Health Care Reform leads to De-friending on Facebook...

Why? That's my only question....

Why is it that when you're friends with people in the Facebook community once you say something or do something on your own wall, on your own status and are having a civil 'debate' about something like ohhh let's say Health Care Reform, once you have opposing views, other's chime in with their opinions, it was a civil conversation no name calling etc. etc just facts and opinions, why take your ball, go home and de-friend me?

Asking questions, debating reasoning etc. etc is how a debate works, if you weren't ready to debate, why step into the conversation in the first place, and then why de-friend me because you don't like the things going on in my conversation....

It's easy, stay out of the 'debatable' conversations, and just talk to me about my diet supplement review or something easy, where you won't get offended, where you won't get all huffy, and stay my friend!

I really don't understand people sometimes …. By the way, this Health Care debate/reform whatever going on, is exhausting! (and no, I don't want to debate this on the blog...)

I've found that it's usually when you strike a nerve with some people and they can't handle the truth being handed to them that their only course of action is to take their ball and go home.

Oh well G, it's not the first time you've been "defriended" and I suspect it might not be the last :) A true friend wouldn't do that if that's any consolation.

You're in good company LOL

LOL Wow. You weren't even in on most of that conversation yet you get defriended for it. I understand that the internet and social networking is all fairly new, but one should be able to distinguish between one's friend and one's friend's friends. Makes no sense to delete someone for something someone else did.

I tend to stay away from the political conversations- I don't need the additional stress in my life.

I totally agree. I don't always feel that I agree with everyone on everything! That would be a ridiculous assumption. I posted on comment about the HCR and a tweeter questioned me about it in a very saracastic way. I let her know it was "my" opinion and she's welcome to not share it. She then went on to blast 5-6 tweets one right after another about her views on the HCR. LOL Another tweet ask her jokingly if she was feeling well. Her reply was that she was "informing the uninformed about the HCR." I suppose she was considering me the uninformed. LOL I just laughed to myself and ignored her twant (twitter rant).
