Can someone answer me a simple question?

Please?

Why is it, that when my 4 year old is told to "clean up" it seems to take her 20 years to do it? She tells me "It's Too Hard" I tell her then she shouldn't have made the mess in the first place. When I go up and check on her, her and her sister are slowly picking up the toys and playing at the same time.

I'm sorry you'd rather play, I'm sorry that you made the mess and it's "too much stuff", maybe I should take all those toys away if its too much and then you won't need to worry about cleaning up a mess cause you won't have any toys anymore.

This then brings on the tears. I am really not in the mood to fight her on this today, I guess its a blessing, at least if she's up there cleaning for a million years then its quiet LOL

Sounds like you should take her toys away for a week show her how "not so much" stuff feels. lol That would be a veture.

Oh how I can relate. I finally followed through on my threat to "throw them all away" and filled 2 garbage bags of toys that she wouldn't clean up. She learned. She was cleaning up the other night and said "I'll pick this up mommy so you don't throw them in trash bags again!" ;) She's slowly earning back the "trashed" toys. ;)
