Time to work it out....

Good morning!!! I’ve been up since about 6am, yet just got out of bed. My oldest is staying home from school today complaining of a tummy ache (ugh), so it looks like I’m going to have my hands full today with both the girls at home. My youngest is pretty happy about her sister staying home, poor kiddo misses her playmate when she’s at school.

Myself. I’m starting with my daily fitness today!!! I’m going to try to post each day what I’m doing to keep myself accountable as well. Here’s one thing about me. I love to workout, if I’m at the gym. At home, not so much, workout videos bore me, and I get tired of doing the same thing over and over and over again. So what I found out was giving myself a bit of variety and different things work best.

Until we can actually afford a gym membership (which hopefully will be sooner than later), I’ve got to work with what I have. A normal day consists of me walking my daughter to and from school which combined is about a 20 minute walk, but with walking with a 3 year old it’s a slow, slow walk.

You’ll find my routines vary from using my Wii Fit, Wii console for games like EA Sport Active (I have both bundles now yay!), Your Shape and Just Dance. I’ll also be doing the Leslie Sansone Walk At Home videos as well as my beloved Kettleworx workouts. Once the weather gets better I hope to get outdoors more, but that seems like a long ways away right now with the cold and snow we have....I hate the cold!!!

Today I’m going to start out with something fun and simple since I have a ton of things to do around the house today; I’m going to start out with the Just Dance game for the Wii.

Ubisoft's self-explanatory title Just Dance lets up to four music-loving gamers shake their bodies to the beat of more than 30 licensed dance songs. Players use their Wii Remote to mimic real dance moves as they swing their arms and move their legs to hits spanning multiple decades, including: "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, " Groove Is in the Heart" by Deee-Lite, and " Hot N Cold (Rock Version)" by Katy Perry. ~ All Game Guide

Sounds like it’s going to be more fun than a workout, this is the first time I’m trying the game so we’ll see just how much ‘moving’ it will get me doing. I hope to do at least a ½ hour workout with it, maybe more but no less. We’ll see how it goes! Maybe I'll get into the best shape I've ever been this year.... Maybe even good enough to wear a bathing suit and vacation at one of the lovely st lucia hotels. Now that one.... That's a stretch of the imagination! Lol!!

Sharpen the Mind, Shape the Body!

The new year is here, that means a lot of us have some new years resolutions, including myself! Mine, to be a healthier person, loose some weight, and be able to be a better mother to my children. I've been doing great so far as you can see from my 'progress reports'.

I've lost a total of 7lbs so far since I've started my journey to a new me! I'm very excited, and besides my diet, the one thing I have to thank for this.....My Wii Fit! I use it daily, for at least 30 minutes a day and I can say, it gives you a GREAT workout! I can't wait to get my hands on a few more games like My Fitness Coach and Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum. Just a few more games to help me reach my goal.

Gamestop not only stocks the above titles that I'm hoping to purchase next, but they want to help you experience person growth through the world of gaming and have come up with the “Sharpen the Mind, Shape the Body” program where you can find a wide variety of games to help keep you, a little healthier, they're also offering a special incentive:
“As a special incentive, all shoppers who spend $35 or more on designated products will receive a free 12-month trial subscription to their choice of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Redbook, Good Housekeeping or Esquire.”
Check out Gamestop to learn more about their program and view the games that are available.
