided to make a yummy dinner, spinach lasagna, fresh Italian bread, and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting for dessert… Then to send the kids right to bed afterward ;)…

However, that just didn’t happen… The lasagna was a DISASTER… It made me so pissed off I didn’t want to do anything for the rest of the night but lay down and watch cheesy movies (I watched 50 First Dates and Maid in Manhattan), the lasagna basically EXPLODED in the grill, got burnt on the top, and the girls hated it…. Cupcakes were a score, but dinner was ruined….

As I cleaned up the mess that was ALL over my counter, all over the grill and even on the floor I WHACKED my toe on the chair… SO BAD that I let out a super loud SCREAM and could barely walk on that foot… I was convinced it’s broken….

I then later notice THIS is what my toe looks like…..

To make matters even better, I fell asleep after Maid in Manhattan on the couch, and my lovely husband decided that I just need to stay there for the entire night…Which means, I can barely move my neck this morning…It hurts like a MOFO……

Someone throw me a few Davidoff cigars and some wine, lord knows I can sure use it today... Can I just go to sleep and restart this weekend next week?????

Our Visit to Hopewell Rocks...

Time has now come to a wind down, vacation has passed and it honestly seems like forever since I’ve had a normal schedule. I’ve honestly been on vacation off and on since the beginning of summer all over the place, now its time to get back to work and our jobs...

Our ‘official’ family vacation this year was a long trek. We, along with my parents drove up to New Brunswick Canada camping, and on the way back home also spent a few days in Provincetown, MA. Vacation was great, we have so many memories, pictures and the girls had a blast. One of the most memorable things had to be walking the ocean floor in Alma, NB when the tide was out. We had to have walked well over a mile out on the ocean floor finding sea creatures, rocks and shells, as well as getting stuck in mud!

Another fantastic memory was visiting Hopewell Rocks while in New Brunswick. This park is just beautiful! A must stop when you’re visiting New Brunswick. During the low tide you can explore the ocean floor and visit the coves and amazing rock formations.

They have posted tide times so you know when you need to be around for the things you want to explore. Twice a day, every day, the tides shift and these are some of the highest tides in the world! It’s amazing to explore what’s beneath the water, but beware there is a TON of mud; I wouldn’t recommend visiting in nice shoes. We got stuck a few times, covered in mud and although there’s a wash down station when you head back up, you’ll want to make sure you’re wearing water shoes or sneakers, flip flops just didn’t cut it!

Once the tide is in, you can still explore the Bay of Fundy by kayaking around the sandstone pillars, or you can take the time to visit the multi-media center to learn about geology and the tides.

Hopewell Rocks is a beautiful park, you’ll also find guides along the way to explain or answer any questions you have. One guide we stopped to talk to had samples of the water, mud and even seaweed which my best friend and father decided to try out since it was edible. GROSS!

If you ask my oldest about her favorite part of vacation, she’ll tell you Hopewell Rocks!

The park is open from mid-May to mid-October and is located on the cost of the Bay of Fundy. What exactly you’ll see at Hopewell Rocks is the amazing work of time and the tide. Cliffs and coves have been carved by the water and tides, and on top of these enormous formations are beautiful trees. During the low tide there’s so much space to walk through, you can literally spend the entire day here. The rocks at Hopewell rocks are called flowerpot rocks, looking at them with the trees on top you can see exactly why they’re called that.

When the tide is high, these formations look just like small islands that are surrounded by water, it’s amazing to see the difference, unfortunately we were only able to get there during low tide, so the only way we could experience the difference in looks was by photos in the multi-media center.

Hopewell Rocks is a great family friendly place to visit and a must see attraction while visiting New Brunswick Canada. There’s even a playground to let the kids run out their extra energy before you hop back into the car, don’t forget to visit the Tidal Treasures gift shop to purchase a memento of your visit.

For more information about Hopewell Rocks and The Bay of Fundy visit their website at thehopewellrocks.ca.

Review is only by the opinion of A Wrestling Addicted Mommy, other views and opinions may vary, please see my disclosure policy for more information. I was provided a discounted group visit by Hopewell Rocks.

Know what I did?????

Today I sit and think, I’m so proud do you know what I’ve done? I’ve lost a total of 43lbs!!!! Since I started dieting and exercising (off and on, more on now) since last year, I’ve lost a total of 43lbs!!!

There was a time that I was thinking about going for bariatric surgery, but hubby said no, I had lost the weight before and I could do it again, and so far, he’s right! I have been doing it, slowly but surely and I’ll make my goal! I only wish I didn’t have a ton more weight to lose.

