This organization was created by former ECW/WWE wrestler Dawn Marie in an effort to help create awareness and money to support the health care needs of retired Professional Wrestlers.
What most people don’t know about the wrestlers who entertain us week after week is that health insurance is hard to come by.
Most end their career with none at all, what most people don't know is that wrestlers are independent contractors who don’t have or receive the benefits of other professional entertainers and athletes.
Wrestlers Rescue is looking not only to create awareness of this need and to raise funds but they’re also hoping to put in place a financial advisory for the active wrestling community to call on for advice on how to plan for their future which includes retirement, pension, college funds, family needs etc. They’re also trying to set in place a Health care program that can be bought into at a group rate so that the community can afford care for themselves and their families.
Wrestlers Rescue is also planning a cruise called “Slam on the High Seas” on Carnival Cruise Lines this coming July 26 – 31, 2009 where you can interact with over 20 stars from the world of professional wrestling for five whole days!!! Activities include convention style meet and greet, Q & A session, mini dojo, dinner with the stars, and much more. The deadline to book your trip has been extended to January 10, 2010. To read more about the cruise you can see the press release here, or visit wrestlersrescue.org.

I read that Wrestlers Rescue’s booking agency. The agency consists of some of the most talented wrestlers in the business. Using our agency is the perfect way for you to give back to our cause without going into your own pocket. All of our talent has agreed to donate 10% of their appearance fee to the cause.

I looked at the staff page and learned that RF Video handles multimedia. I find it a bit sad that such a great organization does any business whatsoever with Rob Feinstein.

I learned what the organization is. I think that's actually pretty cool. I didn't even know that existed. My fiance (who is a wrestler) told me about it a little when I asked him too. I like that they help older wrestlers out too.

It's sad that such an organization like this even needs to exist, considering that wrestlers give it their all to entertain us.

Wrestlers Rescue’s mission is to create awareness and to help raise monies to support the health care needs of Retired Professional Wrestlers due to a career choice in wrestling.
Wrestlers rescue will be focusing on three stages of growth.
1st stage: create awareness of the need and to raise funds.
2nd stage: put in place a financial advisory for the active wrestling community to call on for advice on how to plan for their future. Including retirement, pension, college funds, family needs etc.
3rd stage: set in place a Health care program that can be bought into at a group rate so that the community can afford care for themselves and their families.

I had never heard of Wrestlers Rescue until today. I also didn't know Dr Death had died until I looked at the web site. Such sad news - I watched him in the 80's. I have been a wrestling fan since I was a very young girl. Thanks for this giveaway.
