Walmart Holiday Meals...

With the current economy a lot of people are struggling this holiday season. Some are cutting back on gifts, others are cutting back on traveling, but Walmart wants to make sure what you don’t have to cut back on is those great holiday Family dinners this Christmas.

The economy impacts at least 80% of people’s holiday plans and right now everyone is looking for the best ‘bang’ for their buck. Enjoying holiday meals with families is one of the most important things of the holiday and with the majority of people planning to entertain 7 or more people, Walmart’s fresh and affordable holiday meals help those entertaining eliminate at least part of the stress associated with holiday entertaining.

Walmart has come up with two great deals: Christmas Dinner for Eight for only $30 and a New Year’s Eve party for 10 for under $40. Who can’t use budget friendly help like this during the holidays?!

Walmart's Christmas Dinner for Eight under $30 provides all the ingredients necessary for a traditional meal, including a 10-lb Spiral Cut Half Ham, three cans of Del Monte green beans, one 10-lb bag of russet potatoes, Sara Lee dinner rolls, and a pumpkin pie. The New Year's party basket for 10 for under $40 includes a Shrimp Tray, Vegetable Tray, Hillshire Farms Little Smokies, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Land O'Lakes Egg Nog, and a Red Velvet cake.

If you’re in need of some new and fresh ideas and recipes, Walmart has teamed up with Aarón Sánchez of Food Network to share some cooking tips, recipes and unique ideas he’s created with Walmarts basket of holiday and New Year’s Ingredients.

So don’t stress out, don’t even fret about how you’re going to afford to feed all these people this holiday season, head out to Walmart for some great, inexpensive ideas just right for your budget. You can visit www.walmart.com for more information.

I did the bulk of my entertaining at Thanksgiving this year. But, no matter when I entertain, I try to spice up my normal menu with just a few new dishes to keep within my budget. I also try to reuse whatever table decor I already have, instead of buying all new!

Thanks for the chance!

We always have a few friends over for New Years Eve. We do a couple of hot appetizers and a couple of cold appetizers. The entire house is lit by only the fireplace and candles. I could put this gift card to mighty fine use!!!!!

I get to help my mother with the meal at her house. Everyone else brings a dish, but I'm helping her with the "main" stuff so this would come in very handy!

My family all came here to celebrate the holidays with me. Which was really nice. They all live in another state, so it's nice when we can all get together. I love Walmart, so this would be great to win. Thanks for having the contest!

We did not have to entertain this holiday season. We were guests at 4 family functions, though, and took at least one dish to pass, if not more, to all of them.