It doesn’t matter though, if it take me another year I WILL DO IT!!!

I'm Trying...

I'm trying, I really really am. Have you ever got so behind on your posts, so behind on your emails that your just overwhelmed and don't know where to start? That's where I'm at now! It doesn't help that I'm also trying to work on the other blog so I can finally officially move to our own domain, yet for the past 4 days now I've been sidetracked with a horrible sinus headache!

I woke up this morning thinking it was gone but boy was I wrong. At this point if it continues I'm going to have to head to the doctor because even typing this out and looking at the screen right now, my head is screaming back at me.....

I'm trying, I really am... But with this headache, nothing is going to be worked on until I'm feeling better, which I'm hoping is by tonight, because I hate being so behind!!! I know, I know.. .Emails, posts, reviews and even paid web directories can wait, but really when your on a deadline sometimes it just adds the pressure, and I hate the feeling of a looming deadline passing...

Is Spring Break Over Yet???

I swear, this week can probably go down in some worst week ever directory submission! From my PMS, to my stupid neighbors, to some financial issues and now onto my lovely children…

You see, we’ve had issues in the past with scissors, especially with my 6 year old, who thinks she’s the designated house hairdresser for her and her sister. She’s cut her own hair, she’s cut her sisters hair, she’s cut stuffed animals hair, she’s cut barbies hair, you get the issue. Scissors are NO LONGER ALLOWED to be used by her unless it’s supervised or for homework. I’ve hidden ALL of the kids scissors and put them away, our scissors are in the kitchen drawers and she’s been told millions of times not to touch them.

Another issue is makeup. Apparently not only is she the house hairdresser but she’s also the house makeup artist, it’s not just her though, it’s my 4 year old as well. If they can get their hands on makeup, they’ll go on a makeover spree with the both of themselves and their baby dolls. They’ve been told now numerous times NOT to touch mommy’s makeup, yes they do have their own, but right now, thanks to their makeovers they’re all gone too. They’ve also been told NOT to touch anything in the hallway closet unless they’re told they’re allowed to. You see, that’s where all my makeup, nail polish, hair things etc etc are kept. Theirs are kept in there as well at a lower level, I try to keep my things high where they can’t reach.

Well, apparently my children don’t learn lessons, or listen to me. Yesterday I caught them with my clear nail polish painting the dresser and the T.V. in the guest room. After getting yelled at and I put it away and told them they were NOT to touch my stuff anymore I thought it was over… YEA RIGHT!

Today my youngest came downstairs into the living room to say mommy I’m so pretty with pink MARKER all over her face used as blush and eyeshadow…. OK kinda funny but not really. I told her to go upstairs and wash that off her face, and she did with water, soap and a face cloth. I was happy! Until she came down while I was cooking dinner, with what looked like soap all in her hair. No big deal I thought, she’s having a bath tonight anyways I’ll get it all out then. I went about cooking dinner. Called the girls down for dinner and everything was good.

As they were eating dinner in the kitchen at the table, I came into the living room to watch some T.V., all of a sudden I hear crying and screaming. I go to see what’s wrong and my youngest saying “Lyric cut my hair!” OH…No!!!!!! I say how much did you cut? She said I was trying to get the white stuff out of Aria’s hair! I said you were SUPPOSED to be eating dinner! I asked my youngest where the hair was that her sister cut, and she said in the garbage. I go check and it’s a handful of hair! I’m now FUMING MAD!!!

My oldest is then sent to her room for the rest of the night, my youngest finishing her dinner and then into the bath she’s going…

Once in the bath, I notice a weird smell in her hair… Kinda smells like nail polish, and the white stuff, yea not soap, it’s hard and sticky. I asked her what is in your hair? She says “Lyric put nail polish in my hair”. If I’m not fuming mad already, I dunno what I am now because I’m so mad, I don’t think there’s a word for it!

The girls have the guest room as their play room when no one is visiting. All of their toys are in there, a TV is in there for them and that’s about it, yet somehow they manage to get things they’re not supposed to be into! Normally they can be trusted, apparently that’s in the past…
Tomorrow there will be a HUGE overhaul of the upstairs including their room, and the guest room as well as a new lock on the closet door in the hallway, and a lock on the guestroom door where they are now no longer allowed to play in!

It’s a rainy day here, they were having fun outside in the rain for a bit today, and then wanted to go watch TV and play upstairs, then thinking nothing more could go wrong, someone finds the scissors they’re not supposed to be using while they’re supposed to be eating dinner….

This is the week from hell, and go figure, it’s Spring Break….. Only 5 more days till she’s back in school, I have to keep telling myself that…. UGH!!!!!!!!

