Walmart Holiday Meals...

With the current economy a lot of people are struggling this holiday season. Some are cutting back on gifts, others are cutting back on traveling, but Walmart wants to make sure what you don’t have to cut back on is those great holiday Family dinners this Christmas.

The economy impacts at least 80% of people’s holiday plans and right now everyone is looking for the best ‘bang’ for their buck. Enjoying holiday meals with families is one of the most important things of the holiday and with the majority of people planning to entertain 7 or more people, Walmart’s fresh and affordable holiday meals help those entertaining eliminate at least part of the stress associated with holiday entertaining.

Walmart has come up with two great deals: Christmas Dinner for Eight for only $30 and a New Year’s Eve party for 10 for under $40. Who can’t use budget friendly help like this during the holidays?!

Walmart's Christmas Dinner for Eight under $30 provides all the ingredients necessary for a traditional meal, including a 10-lb Spiral Cut Half Ham, three cans of Del Monte green beans, one 10-lb bag of russet potatoes, Sara Lee dinner rolls, and a pumpkin pie. The New Year's party basket for 10 for under $40 includes a Shrimp Tray, Vegetable Tray, Hillshire Farms Little Smokies, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Land O'Lakes Egg Nog, and a Red Velvet cake.

If you’re in need of some new and fresh ideas and recipes, Walmart has teamed up with Aarón Sánchez of Food Network to share some cooking tips, recipes and unique ideas he’s created with Walmarts basket of holiday and New Year’s Ingredients.

So don’t stress out, don’t even fret about how you’re going to afford to feed all these people this holiday season, head out to Walmart for some great, inexpensive ideas just right for your budget. You can visit www.walmart.com for more information.

On Christmas Eve I had 24 people in my house. We had potluck so everyone chipped in. I got to try some great new recipes that I found blogging, so that was fun- and yummy!
I'll leave New Years Eve celebrations to the younger set. Some how that ball dropping isn't as exciting anymore! ;-)

With the holidays 1/2 over I'm cooling my heels the rest of the way until New Years. My house was full of hustle and bustle with family and friends throughout Christmas. New Years Eve and New Years Day don't really qualify as holidays for me any more since my job involves Uncle Sam and tax season so I'll spend those days at the office, as usual, while the rest of my family enjoys the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game on TV.
