Wrestlemania is fast approaching. One of the biggest nights in sports entertainment will soon be upon us, and I’ll be glued to my TV set the majority of Sunday night. One of my favorite wrestlers, Chris Jericho will be in attendance, but he’s also got a few more things up his sleeves lately as well. Those that don’t know much about WWE Superstar Chris Jericho might not know that he’s also a music enthusiast. He’s lead singer of the band Fozzy, and a big heavy metal fan.
A band named Anvil is one of Chris Jericho’s childhood heroes, and he’s been sharing his love for them, and metal lately by supporting Anvil in a number of appearances. On March 25th Jericho was at in in-store event to show his support of Anvil and the new movie Anvil! The Story of Anvil which was directed by Sacha Gervasil.
You can check out the video clip below:
Chris Jericho also joined Anvil later on as well:
I myself am not a metal fan, I’m not even sure who Anvil is, but I’m a big wrestling fan, and a big fan of Chris Jericho so any chance to see or meet him, I’m game for. Helping promote Anvil: The Story of Anvil, Chris Jericho is scheduled to appear at the movie screening and live performance by Anvil, which is open to the public, so check out dates near you!
Anvil! The Story of Anvil Trailer:
“Anvil! The Story of Anvil” is the directorial debut of screenwriter Sacha Gervasi (“The Terminal”) and follows Steve “Lips” Kudlow and Robb Reiner and their band, Anvil, which released one of the heaviest albums in metal history, 1982’s Metal on Metal. The album influenced an entire musical generation of rock bands, including Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, who all went on to sell millions of records. Anvil, on the other hand, took a different path—straight to obscurity. The film is both entertaining and touching as it follows their last-ditch quest for the fame and fortune that has been so elusive to them. “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” is a timeless tale of survival and the unadulterated passion it takes to follow your dream, year after year.
“The best documentary I’ve seen in years,” - Michael Moore “Possibly the greatest film yet made about rock and roll” - the London Times
“Anvil! The Story of Anvil” contains appearances by an array of heavy metal icons, including Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, former member of Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, Anthrax’s Scott Ian, and Slayer’s Tom Araya, among others.