Dear Stupid Neighbors...

I need to take some time to vent a little here…. It’s more of a babble, but it’s just ‘that time of the month’ and I’m really, to be honest… BITCHY right now. I love springtime, I really do, but you’ve seen my rants about my neighbors via my blog and twitter, but once the winter is over, and when I think that’s bad, I remember springtime brings them outdoors even more…

Being that it’s ‘that time of the month’ probably makes it even worse than it is, but why do they have to be so LOUD? Why do they not teach their grown children about other people’s property, and why don’t they learn to drive on their DRIVEWAY instead of on my lawn!!!

Between the cramps, the cravings and the slathering of acne cream on my face, I’d really like not to deal with my stupid neighbors, it just makes things 10x worse.

OH! And to make things even better this morning, as I was closing the upstairs windows a tad because of the rain, I got a beautiful glimpse of a full moon this morning. That’s right, I’m being sarcastic here, because belive me, it wasn’t beautiful! My neighbor bending over right in front of my window ASS FULLY OUT of his shorts… Almost made me want to puke…

So, dear neighbors of mine…. Please just GO AWAY because this is year 2 and I dunno how much more of you I can handle, I can’t be the nice quiet silent neighbor for long if you don’t stop honking your horn, yelling, being loud, not respecting my property and the various other annoying things you do. Your past neighbors must be so thankful you’ve moved, I feel sorry for the people that move into our house if we decide to move before you do…

Health Care Reform leads to De-friending on Facebook...

Why? That's my only question....

Why is it that when you're friends with people in the Facebook community once you say something or do something on your own wall, on your own status and are having a civil 'debate' about something like ohhh let's say Health Care Reform, once you have opposing views, other's chime in with their opinions, it was a civil conversation no name calling etc. etc just facts and opinions, why take your ball, go home and de-friend me?

Asking questions, debating reasoning etc. etc is how a debate works, if you weren't ready to debate, why step into the conversation in the first place, and then why de-friend me because you don't like the things going on in my conversation....

It's easy, stay out of the 'debatable' conversations, and just talk to me about my diet supplement review or something easy, where you won't get offended, where you won't get all huffy, and stay my friend!

I really don't understand people sometimes …. By the way, this Health Care debate/reform whatever going on, is exhausting! (and no, I don't want to debate this on the blog...)

Sucess for all....or is it???

As a parent we have many decisions we have to make, most of them are about our own children and their future. Education is something I think about a lot, and it's very important to me for my girls to be able to get the best education that can be provided for them at that point, and that doesn't always include the education they get at school.

However, my daughters school and the entire district is headed for some cuts that I'm just not fond of. I know schools across the country are going through this, and it's sad that cuts to things like the arts which is very important to our family and education have to suffer because of educational cuts that have to be done. I'm already thinking in my head what we're going to do in the upcoming school year and beyond, whether we pull my daughter from the public school district we're in and go to a charter, private or Montessori school, or keep her in and try to enroll her in programs we can find out of school, so we get her all the education she can take in without suffering.

Last night I was informed that the reading program they have at her school called Success For All (SAF) was going to be cut by the district. Something I was not happy about at all! The Success For All program is a comprehensive reading approach designed to ensure that every child will read at grade level or above, you can read more about Success For All by visiting their website www.successforall.net. As parents, we were sent home a letter about this, and asked to write to the district about our displeasure with them cutting the program, which I did!

My daughter has been excelling at reading, she loves it, and has been striving to do her best so that when they had their reading test, she would test above grade level and her goal was to go to the 1st grade reading program. She had her reading test last week, and came home saying she did really well and thinks she'll be going to 1st grade reading.

This morning I was chatting with my daughters teacher, I was telling her about how I wasn't happy with a lot of the cuts, but was equally disappointed that they'd be cutting SAF. She in turn told me that she was being pulled both ways and she wasn't too sad to see it go, I kinda of just looked at her sideways like are you kidding me? She explained to me further though. Only two schools in the entire district participate in this program, and while its a great program, if you leave this school and don't go to the other one that is provided with this program, that you would be back where you started. THAT I didn't know. She told me that my daughter tested high on her reading test, and she's so glad that she's excelling and wants her to push herself, she'll be starting with her 1st grade reading when they get back from break. I was happy to hear that.... However, there's a few things I didn't know!!

Her teacher informed me that my daughter will now be missing 90 minutes a day of Kindergarten to go up to the 1st grade class to spend their reading time with them. Which means she'll be missing the fun things they do that she knows (and I too) that my daughter loves, like calendar time, farm, animals, feathers that sort of fun curriculum that my daughter enjoys. She'll be missing all this to go to the 1st grade class to read. I was blown away, as a parent, shouldn't this be something disclosed to us? Shouldn't we have a say/choice in this?

