I'd love to say to all of my American friends that I hope you all have a great and happy 4th of July, but I can't...Yes I'm Canadian now living in the United States, we celebrate Canada Day in Canada, the very equivalnt to the 4th of July here in the States. However there is one differnce, Canadians (at least where I used to live) don't set off fireworks 24/7 for an entire month.I'm so CRANKY and MOODY and GRUMPY today! Not only because really, it's not a holiday for our family it's a regular old day for us, hubby has to work just like any other day, but the other reason for me is that I hate fireworks!!! I mean, I don't mind them when we go to big things at the parks, when we set them off ourselves in the backyard they're quite pretty. What I hate is where I live now..... In Ohio, fireworks are illegal. It's illegal to set them off, it's illegal for
anything that goes BOOM or flies into the sky. However, the majority of people around here fail to listen to that law. It seems like all month fireworks are going off, and you know, it's fine for a while, but IT KEEPS MY CHILDREN UP!!!! Anything after 11pm drives me crazy, my kids are trying to sleep, I'm trying to sleep and fireworks will go off until 3am sometimes, then to be awaken at 8-9am by more BOOMS that rattle my house, it makes me hate this holiday even more.Apparently even though they've mentioned that it's illegal on the news a million times this past week alone, no one cares, including the cops because it's 'impossible to ticket everyone'.
So to all, I'm not going to say Happy 4th of July, I'm going to say, be mindful of your neighbors today, set off fireworks at REASONABLE hours.....Please.... Some of us have kids and some of us like to sleep!

But we did pop over to Buffalo for some shopping on Canada Day
I'm not a fan of personal fireworks, either. They are legal in Oklahoma, but not in town, but apparently the police have had earplugs in for the past week. My dog has been stressed for days.
I was grumpy too! Oh my! I feel like I need another two days. I really don't like when people aren't considerate of others. I was talking to a friend the other day about the rejects setting off fireworks in a neighborhood at almost midnight. How rude!
