Recipes: Peanut Butter Brownies...

So, not that this is something I will be eating! But I’m in a baking and cooking mood today. A friend of mine posted a recipe on her Facebook wall, so I decided on a whim to try it out. I had the ingredients already, I did tweak the recipe just a bit though, but it still came out GREAT!!!

Peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup peanut butter (used Natural Peanut Butter)
* 1/3 cup margarine, softened (used smart balance omega spread)
* 2/3 cup white sugar (used splenda for baking)
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (used splenda brown sugar)
* 2 egg
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup chocolate chips – optional (used semi-sweet chips)

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C ). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.

2. In a medium bowl, cream together peanut butter and margarine. Gradually blend in the brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla; mix until fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture until well blended. * fold in chocolate chips if used

3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in preheated oven, or until the top springs back when touched. Cool, and cut into 16 squares.

As my husband says, I can never do exactly what a recipe says, as you can see in my notes above, I used a few different ingredients. Although I still shouldn’t be eating it, I had to have a sample of what I baked, and even with the small little piece I had… YUM!!!!!!!!

Thanks Diane!!!