I'm so happy that my daughter who never went to daycare, preschool or anything before her first year of Kindergarten is excelling at reading, it makes me feel good to know that I've been doing well with her at home, I'm so proud of her that she's at a 1st grade reading level, but I'm not happy that she's going to be missing educational things that she enjoys! I was under the impression that when they went to 1st grade reading, it wasn't any different, they were in a different classroom yes, but I thought it was during the rest of her classes reading time. Apparently that's how it USED to be but they since changed it, and she told me, even when the parents have come in to complain, it's a oh well your child tested here, your child is going to be staying here....

I now need to decide who I need to talk to and if I do talk to anyone and I don't just mean picking up one of the cellular phones to do it either, I'm talking about going in to talk to SOMEONE face to face! I'm thinking about letting my daughter see for her self first, but if she starts to complain about missing things her own class is doing, I just might have to step in and fix things. I can challenge her reading at home further if I have to, and we already do that anyways...

As a parent I feel pulled in different directions here. This is something that should be decided by myself and my family, something not forced to happen, something that should have been communicated to the parents a little better because we/I had no idea this is how the program works. Had I had known, I don't know that things would have been any different but I also know that I may not have pushed her so hard to excel with her test. Not that it would have made a difference, she reads well, that I wouldn't want to change, we read at home all the time and I do it with her every night, I want her to excel with her reading, but I don't like that other curriculum at her grade level now has to suffer, and now I don't know what to do.....

Kiss can Kiss my ....

Thursday ended up being a REAL BAD DAY for me....

Hubby was off, so we decided to go shopping after we picked up my daughter from school. It was around dinner time when we went so we decided to stop off at IHOP to get a bite to eat. Thing was, I was attentively listening to the local radio station Kiss 92.5 because I had got a text message a few hours before, letting me know that at 5pm they were going to be giving away tickets to WWE RAW that's coming to town in May! Hell if I was going to miss that chance! They were giving away tickets before they were available to purchase to the general public.

Lucky for me, Kiss 92.5 is available on Iheartradio on my Blackberry, so as we're in IHOP I was sitting there with one earbud in my ear listning for my chance to call in, hubby's phone in my other hand, and trying to call and eat at the same time....

A few times I got rings and then nothing... They ended up giving the first pair away to some chick, this is what the DJ wanted, someone upbeat, someone who could say they were a huge wrestling fan, um HELLO!! A Wrestling Addicted Mommy!! There's no one in Toledo who's a bigger fan than ME! (ok hubby says that's not true because he's a bigger fan than me but I disagree! Lol)

They announce that they're going to give another ticket away and you have to prove that your a huge fan, so I continue to call and call and call. We get into the car and it rings... BOOMER the DJ picks up and I ask if they're still giving them away, he says yes! I SPEW OFF at 859034850 MPH how much of a wrestling fan I am, why I deserve the tickets, mention my blog, my twitter name, the websites I've ran etc I wasn't telling him abut any diet pill reviews or anything, I was mentioning wrestling things and proving why I'm a huge fan, even the amount of years both hubby and myself have been fans... I get the tickets right???

WRONG!!!

Jackass (excuse my language) Boomer says he doesn't believe that I”m in Toledo! Um HELLO?!? Yes I called the 877 number because whenever I call the local number it tells me the number has been disconnected or changed... No big deal...Not ONCE did anyone say you have to be a Toledo resident to win anyways! So I tell him yes I am, I tell him where I live, he says no I don't believe you, I said dude I'm at the IHOP and told him what street right now, and he said no sorry I don't think you're in Toledo and he HUNG UP ON ME!

This had me FUMING MAD for the rest of the day!!! I'm still so mad that I”m not even listening to that station anymore! But screw you Kiss 92.5, I got myself some better seats than you were probably giving away anyways!!

I met Alicia Keys!!!!

So during the beginning of March, I had a HUGE exciting surprise. I didn't blog about it for a few reasons, one being I wanted to have the official photo of what happened before I did and two, I really wasn't sure how the photo was going to turn out, I've been working on myself without weight loss pills but man, do I wish there was some magical pill that would make me just as beautiful as her...

For those who don't know, I'm a HUGE Alicia Keys fan. She's one of my all time favorite female artists. I've seen her in concert a few years ago, and was bummed she was coming to Detroit and I wasn't going.

