Bottled Water: Good for you and the planet

I’m one of those snobby people that are too good for tap water, yes I said it, I refuse to drink tap water, I hate it and it just tastes, well bad! To me anyways….So that leaves me drinking a ton of bottled water, our trip to Sam’s Club always includes a few cases. But lately, I’ve been thinking, how bad is it to keep throwing away all these plastic bottles? I mean, I’m always trying to be a little greener, trying to keep our earth great for my children and the future, but using all these bottles and just throwing them away is probably not the best of ways to do that. Plus, I’m very picky when it comes to water, people always say you can’t tell the difference, but leave it to me, I CAN! I’m so picky with my water, even with the bottled water they all taste a little different to me (yes I’m weird so sue me lol).

I was introduced to a product called Primo. The Primo Water Company claims that their water is 99.99% pure and 3 out of 4 consumers preferred the taste of Primo bottled water over municipal tap water and other bottled waters. I had to try this out. I let my bottles chill in the fridge over night and the next day cracked one open. IN HEAVEN! The water tasted amazing, it really did taste so pure and clean and was the most refreshing thing. I notice with some bottles of water sometimes you get that plastic taste, not with Primo, no plastic taste what so ever!

Maybe the not so plastic water taste could be attributed to the packaging that Primo uses for their water bottles. Primo states that their bottles are an “American Grown Bottle made from corn, not crude oil”. Corn? For a water bottle, hmm, that was pretty interesting (what is it that can’t be made from corn nowadays??). Primo Water is the first available bottled water whose bottle is made from plants. Their bottles are also free of Bisphenol A, which is another great plus for this company. It doesn’t make me feel so badly about drinking bottled water. Finally a water that’s healthy for me and for the planet! (Ok well technically if I got the water from the tap, it would be just as healthy for the planet but work with me here, I’m talking about bottled water)

Primo water is very affordable as well and is carried in many locations throughout the country including Kroger owned stores. Visit the Primo Water website to find a location near you.
