This diet is killing me! Ok, not really. I’m really happy that I’ve progressed with my diet, and I’ve been sticking to it for the most part. I’ve now lost over 25lbs and am feeling great. It’s great to see clothes fitting better and sizes going down. Even a brand new pair of jeans I bought just a few weeks ago are already baggy and bigger than they were when I bought them.Haagen-Dazs is about to ruin my diet for good though. A few days ago I received a very special package in the mail. When we opened up the box, there sat 4 little yummy containers of Haagen-Dazs new five ice creams packed in some dry ice. My will power would have to be good for this.
Luckily the girls distracted me for a while with the fascination of the dry ice that kept this ice cream nice and cold, and we played with that for a while after I packed the ic cream away from my sight in the freezer. Everything was good until night time, kids in bed, and hubby discovered the new ice cream sitting in our fridge. I gave in, we had to try it.
At first I was excited. You see Haagen-Dazs five is an all-natural
ice cream created with only five ingredients. I thought hmm, maybe this is some ice cream I can indulge in, so I turned the carton around and started reading the nutritional information on every carton we got. The mint, Brown Sugar, Ginger and Passion fruit were not going to be my friends or allow me to indulge. Eating ½ a cup of any of these ice creams were easily well over 200 calories. How sad for me. Not sad however for my husband as he really doesn’t care at all about calories (even though he should).We broke out the spoons, and I had a little taste of each one so I could at least review these right, the brown sugar ice cream was the first victim. YUMMO! I’ve never tasted something so great in my life; the mint was next…Equally as good. I didn’t like the Ginger or the Passion Fruit but my
hubby did, and I think we both agreed this was THE BEST ice cream we had ever tasted in our lives. Thankfully I wasn’t set the Chocolate or the Coffee flavor or that would have been the end of it. I can only imagine how great those taste.When Haagen-Dazs said the new five ice cream was all-natural ingredients…pure taste and unadulterated flavor, they weren’t kidding! There is no false advertising with this ice cream, the taste, the flavor the texture and even the ingredients. Five is five with ingredients in each being the flavor of the ice cream (mint, ginger, brown sugar etc.), milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks. Simple, pure and easy and being all natural, maybe you can pretend it’s better for you and the calories aren’t there.