I'm an Alicia Keys VIP member via her website, basically a fan club member. I've been trying to enter to win tickets whenever I can. Well the one day they had a contest for winning a Meet and Greet. Of course, I entered, figuring, If I win, we'll figure it out and I”ll get tickets. Not thinking that I'd actually win a meet and greet...

Well... about 4 days before the concert, I got an email... I WON!!!!!!!!!

I was FREAKING OUT!!!! I can't believe I won a meet and greet with Alicia Keys!!! Right away I bought two tickets, called up my mom and BEGGED her to come down to babysit, however hubby had to work and couldn't get it off, and I wasn't about to go alone, so I called up my best friend and of COURSE she was willing to come on down and head to the concert.....

We had such a great time, met a few new friends as well and of course Alicia Keys! She was so sweet and I'll never forget meeting her, just seeing the picture again gets me all excited and AHHHHH! Yea, this is just about as exciting if not more than meeting my wrestling boys!!! My only wish was that we got a bit more time with her, I would have loved to talk to her more. I've got my autographed pic, my photo with her, and lasting memories of such a great concert as well....

Becoming Healthier Overall...

A lot of things have been going on with me lately. I've been trying to live a healthier life, things this past year (2009) have really gotten to me, and led me to believe that I'm not doing the best I can be doing, not only for myself, but as a role model to my children. So I've started to eat healthier, work out, and try to work on my body image as a whole, but that isn't all I have to do. I worked myself up to finally seeing a doctor after about 4 years and having a physical, I went to the dentist for the first time in I don't even know how long last year, and the next thing I have to do is go and see an eye doctor about some new eyeglasses.

It's been forever since I've seen an eye doctor. The last time I went, I must have been a teenager. I”m so bad at going to see doctors of any kind, my anxiety sinks in and I think the worst of the worst is going to happen, meaning even if they tell me I just need some reading prescription glasses, I'll question everything and think the worst of that as well.

I know that I do need to go, I know that since I've started driving again I really need to get those new glasses that I was told long ago that I need to wear when driving. It's just finding the time between life, all these other appointments I've been making, and the money that it's going to cost, to actually head out the door and do it!

Hubby went and got new glasses last year, and it was pretty expensive, even with our really great insurance, however, he's got really bad eyes and I know mine are no where near as bad as his, yet I worry about the cost of not only the appointment, but the actual glasses themselves as well. I know there are a lot of places where you can get glasses online, and most of the prices I've seen have been really great, a lot cheaper than I've seen in stores or the optometrist. We have ordered hubby's glasses online before and it worked out great, I think it's just time I get my butt in gear and get this done for myself as well.

I guess this blog post was mainly to just psych myself into doing this, going to one more doctor and getting over another hurdle. Being healthier doesn't mean just weighing less and looking good. It means getting my entire body in better shape and health, that includes my eyes as well...

For Love or Money...

The other night I had a dream and I thought it would make a great blog post.... Are you in it for love, or money...

What would you do?

The other night I had a dream about being swept off my feet by some ultra rich guy. He rang our doorbells and offered hubby to be taken care of by giving him millions of dollars, paying off the house, and giving him expensive gifts. In return, the only catch was that I had to leave hubby, get a divorce and move in and marry this 'rich guy' along with my two girls. The girls and I would be set for life, private schools, the best health insurance, money, a great house etc etc, no pre-nup nothing.... In my dream I was asked to make the decision, I woke up before I learned what my decision would be... (btw the dude in my dream, not bad looking at all! lol)

There are millions of scenarios that I could go through, but really, are you in it for love or money? It would be great to never have another worry in the world, and have the girls taken care of for the rest of their lives with no worry, but there would be no love. I could have always said sure, and sneak behind 'rich guys' back to see my hubby on the side, but would it all be worth it?

What would you have done? What would your decision be, stay in your current relationship where your just making ends meet but have a great life full of laughter and love, or trade it all in for the unexpected but be taken care of with no worries for the rest of your life or your children's lives?

Off for the weekend....

Why is it when we're going away, ONLY for a weekend, my children feel the need to pack just about every toy they own!

We're headed to Canada this weekend to visit my parents and for some adult time with my best friend. How lucky do I feel, 2 weekends in a row I get out without kids! This is probably a first in the past 6 years!

I'm however, ready to leave, the children have made my work extra hard before we go though because now I have to UNPACK everything they packed. You'd think they were going to live at my parents house or something. It's only for a weekend, yet the amount of toys, books etc. that they've packed is unbelievable. Not to mention that they have all this stuff at their grandparents house already for when they come visit...

Oye! Wish me luck, have a great weekend everyone!
