Cereal a choking hazard?

That's news to me. My girls have been eating cereal ever since they could chew. They love their cereal, all sorts. We try to buy the healthier options and as a treat sometimes they get some peanut butter crunch once in a blue moon, but never once have I thought of anything besides nutritional facts.

According to Nature's Path, who makes the Envirokidz cereals, (which Aria loves the Gorilla Munch) their products can be a choking hazard to children under 5 years of age. When I heard this I was dumbfounded. Cereal a choking hazard? KIDS cereal a choking hazard???? Never have I heard this before, nor have I seen anything stating the fact on their website or their boxes of cereal. But according to one representative for their company Envirokidz cereals are geared towards kids ages 5 and up because of a 'choking hazard'!!!

I guess I missed the boat on this one, my 2 year old and 4 year old have been eating this cereal for a while. I guess this is just a warning to other parents out there with children under 5 years, to be careful when buying Envirokidz for your family, if you have children under 5, Nature's Path doesn't recommend you feeding your children their products.
