The Perfect Pet...

We’ve got two cats, we’re thinking about adding a puppy to our family and the girls have asked for smaller animals like lizards and hamsters for some time now, but with my cat’s there’s no way the little creatures would survive. My other issue, I really don’t want to be the one to take care of the hamster, as much as it can teach the girls some responsibility, they’re a little too young right now to take on the full responsibility a pet like a hamster will take on.

That’s why when Mom Select gave me the opportunity to review Zhu Zhu Pets I was right on board. These cute little hamsters are great pets for kids. No feeding, no vet bills, no bathing, no nothing just tons and tons of fun!

These battery operated interactive, hamsters move around on their own in their own little world/play sets. There are two play modes: Nurturing mode which the hamster makes cute little coo’s and noises and Adventure mode where the hamster will explore their world and will respond to bumps and rooms and all the fun they’re having. I know what your thinking, great another battery operated toy, just what we need I thought the same thing, but seeing how cute they are I honestly don’t mind the batteries as they seem to last quite a while. The hamsters take 2 AAA batteries and they are included.

We were sent a Zhu Zhu Pet along with many pieces of their play set. Set up of the play set/world was frustrating at times but more or less pretty easy when they did snap together properly. I do have to say you need to have a lot of room for this toy, which we don’t really have there’s a lot of pieces and the entire thing can become quite large. We did also have a lot of 'incidents' with Mr. Squiggles falling over, but the girls really didn't care. This probably is not one of my favorite toys for the girls simply because of all the pieces/extentions, but they seem to love it, just take a look.

The girls have already asked for a playmate for their Zhu Zhu pet and for additional pieces for Christmas, they honestly play with this toy almost daily, I can see this being one of the “IT” toys this upcoming holiday season. Now I know what your asking, you're asking where can I find a Zhu Zhu pet? Just take a look at any major toy retailers, although right now, they're really hard to find so if you see em, be prepared to scoop them up quickly!
